I have enjoyed the variety of books I have read by this author. Each series is unique and I appreciate her writing style. While the sensitive subject of breast cancer is a primary focus of the story, the author does an excellent job of handling it in a sensitive manner. I love the characters ... especially Rarity. A book about women who love to read .. with a mystery thrown in ... is just a perfect read for me. Can’t wait for the second book in this series.

If you like cozy mysteries this one is OK. For me, it had too many pitfalls of the genre. The main character, Rarity, is painfully boring. She doesn't have much of a personality outside of surviving cancer. I kind of wish the books centered on her friend Sam, who has a little more sass. The book starts off soon after Rarity moves to Sedona. I think the book would have been better if she and the book club had been long established. I didn't feel like the club had much of a point. They only meet a few times and I didn't feel like we got to know any of the members.

This book could have been so much shorter. The mystery was pretty weak and the plot "twists" didn't really do much for me. If the "bookish" nature or cancer survivors aspect of the plot is what drew you in (like I was) don't waste your time, the book club is such a minor part of the story I could have been replaced with basically any other social gathering and the plot would barely have to change.

The Tuesday Night Survivor's Club by Lynn Cahoon is a delightful cozy mystery. It's the first in a new cozy mystery series where amateur sleuths who have a history of cancer diagnosis investigate the disappearance of one of their own, Well developed characters and great sequencing. I'd like to read more about these characters.

The Tuesday Night Survivors’ Club by Lynn Cahoon was the sweetest little gem of a cozy mystery mixed with the best idea, a book club support group for cancer survivors. I Love the idea of a space and time that allows survivors to talk Real Talk about how their lives have changed since their cancer battles and how this potentially changes their viewpoints regarding the books that they elect to read. That idea is absolutely genius!!!

The plot was a fun cozy mystery, without any real gore or unpleasantness. There was even time for a spa day, despite them all coming together to try to discover why no one can find their new friend and book club member.

Without giving away a spoiler, I will add my favorite part of the book outside of the cancer survivors’ book club idea: Killer.

I can’t wait to read the next installment of TTNSC! I feel like I’m part of their circle now, too.

THE TUESDAY NIGHT SURVIVORS' CLUB is the first book in this fun cozy mystery series, which follows a group of women who have beaten Cancer and formed a group in hopes of creating a safe environment, until one of the members in the group goes missing.

It was an entertaining read, and I listened to the audiobook format, which was narrated by C S E Cooney.

I LOVED this book. I sincerely hope this becomes a series because I loved every character. I was worried because the c word is a sensitive topic for me but this was not a sad c word book. They were strong characters.

I listened to the audiobook and thought the narrator did a good job. I really enjoyed it!

The set up of this book sounded great but this book was not for me. I found it a tad slow and the mystery predictable. At times the characters were a bit too sweet. I also was disappointed in the character development. It was a light mystery that someone might enjoy for a quick read. I appreciate the opportunity to read and review this book .

The premise seemed so intriguing , alas this book is anything but.

The writing was quite poor, the dialogue was tilted and the characters had terrible or no arc.
Rarity moves all the way to a new town and buys her home there to be close to a friend. For that intense a friendship , Rarity and Sam are so snarky and flighty with each other!
There seems to be a lot of passive aggression about Rarity getting too close to a guy that Sam's interested in , all while Sam hasn't even seen the guy in person. Rarity's internal monologue reveal frustration at Sam's possessiveness about this potential love interest ; she still goes ahead and does things that may make her friend jealous. This whole dynamic was weirdly written.

The town and its geography was written very stiltedly, the picture it created of the town was like a poor cardboard cutout stage set.
The book club itself was written like an afterthought. What should be characters coming together with their incredible strength and survival turns into a poorly written snarkfest.
When the culprit is revealed it is for such a poor reason , with no credible motive that you're left feeling frustrated. The character's mental health and capacity is treated quite badly and passed as a joke.
The grammar in this book was quite bad and the sentences were awkward. One phrase that has stayed with me is : "It was now time for Rarity time."

I also wonder what the author's fixation with a pool is, because we hear too often throughout the book about Rarity's pool. We GET it - Rarity spent way too much on the house for the pool and she's GOING to get her money's worth. Now , who in the author's family is this message meant for?!

This was my first Lynn Cahoon book. It’s a cozy mystery, centering around Rarity’s book club. She’s a breast cancer survivor who wants to make a safe place for others who went through fighting cancer, which I thought was such an amazing idea! But I could not connect with any character, so the book was quite a plain read.

The narrator’s voice was pleasant, and the fast-pace matched the plot which unfortunately forme, was predictable and sometimes bordering on ridiculous. What kind of police officer let’s civilians do his job? And don’t let me get started on chapter 22 which really gave me second-hand embarrassment.

There were things mentioned too often, which started getting boring easily. I understood the first time Rarity told us she bought a more expensive house with a pool, I didn’t need to get reminded of it 5 times in a short period.

Overall it’s a good book to kill time with but nothing spectacular!

I love reading Lynn Cahoon's cozy mystery series, so when I saw that she was starting a new one, I had to give this first book a read. Rarity Jones is a breast cancer society and credits her friends and books for getting her through her treatments. Now that she owns a bookstore, she wants to use it to help others. It is dedicated to healing such as Eastern medicine, Western medicine, the healing power of food, the power of meditation, and the importance of developing a support community. She has begun the Tuesday Night Survivors book club, with all members being either cancer survivors or dealing with cancer treatments. Things are going well, until one of their members goes missing. Martha was always the most private of their group, so it is going to be difficult to find clues as to her whereabouts.

