“Being without you … it’s like half of a life. You took the other half with you when you left.”

Happy pub week to @jendelucawrites and WELL TRAVELED!!

I’ve adored every one of @jendelucawrites books in the Well Met series, but this one is my very favorite. As someone who is a huge people pleaser, I saw so much of myself in Lulu, and when she decided to take to the road for a slice of the Ren Faire life, I was there for it!!

While Mitch and April’s story had me laughing out loud, this one kept hitting me in the feels and didn’t let go. The ladies of the Mystics Glade were AMAZING, Stacey and Daniel were wonderful, and Grandma Malone, Mitch, and Freddy all made me so damn happy and proud!

And DEX. That man has my heart, forever and ever. He has the biggest heart, and even without his kilt and guitar-playing ways, and his effortless man-bun, I’d follow him anywhere too! 😍🤣

And as always, I did a mixed-media read of this one, and the audiobook narrated by @britpressley was SOLID GOLD!

Thank you so, so much to @prhaudio partner for my complimentary audio copy, to @berittalksbooks @dg_reads @letstalkbookspromo @berkleyromance and @netgalley for my eARC, and to @jendelucawrites for this beautiful story!!

I love it when a long awaited book in a series comes out- it is a gift any time of year! I have read all of Jen DeLuca’s Well Met series, so getting the chance to read book number four, Well Traveled, was a real treat.

This romance, set amongst a Renaissance Faire, with jousting, fair maidens, turkey legs, taverns and men in kilts is a wonderful little escape that is fun to read!

This time the Faire is traveling and characters that we love are traveling with it. It is always fun to see old book friends again. This story focuses on Dex, one of the men in kilts, and Lulu, who escapes to the Faire when her high powered life as an attorney isn’t working for her.

I thought it was a little light in the romance department but still heavy in all the fun and role playing a Renaissance Faire promises.

Thank you Berkley and NetGalley for providing an arc for an honest review.

Two things. I now want to run away and join the Ren Faire and am now taking applications for kilt wearing himbos with hearts of gold. I absolutely adored this book! I loved the descriptions of the different fairs, costumes and shows. I loved how she described such a welcoming and kind community of people and it made me so happy. We start with Lulu deciding to make a detour to the local Ren Faire to take a break from her demanding job as a lawyer. After a series of phone calls, texts and an incident with a laundry tub Lulu is convinced by her cousin, Mitch to spend the summer with The Dueling Kilts as they travel around to different Ren Fairs. What starts out as a scary unknown begins to feel more like a promising start to a new life. She is welcomed by the community and finds friendship and family along the way. As her unexpected journey unfolds she finds something or someone rather who is even more unexpected, Dex MacLean. As the guitarist for The Dueling Kilts and the Ren Faire Casanova, Lulu makes it a point to ignore him, no matter how charming he may be. But the more time she spends with Dex the more she finds that he is more than "one who plays the guitar, and looks pretty."

This is such a sweet story of found family, finding your own way, and accepting the gifts the universe gives to you. I had a smile on my face the entire time and am looking forward to my local Ren Faire.

These books always make me want to go to a Ren Fairre. I love this series and was excited for this book! Jen didn’t let us down! It’s light and fun and everything I’ve come to expect from Jen and this series.

I love when characters don’t have to give up their dreams or what they want in order to be together. No one should have to sacrifice themselves for a relationship.

Thank you for this eARC!

I think this is part of a series where the characters live in the same universe but the main characters are different in each book. This is my first read by this author and I was able to follow and enjoy the book as a stand alone.

I was so jealous of LuLu. While I don’t want to get fired, I love that she got a second chance to find what works for her. And all while spending some time with great people at a traveling fair. I really liked that in addition to the romance, there was a whole plotline and LuLu’s growth and friendships she made along the way.

It seemed a little light on the romance, but what there was, was good. While I can’t compare it to the others in the series, I did like the read and listen.

I’d like to the @prhaudio and @berkleybooks for my arc and alc books.

The fourth installment of the Well Met series, Well Traveled did a good job in tying up the series. I enjoyed the dynamic between Lulu and well-known player, Dex and their relationship arc. However, it did ring a bit too close to the last book series, Well Matched with Mitch being the “player” and felt this should have been changed up somehow and I expected a bit more humour like in the previous books. Other than that, this was a fun story to listen to as the narrators were fantastic and did a great job engaging me into the story. Also, I love the references to occurrences that happened in the previous stories to wrap things up.

This book was great fun! How fun is a romance set at a fair! Going to go back to the beginning of the series

While this wasn't my favorite of the series (the first one really holds a place in my heart), it was still amazing. I love this entire series so much, so I wasn't shocked when this one was just as good. I loved the characters, even the ones I wasn't expecting to. I'll admit that at first glance, I wasn't totally on board with giving Dex a chance, because I don't love the way he behaved in the last book he was in, but it was easy to get over that once the story got going. Will absolutely recommend to my friends!

