Mansplainer is a funny, sweet, sexy romance with likable characters. I must admit, I was not a fan of Nash in the two previous books of the series, but I understand him much better now. It turns out he is just a guy who cares a lot and wants to help everyone he meets. Which is how he ends up married to Chelle. She needs a temporary husband and he needs a temporary wife and he convinces her that they can both get what they need from a brief alliance. Chelle is a tough one because she doesn't have a good history with the men in her family which colors her view of "mansplainer" Nash, but I really did like her. These characters have great chemistry and even though I think the premise for the bet is pretty ridiculous, their journey to love is sweet and entertaining and I enjoyed it a lot.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Beckett will do everything to win a bet between his cousins. Even marry Chell who needs help and a husband. It is just for one month what could go wrong right? It is a great funny love story full of family drama and pets. I loved it.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for NetGalley
Mansplainer follows the last eligible Beckett in his quest to win the very coveted last Christmas present that was left by his grandmother. In order to do this, he must go on six dates with the first woman to answer his dating profile and not fall in love. After his mother sets up a meeting with Chelle so he can hopefully help her out in keeping her foundation from falling into the hands of her wannabe cowboy uncle, Nash concocts a plan for them to get married so both can get what they want. But things don’t go quite as planned, and things heat up rather quickly between Nash and Chelle.
This romantic comedy had me grinning like crazy, and both Nash and Chelle are quirky cute. Nash can’t help but drive pretty much everyone crazy with his incessant mansplaining, and Chelle is the quiet, bookish, older woman. At first, they believe they won’t actually have to worry about making it through their marriage without catching feelings, but then one thing leads to another, which is when things get interesting. Their interactions are entertaining, and I enjoyed seeing how their characters played off of one another.
However, something that didn’t quite work for me was the description of Chelle. I adore a curvy heroine, but her character was so down on herself that it made me feel sad for her. Plus, the way she was described came off as dowdy and verging on unattractive, and I found myself wishing for more positive descriptors. I much preferred Nash’s description of Chelle, which was definitely much kinder and sweeter.
Overall, this is a fun, cute, and steamy read. I enjoy a book that puts a smile on my face and gets me giggling, and Mansplainer did just that.

Opposites attract in 𝘔𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘳 by Avery Flynn! What a fun, quick, steamy read! I loved the whole concept that Nash (H) found a loophole in the bet he has with his two cousins to be the ‘last man standing’ to fall in love by Christmas. And Chelle (h) is in need of a husband asap to meet the demands outlined in her dad’s will or she’ll lose her position as the executive director at the family’s foundation that she deeply cares about. It laid the perfect groundwork for Nash & Chelle to be in desperate need to be married, quick!
Nash & Chelle had amazing chemistry and they were both very likable characters. I so appreciated the plus-size woman representation, Chelle is a total queen. And Nash…ah, so dreamy and even though he’s a know-it-all, he’s caring and charming.
I’d totally recommend this spicy romcom!

