I had problems reading this book as I was provided with a review copy on the day of publishing and was unable to download it. Despite this, I purchased a copy and decided to review anyway. Unfortunately, I was disappointed in more ways that one. I was a long time trying to finish this book but ultimately realised it just does not live up to book one. It seems to have lost its spark and didn't hook me like the previous book did.

This is the Author's second book in this series - in my opinion reading the first book would be of benefit to set the characters and worldbuilding in place .
Lily Knight has been offered a job that she can't refuse ......... hunting a demon murderer . Both her professional and personal life is in tatters and she badly needs the money . But when a young teenager , Eve, asks for her help she becomes torn ............ just who can she trust ?
The race to find the murderer is further complicated by her relationship with her "boyfriend"??? Sebastian and the past rearing its ugly head yet again !

This is an entertaining , paranormal fantasy with a romance backdrop that is really enjoyable and I look forward to reading more by the Author in the future

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

This is a continuation of the first book, it can be read as a standalone but there's no fun in that. We find Lily still battling unknowns and herself as well as falling in love. The gang's all here with some new characters. Some you'll love and others you'll love to hate.

I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review. This one picks up a little after where the first book leaves off. Lily's world is a little all over the place at the moment. She has her job, Sebastian, her ward, and friendships on the rock not to mention money issues that are not helping with all the rest that she has going on. Lily also proves that the past does not stay in the past it will come back to haunt you and bring with it new problems.

There's a lot going on in this book. It had been a while since I read the first in the series so, it took me a bit to catch up. The characters are interesting and multifaceted. There are many types of paranormals in this book that one doesn't encounter often. I'm curious to see what will happen next.

The second book, just as good as the first! What a dilemma, is your mutual attraction real or due to your demon side? What part of yourself and those around you can you trust? Exciting, dramatic and emotional with brilliant characters, a great fantasy book.

cambion’s blood is a thrilling sequel to erin fulmer’s debut urban fantasy series. this book gives us an imaginative story featuring a half-succubus protagonist. i enjoyed the characters’ progression throughout the book. there’s a great dash of mystery here so if you’re up for a fun and gripping investigation story, you definitely should give this a shot.

I didn't like this one as much as the first one. The romance was pretty meh. It's like all the work was done in the first book so no further effort was put forth on that front. The idea of Lily worrying that her powers are manipulating those around her without her doing it on purpose or consciously is totally rational and reasonable, but it couldn't bear the weight it was trying to carry. I found myself just getting irritated with her.

Eve was pretty insufferable, and I found myself hoping that she got hit by a bus or something. I couldn't invest in her as a character because she had no redeeming qualities.

I thought the black feather/white feather thing was pretty cool. However, there was some groundwork placed for the villain situation to be a bit more impactful than it actually was. I didn't really remember or care about that character, and not a lot of effort was put into creating any kind of connection with the reader this time around, so it fell a bit flat for me. The reveal at the end was also a bit underwhelming for similar reasons.

The sexy bit situation was as sparse as it was in the previous book, possibly more. It's not that I believe you can't have a story about a succubus with little or no sex, but it's a sex demon ffs, so there are certain expectations and inferences made. I think that this series would work better if it was just a bit more filthy. The bar for paranormal romance/smut is pretty low. The books I've seen people raving about often objectively fucking suck. If this series contained the same quality of writing, same banter, etc. but with more sexy bits, I think it could do really well.