I quite enjoyed reading this story, which was surprising because I was expecting the Willow Creek setting to have been worn out by this point; the structure and setting of this book made the series feel fresh and gave it new life while still keeping familiar characters and the elements that makes the series so lovable. I really love how Lulu and Dex interacted and the way that Lulu’s character developed and grew during her time with the Faire. I would have liked to have more time with them in the epilogue, but I really enjoyed this book and was pleasantly surprised by how much fun it was to read.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Well Traveled by Jen DeLuca

Book 4 in the Well Met series didn’t disappoint! Lulu is a hard working attorney who year after year is striving for partner at her law firm only to be told maybe yet year.
Dex is the fun loving lead guitarist who travels the renaissance fair with his family band The Dueling Kilts.
When Lulu’s life takes a wrong turn she runs off with the band and follows them from stop to stop on the fair circuit.
Well one thing leads to another and they begin a relationship that they both know can’t last past the last stop or can it?

Another fun, romantic, upbeat installment in the terrific Well Met series! I love the combination of great characters and an amazing setting -- living vicariously through these characters as they travel the world of Renaissance Faires is a sure way to lift your spirits!

Lulu (Mitch's cousin) makes a rash decision to leave her lawyerly job behind and ends up touring for the summer with the Dueling Kilts band. She quickly befriends Stacey and starts embracing the Ren Faire life, despite her initial hesitations. This summer break is exactly what she needs to help find out what direction she wants her life to take.

The brewing relationship with hottie, Dex, from the band doesn't hurt either! As the summer draws to a close, though, she realizes she may not be able to leave this life, or this man, behind so easily.

I adored LuLu's story, especially seeing how she slowly acclimated to a new lifestyle and found a new home with all of these people. It was fun watching her friends with benefits arrangement become something more substantial too!

Jen DeLuca continues to delight with her witty writing, endearing characters, and heartfelt stories that have you cheering right until the very end.

This series has been a part of my blogging life since the beginning. I always feel like I’m living vicariously through them because I’ve never been to a ren faire and this seems like the most authentic way to experience it; by not only being a visitor, but also someone who works there. This one was no difference.

I think I loved this one so much because I loved Lulu. She reminded me of me. I am the perfectionist who is always trying to make sure things are great and that I have people watching me to be sure that I am doings things to help me advance. I also thought Dex was cute. He definitely wasn’t what most people thought of him. And I loved that. I do wish that was explored more. He seemed to be upset that people were making him into something he wasn’t and he seemed to be ok with just being behind the scenes. But it wasn’t really told WHY he was like that. I wish it had went into his POV so we could find more info about him and his past. Because all we really knew was he used to be one way and something about Lulu made him change. And that’s all well and good, but WHY.

The romance itself was cute, but I guess I just didn’t understand the why. I knew she had a crush on him and she saw some of the things others didn’t, but it just felt like it fell out of nowhere. I don’t know why she wouldn’t say more about what made her different. Like I get that she sees the real him, but is that all? For them to be using the L-word so freely by the end? For him to say ok I’ve been a good time for a while, but now I’m finished. But DeLuca really knows how to write a romance because even with this happening, I didn’t really mind it. (Or maybe I just realized I wasn’t getting it at the end? lol) Either way, I still enjoyed this.

I read this on the audio, so it did have some weird time jumps. I think had I been reading a physical version it would have flowed better. But to read it in audio, I think it would have been better had there been some like actual time breaks instead of just mentioning like “3 weeks later” or “It’d been so many months since I’d seen him” if that makes sense. It just gets confusing after awhile. I don’t think it would have made much difference if it hadn’t been such a big thing to the plot, like “they spent xyz amount of time” at a faire or something.

This wasn’t my favorite plot wise tho. To be honest, it was a bit dragging in some places. It just seemed to be the same thing happening over and over. They were like playing at faires and making band decisions and traveling and that was it. The only thing that stood out was the tarot cards. And that was because I’d read 3 different books that mentioned tarot cards. It made me think I was in need of a reading or something. So I signed up for one online and have been doing some research on it too. It’s been eye-opening lol

This book was much like the others, but it served as like a comfort kind of read. I enjoyed being in the world again and seeing the characters from older books. Like Mitch and Simon! They were my favorite from the series, so I was glad we got to see them again. I’ve heard this was the end, but we’ll see. I hope there’s more to this series. I will definitely miss this ren faire!

I was very much looking forward to the next installment in the Well Met Series! I knew something fun would come from the mysterious bad boy and lawyer combo. Jen DeLuca is one of my favorite romance authors today—I have read her whole Ren Faire series and consider Well Met in particular to be an all-time favorite. While Well Traveled is in the bottom tier of favorites from this series, that doesn’t mean it’s not a good read! I read this book so quickly and loved the setting as always.