So pleased to see the end of the series! I’m not shocked by how it turned out or about the gift they’ve been fighting for this whole time—but that’s fine. Romance novels aren’t about the side story to the relationship, they’re about the HEA and I promise this has one!
I like Flynn’s romance tales. The relationships seem realistic enough, and the spice and steam is well done.
Nash is a know it all who over explains everything. He can’t help himself and he feels responsible for everyone he loves, partly due to his parents. He found a loop hole in the Last Man Standing bet with his cousins, now he needs a wife.
Chelle is a hot mess in some instances, but others she is strong. She is independent and hard working, but she can also be unsure of herself at times, due to her dad and uncle. She is trying everything to keep the family foundation open, but in order to honor her father’s will, she needs a husband.
Honestly, Nash mansplaining everything was irritating, but funny. He didn’t even seem to realize he was doing it. I loved how he actually accepted her help in limiting how often he “helped” others. Their banter was great and I laughed out loud a lot at their interactions. Their chemistry was on fire, but again, I wish they would have communicated their true feelings to each other, but then the ending wouldn’t have been as great as it was.
I love this book and the Beckett family. I would love more from this family. I received an ARC and this is my honest, voluntary review.
Unfortunately this book was just not for me:-(! And I had to dnf it at 33% of the book read.
I won’t write a lot because a lot of people love this series and I have read other books by Avery Flynn that I liked a lot.
But the writing in this particular book was not for me.
I got this arc from Entangled publishing and Netgalley. This is my honest opinion and my voluntary review.
Chelle Finch and Nash Beckett are providing each other a means to their respective ends by getting married. It's not real, it's just an arrangement. Chelle has fought her misogynistic family her entire life and for once she is going to find the loop hole to keep her foundation running. Need to get married to fulfill the archaic terms of her father's will, check.
Nash Beckett is the oldest son, he's used to making sure everyone is taken care of, to the extreme. When he wants to win a family bet he gets creative and offers Chelle her perfect solution, marriage with no strings. The only problem is they are seriously attracted to each other. Going a month without giving into the mouth watering temptation, not likely. And working on his mansplaining tendencies is a bonus for Chelle.
3.5 stars! While I did find myself highly annoyed by Avery’s constant mansplaining at times, this was still a fun read. Lighthearted and witty with great chemistry steam. I loved Chelle and how quick she was to put Avery in his place. Good read with some great characters! *I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
Chelle and Noah what a team. THey both need something from each other, and it is the same thing. From the moment I opened the book I was already hooked. Her with her animals, and hom with his mansplaining.
If you love RomCom this is the book for you. It is a perfect read
** I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for a honest review**
Nash’s a fixer who although has the best intentions comes off as an annoying know it all & Chelle’s an independent women who doesn’t like to be told how to live her life. Neither one is looking for a relationship, but they both hope to gain something out of their arrangement. Rules are set but those rules soon get broken.
Chelle is a plus sized older women who comes from a toxic family & he’s the most eligible bachelor who’s token the rule of care taker for his family.
What I enjoyed seeing in this book was that Nash always praised how gorgeous & beautiful Chelle was; I wish there weren’t so many instances were she gets body shamed but that’s the world for you unfortunately.
Mansplainer was amusing, entertaining, fun, & a hot read. I loved Nash & Chelle’s love story & their happily ever after!
Thank you to NetGalley & Entangled publishing for allowing me to read & review this book. All my own opinions.
Mansplainer Alert!
This is my first Avery Flynn book but not my last one. I didn't read the first two books in the series but the author does a great job of making it unnecessary.
I really liked Nash despite his constant and often hilarious mansplaining. Nash just had a way about him and I found him extremely likeable and the cover model is gorgeous and swoon worthy.
Nash likes to win and competes with his cousins to be the last man standing. His ace in the hole, a fake marriage to an older woman named Chelle. She has her reasons to agree. Namely to continue to run her
family's foundation. A caveat of her father's Will, she must get married in order to maintain control of the foundation. When pesky feelings get in the way can they both win without losing what they cherish most? Each other. Read this book.
The last book (for now) in the Last Man standing series, Mansplainer delivered both on the heat and humor factor.
It was fun and fresh to read about an older woman x younger man romance in a while and the chemistry was absolutely sizzling. Both leads were very fun and had me smiling at many points in the book.
As a reviewer already said though, an issue was not that the FL was curvy, but rather her descriptions. I will go further and say that I feel once it has been established that the lead(s) is fat (not a bad word!!!) we do not have to see those descriptions every time they have sexy times. Just let it be.
Overall, this was a fast and fun read.
Thank you to Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for the ARC.
This was exactly what I was hoping for, a light hearted romance with some spice. I read it in 24 hours because even though I knew what was going to happen, I really liked the characters and I didn't want to put it down.
After reading the first two books in the series I have been so looking forward to seeing how the bet wrapped up and who Nash would fall for.
He and Chelle are only supposed to have a marriage of convenience that helps them both. Nash's plan is that they stay together six months but with nothing real between them. I really enjoyed seeing his plan go sideways when he realizes he truly cares for Chelle.
This is a fun, entertaining read with Avery's signature humor and engaging writing. I always get hooked by her books from the very beginning and this was no exception. I also loved getting to see Nash's cousins and their significant others as well. This was a great romance and ending to the series!
This was my first Avery Flynn book and I was delighted. It was a quick easy read but fun.
Chelle and Nash decide to have a marriage for a month to both fulfill obligations: she needs to marry because of her father’s will to save the charity and he needs it win a bet. She agrees to the marriage if he takes lessons from her about being a mansplainer.
I loved that Chelle was an older woman with curves! She wrote geeky fantasy books and had a hoard of animals. Like this is me when I become that age! I would have appreciated more admiration for her curves than the negative comments form her uncle but that aside well done in that area. Nash’s mansplaining ways come from a lifetime of caring for others but he learns from Chelle how to contain that.
Would I have liked more dogs, yes but the story overall was fun, witty, steamy and a quick read. Exactly what I was looking for at the time!
"All of it added up to Nash Beckett being not a puppy but a very big dog - perfect for a young, cute, thirty-something woman with a high tolerance for mansplaining and the patience for rearranging her life to make room for another person. Chelle was not that woman."
Or so she thought. Chelle needed this fake marriage. In order to save the family foundation that she has put so much time into. This arrangement has to work. Being attracted to Nash definitely is a complication she does not need.
Nash is determined to win this bet. As long as he doesn't fall in love by Christmas, he gets his grandma's final gift. All he is determined to do is win - winning against his cousins is always his ultimate goal. He's happy to help Chelle out in the process. But the more time he spends with Chelle, the more he realizes winning may not be as important as his feelings for Chelle.
I love this conclusion to the Last Man Standing bet! Nash & Chelle may be my favorite couple of the series.
I absolutely love a marriage of convenience book and this was no different. It had the laugh out loud effect on me, and look, I get why Chelle fell for Nash. He was honestly so swet and adorable and maybe he needed to stick his foot in his mouth a bit, but hey, he was definitely deserveling of his happily ever after.
Who knew the Mansplainer would be so much fun?
Nash(ville) is the oldest in his family. He is the responsible one, taking care of both his parents and two siblings. He has an answer for everything. And because of his tarot reading mom in a dog park, he is the answer to Chelle Finch's problem. The one which requires her to get married immediately or loose her foundation thanks to her jerk dad and uncle. So, two pugs and a cat on a leash later, Nash thinks he's found a way to win the bet (last present from grandma) while temporarily marrying Chelle.
So very much to love about this book. Older, curvy heroine, a guy who has all the answers just has to figure out one big one, how to stay married to his missus.
Recommend.

In the last installment of the Last Man Standing series, Nash decides to help Chelle to keep the foundation she works and he also gets to win the bet ha made with his cousins. Everyone would win and in the end of the arrangement they went their separate ways.
Everyone saw Nash as the know-it-all who knew better than anyone about anything. In reality he was just a good guy who took the role of problem solver to keep his family put together and couldn’t see when he went too far. I really liked his character.
On the other hand we have the closed-off Chelle who after being demeaned her entire life by the man in her life decides she won’t let any man tell her what to do, but she confuses being obstinate for being stubborn. Her stubbornness annoyed me to no end by the end of the book. Of course, Avery managed to balance it all and give us a HEA for Chelle, Nash, and their pet babies.
Oh, we also get to know what was the mystery present they were trying to get all along. It’s definitely something you won’t see coming.
Overall it was a really nice romantic comedy and I’d definitely recommend it.
