This was a fun listen! I enjoyed the banter between the main characters and how it all wrapped in the end. The narration was really good.
First Bride to fall reminds me of a twist on How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. Each character ends up being a little of something they aren’t and ultimately falling in and out of love with each other through the antics. Girl tries to do the right thing to save the family business but manages to land the guy of her dreams anyway. I loved the family dynamics in this one, too, and feel they helped build the story.
A quick thank you to NetGalley for the ability to listen to this one. The narrator of this one did a great job and was pleasant to listen to.
Very sweet and funny story. It was a bit cheesy and pretty predictable, especially the ending, but overall, it was good!
Finished this audiobook in one day. The story had a good pace and storyline. I cannot say the female character was my favorite. She just had this I have to be the savior complex. I did like he two main characters when they interacted with each other.
The Family Coffee Shop is in financial trouble. Nell and her sisters make a pact that whoever doesn't find love and engaged in 30 days will marry the son of a man who year back, swindled their Father and can help them out of their financial difficulties. Nell has always loved Grant and decides to take matters into her own hands and heart. They end up at a Cabin after a failed hiking trip.
This book really made me think of the Bride Quartet series, although a bit similar still very unique on its own. First Bride to Fall is a really fun and quick read. We get a really good look into Grant and Nell's characters. The plot pretty much played out like it should have. The narration was good with nice voice changes. I was really hoping for a quick look into the whole Aidan situation but hopefully a series is in the making to curb our curiosity.
Thank you Netgalley and Tantor Audio for the opportunity to review this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion.
I got this off Netgalley, trying something new.. This isn't really my type of book.
It was very sweet and I think it will be a new series, But I won't read the next one
Ginny Baird knows how to write a VERY formulaic clean romance, but there is nothing wrong with that. Yes, I think Hallmark should make these into a series or something.
I’m not really sure how to feel about First Bride to Fall - I wanted to like it but it just was not my cup of tea. It read like a middle school-early high school romance but the characters were in their early thirties, the family dynamic was all over the place and the whole plot of the marriage on convenience felt very unbelievable (especially from the parents POV). It had some cute moments but overall wasn’t a hit for me.
Thank you NetGalley and Tantor Audio for my advanced copy in exchange for my honest review.
I really tried with this one I loved the premise of what this series could be but it was just all to cringeworthy for me. Maybe through reading physically it would be different but listening to the two characters, the chemistry or lack of was off. This just wasn’t for me.