Lulu and Dex were easy characters to root for. Lulu is Mitch’s cousin who quit her job as a lawyer to figure out what she wants to do in life by skipping town and joining the band Dex is a part of as a manager as they tour parts of the country’s Ren Faires. Initially, it doesn’t seem like they will bond but their bond grew and grew and it was so heartwarming to see them both grow, mature, and become the people they want to be both individually and together.

My biggest complaint about this book is that it really does feel like the romance takes a huge back seat to self-improvement, whereas the previous books in this series feel like classic romance. But alas, it's a fun read anyway.

All around such a fun, tender series that I’ll always be fond of.

Earlier this year I read the Well Met series and it’s one of my favorites. This is book number 4 in its series, but can be read as a stand-alone. I also love how well the characters are intertwined and how all the side characters compliment the storyline so well.

If there is one trope I enjoy, it’s the “I wasn’t looking to fall in love, but actually fell for my complete opposite, that was just supposed to be a hook-up”. I absolutely loved it so so much. This book had the perfect mix of swoony romance, steamy chemistry & laugh out loud moments. The renaissance fair setting along with the tarot reading gives a light fantasy vibe to the romance. I definitely recommend it, & if you haven’t yet, please read the first 3 books.

I love the fact that I no longer hate Dex... am I being dramatic? yes. But do I love a redemption arc? honestly not always so I am happy I loved this one haha. As someone who is currently in law school I relate to Lulu on a spiritual level. My toxic trait is thinking I should leave law school the way she quit her firm... kidding. (Kinda) but on a serious note, as someone who has never been to the renaissance fair I love this series. It has quite literally made going to one on my bucket list. I could go on and on with this review but to sum it up I love this book (its arguably my favorite in the series,) I love this author (as in I would read her grocery list) and I just love love so this book hit it out of the park for me.

Loved this book! I think this is one of the most delightful romance book series. They always make me so happy I was definitely hesitant knowing Dex was the hero of this book but he pleasantly surprised me!

Well Traveled is the newest book in Jen Deluca’s Well Met series and in this latest installment, we meet Louisa Malone (Lulu to her friends and family), a successful attorney who, when we first meet her, is traveling for work, going the extra mile because she’s hoping to make Partner soon. When Lulu comes across a Ren Faire during her travels, she decides to attend during her downtime, having many fond memories of Ren Faires thanks to her cousin, Mitch, who fans of the series will surely remember from the earlier books. What Lulu doesn’t realize is that her little side trip to the Faire is about to change her life in every way.

While at the Faire, Lulu can’t even enjoy herself because everyone at work keeps calling her and making unreasonable demands. It suddenly hits her that 1) she’s never going to be made Partner, and 2) she really hates her job, and so Lulu quits her job on the spot, flinging her cell phone into a nearby laundry tub. After an initial freak out, Lulu befriends Stacey, a Ren Faire employee who happens to know Mitch. Stacey puts Lulu in touch with Mitch, who helps her come up with a game plan. Lulu is going to go off grid for a while, traveling to various Ren Faires with Stacey and the band she works with. This will give her much needed time to relax and regroup, and then once she’s ready, time to come up with a new gameplan for her future.

I really adored Lulu. Her frustration at being completely taken advantage of at her job was so relatable and I found myself cheering her on every step of the way as she moved forward to redefine herself. I admired her determination and her resilience and was actually a bit envious as she traveled from Faire to Faire. She really embraced her newfound situation, found ways to earn her keep, and become an important part of the Faire. As always, the Faire employees are such gems, becoming the found family that Lulu needed to pick her up when she was down. I especially enjoyed her friendship with Stacey, who was just so supportive and welcoming every step of the way.

The story isn’t just about Lulu though. Dex is a sexy, kilt-wearing guitar player in the band Stacey travels with. Dex has a bit of a bad boy, playboy reputation; his bandmates and other Faire employees like to tease that he jumps from one girl’s bed to the next. Even though she is warned by several that Dex is bad news, Lulu finds herself drawn to him anyway and thanks to being forced to share a motorhome with him, Lulu gradually gets to know the real Dex, who is a total sweetheart that bears little resemblance to the reputation he has been saddled with. While the banter between Lulu and Dex is often fun and flirty, and their chemistry is obvious, it was those heart-to-heart chats between them that really tugged at my heartstrings. It turns out that Lulu isn’t the only one who is trying to carve a new path forward and I found myself fully invested in both of their journeys.

As I’m sure you’ve gathered by now, I thought Well Traveled was a charming and delightful tale. I’m still thoroughly enamored by this Ren Faire romance series four books in and hope that there will be more books to come.
