We absolutely LOVE this book within our homeschooling curriculum. A lot of it was really thought out and easy to navigate.

A wonderfully presented book for children, (and adults) to help understand some concepts of science. The book is really fun to read, lots of photos and messy explorations of "what happens when"
The projects are divided into five areas - Fizzy science such as ice globe volcano, Fluid science - tie-dye milk, Edible science - kaleidoscopic eggs, Material science - crystal garden and Natural science - sun prints. In all there are 25 experiments in all, five in each category, all can be done on the kitchen table..
I love this book, such a fun way to learn about how things work - without blowing up the house.

I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. Lot of fun scientific ideas to do with kids using a sheet pan and other scientific items. I would love to try the Geology fizz test and try to make fondant out of marshmallows.

My husband and I are both scientists, and our 8 year old, in particular, loves pouring through kids lab books and "experimenting." I thought she might enjoy this book. Unfortunately, there really wasn't anything new in it, and she pointed out that she had done all of the activities years ago. It's okay as a book, but it covers the same things that loads of ither books, and Pinterest, already have.

This is such a cool book for kids and parents alike. Sometimes you get kids science books and they aren’t very fun. This one is off the charts fun!! Step by step pictures of each experiment and not complicated.

With 25 child-friendly physics, chemistry, and biology projects, Sheet Pan Science encourages kids natural curiosity in an easy to understand format. Each project includes simple instructions, photographs for each step, and scientific explanations behind the project. Experiments include:
Ice globe volcanoes
Tie dye milk
Shrinking window gels
Yeasty beasts
and more!
Some of my favorite aspects of Sheet Pan Science:
Materials require common, household items
A collection of sensory projects all in one place
Explanations for every experiment in the book!
Most of these projects can be found on the internet, but there are several here that we've never seen before. This book is marketed for ages 7-10, but these experiments would be a great addition to any preschool day as well. They're fun, engaging, and hands-on... a great way to get your kids interested in science.

*disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.

Wonderful book full of educational activities to keep kids entertained. I love how there is a messy level chart, and that there is a explanation why this works. Just a great book to have on hand for those I'm bored moments or when looking for a fun classroom activity

A delightful collection of experiments to explore science in your own home.

Sheet Pan Science provides a set of easy projects using common household ingredients to explore fundamental topics in science. Kids can do anything from make cornstarch goo (a non-newtonian liquid) to dye fabric with permanent markers and alcohol to making fondant with marshmallows. Each experiment contains a messiness rating and a difficulty level and simple step-by-step instructions (with pictures). They also are each accompanied by a description of the science behind the experiment.

First off, I was raised in a household that did a lot of science experiments in our kitchen and backyard, so this kind of book is right up my alley (I've actually already recommended it to family as a potential gift idea for kids in their lives). The projects are varied and there will be something for every kid. Every activity can be completed on a sheet pan (maybe using some other vessels too) to make for easier cleanup. My favorite part was the science descriptions. They are all very clear and informative, but also don't try to steer clear of technical terms (they're all defined) or dumb things down just because it's for kids. Heinecke strikes the right balance between age-appropriate levels of knowledge and accurate descriptions.

Overall, I definitely recommend this book for anyone with kids, especially if they're interested in how the world works or why certain things (like bread rising) happen. I think it would also make a really good gift for a kid, perhaps with some of the more unusual (relatively speaking) supplies.

My son and I did some of these sheet pans projects this weekend. He was intrigued and went on to tell my sister and nephews about the book. I have a feeling we will be doing more of them soon. Fun, cool book!

The book details 25 experiments. Chapters are: Fizzy Science (Bubbles, Rocks, and Ice Volcanoes), Fluid Science (Milk, Water, and Swirling Colors), Edible Science (Marshmallows, Sugar Crystals, and Acid Dyes), Material Science (Sprinkles, Gelatin, and Non-Newtonian Goo), and Natural Science (Sprouts, Dyes, and Eco Prints).
Each experiment (called a "lab") includes ratings for Mess Factor and Complexity, a list of materials, and Safety Tips, before getting in to the steps and full color photos, plus science explanations.
I like the variety of projects included, and how the book focuses on things that can be relatively contained to a sheet pan. I do wish the book included a clear mention of time involved in the projects - it seems like some require prep but others could be over quickly. Some were obviously leading to open ended play, but a timeframe for setup/creation would be good.
Overall, this book looks to have quite a few fun ideas for inquisitive and creative kids, and this mom loves the idea of it all being on a sheet pan.