I have been to Sedona, so I loved the magical setting with all that goes with it. Even with the background being characters with cancer, this is not a depressing book, but upbeat and typically cozy. I liked Rarity's character, although not her name, as the protagonist and leader of the book club. She is a survivor, and is smart and independent. Her best friend Sam, owns the crystal store next to her shop and they have a great friendship. There are a couple of male possible romantic interests in Drew Anderson, a detective and Archer Ender, a trail leader. There are some quirky characters, such as Madame Zelda, a fortune teller. The mystery is interesting and very appropriate for the setting. There are a couple of suspects, several red herrings and a great showdown that brings everything together. This is a great start to a new series, by one of the "Queens of Cozy Mysteries". C.S.E. Cooney narrates the audiobook and does a wonderful job. She uses voices, expression and tone to give voice to the main characters. She drew me into the story easily and made this a pleasant listening experience.

Friends and books! And a bookstore, of course. Sedona, Arizona is the home to new bookstore owner, Rarity Cole. She has attracted like-minded souls who are also struggling with something deep and personal and formed an unexpected book club. The members are looking for healing and stability as they each navigate through their own issues with the help of their new friends. A fun who-done-it mystery entwines the story. The story is told with such careful compassion. And it's the first book in a new series!

Overall, I enjoyed this audiobook. The mystery was engaging and the narrator's voice was agreeable. The protagonist occasionally gets a bit saccharine for my taste, but that is something I am used to with Lynn Calhoon's books. I look forward to reading the next in the series.

Rarity has suffered from breast cancer. She decides to take a leap of faith and pursue her dream…open a bookstore. She has the great idea of forming a book club to help support cancer sufferers and survivors. However, one of their book club members goes missing and they all join together to solve the mystery.

Rarity is a great character. She is sweet and kind. She has had it rough these past few years and she is determined to help anyone suffering with cancer. I loved this about her. Plus, her determination. She is not going to let Martha’s disappearance go unsolved. She is determined to find out what happened even if it puts her in the line of fire…and yes it does!

I fluctuated between 3 and 4 stars on this one. But I ended up giving it 4 basically because I enjoyed the bookstore and the dog! I thought the book club was a fabulous idea to help people suffering from cancer. But, it is a bit slow in places and the mystery is easy to figure out.

This is narrated by C.S.E. Cooney and she did a great job!

Rarity Cole got through her breast cancer treatments with the help of her friends and the comfort of her books. Declared cancer free by her doctors, Rarity decides to move to Sedona, Arizona and open a bookstore with a focus on healing. Starting a book club for survivors is a given, but Rarity is definitely not prepared for what comes next.

Narrated by C.S.E. Cooney, The Tuesday Night Survivors' Club is entertaining and engaging. I admittedly do not usually read cozy mysteries, but I enjoyed this novel. It is more of a mystery beach read, with a sweeping description of the setting and good characterization. The author did telegraph the ending too much, with the perpetrator of the crime exceedingly obvious from the beginning. Overall, I am glad that I was given the opportunity to listen to the audio version of this book. It is well narrated, with a lot of life and brightness brought to the characters.

I work for an oncology biotech and I love cozy mysteries, so I had to give this book a try! I loved Rarity as an MC - her journey was inspiring, and her bookstore felt super cozy! Her outgoing friend Sam was a great foil - and both of them experience a bit of romance as well.

The mystery was compelling, and I'm excited to get more from this group in coming books. Narrator C.S.E. Cooney's voice was soothing, and I enjoyed the chance to take a break from real life and listen to her narration.

A brand new series by the author Lynn Cahoon. This is only the second book I have read of hers after reading One Poison Pie which incidentally is the first book in her other paranormal 'A Kitchen Witch' cozy mystery series. Like One Poison Pie I got a chance to listen to the audiobook of The Tuesday Night Survivor's Club Mystery. I quite liked it. It is another series which has to do with a protagonist (in this case Rarity Cole) running a bookshop and a book club except the club is strictly for cancer survivors. The plot and the mystery is decent enough and the narration by C.S.E. Cooney is overall good except I felt that her voiceover for Rarity was a bit of a let down. Even though she is a cancer survivor, Rarity in the text comes across as a positive and fun person but Cooney makes her sound dull and disinterested.

This is a super cute mystery novel and my first Lynn Cahoon read. I will definitely be checking out her other books.
The main character, Rarity Cole, starts a book club for cancer survivors in her newly acquired book store, The Next Chapter (I love this witty name for a bookstore!). When one of the members doesn’t show up for the next meeting, they learn she has came up missing. The club makes it their mission to find out what happened and solve the mystery! This story was so intriguing, I listened to this audiobook in one day!

I have to say I wasn’t sure how I would feel about this audiobook but I was hooked from the first word. The characters were very likable and I could picture all of them.

I loved that it was a group for C survivors. Something that is much needed for so many people. The setting and the homes described made me want to move in immediately. To top it with a cherry is the bookshop! My definite dream job.

I would recommend this cozy mystery for anyone who jo wants a quick lovely read.