I love the idea of using a sheet pan for experimentation to keep things contained! This book does a great job of illustrating the steps of each experiment. The images are bright and the instructions are easy to follow. There is a wide range of activities so I can see this book being something families come back to frequently on a day when a kid says they're bored!

Sheet Pan Science is filled with awesome projects for kids! This would be great for summer time or weekends. A huge variety of projects are included and use items found easily. I loved the vaiety of projects, from science to art, and that they stay contained to a sheet pan. Beautiful photos and step-by-step instructions are included for each project. I would suggest this book for children aages 7 to 12. What a cool book!

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing this ARC.

Are you looking for something for the kids to do that isn’t on a screen? This is a great science activity book and we had almost all the supplies on hand. The supplies we did buy were inexpensive. There are lot of great activities that can be done on a sheet pan, which keeps the mess down. My kids had fun doing them and they learned a lot along the way. 5 of the activities were even edible! They’re favorite was Marker Magic.

This is a fantastic science book for kids. I love that there are color photos of every activity, plus ratings for how messy and how difficult each one is. There's a nice variety of experiments and it teaches you what's going on. Highly recommended.

I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for review.

This 120+ page book is filled with great science experiments which require minimal equipment and are bound to keep kids entertained for hours. Each experiment has a list of materials and safety tips or hints, a Mess factor and Complexity scale, a list of steps and a blurb about the science behind the experiment. The following few pages in each experiment show real photos of the step-by-step process with children doing the experiments. These photos are great because they can give the children a very clear sequence of events and they will be better able to follow the instructions once they know what to expect. I also love that it is pictures of real kids because it will also make it more intriguing to the readers. As a grade 3 teacher, I know that my students would love this book. I tend to be a little unimaginative when it comes to fun science experiments but I feel like with some of these ideas so easily explained and with such an easy step-by-step guide even I would be willing to take on some of these fun experiments with my students. I would highly recommend this book to parents and teachers of miniscientists who are looking for some fun and learning activities this summer! Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read and review this great book!

Like Heinecke's other books, this one is fantastic! I love the variety of experiments and the science concepts that they teach. Each activity has pictures and step by instructions with accompanying pictures. The directions are clear and simple for both children and parents to follow and most use ingredients that are likely on hand or easy to obtain. We will definitely be purchasing this book in print to add to our collection when it is published! This would be the perfect summer addition to keep kids occupied with fun and educational activities!

A great book for kids! This book has a bunch of different experiments for kids that all revolve around a sheet pan. There are a wide variety of activities - edible, eco-friendly, etc. Each experiment is accompanied with pictures. I liked how clear the directions were and some of these experiments I'd never even heard of!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an arc in exchange for an honest review- all thoughts and opinions are my own!

Loved this! The visuals, the amount of info-
Perfect for kids to follow along to, and as a homeschooling mama- the least amount of clean up after science experiments, the better. Sheet pan projects?! Perfection.

Sheet Pan Science is a fun and exciting way to introduce science, biology and physics to children. This book uses mostly household items and a sheet pan to contain the mess. There're 25 child-friendly experiments to keep your child engaged for hours. Each experiment has step-by-step instructions, picture and text directions, and the science behind each experiment.

What I love about this book is children learning science by getting their hands dirty. I appreciate that this book uses multi-sensory learning; I've found the knowledge stays with my children longer using overlapping sensory learning. It's the perfect time of year to take your supplies outside to a picnic table and use the water hose for a quick cleanup.

Thank you, Quarto Publishing Group - Quarry, for the advance review copy.

Fun, easy experiments for the youngsters which require only the common, easily accessible items at home.

The steps are basic and easy to follow. I appreciate the inclusion of real pictures. The content is presented in a manner it's fun to read the instructions and so colourful throughout.

However, I feel the necessity of using protective instructions are lacking. Otherwise, it's a good collection of experiments anyone can perform.
