I thoroughly enjoyed Find Me. I found it a little tricky to keep up with all the characters for the first few chapters and had to keep flicking back to check but once the story got going it all clicked into place. It is the story of Kate who has returned to Cornwall to try and discover the truth of what happened to her baby sister Jess many years before which caused her to become estranged from her father and cause her relationship with her husband and children to suffer. This was a rollercoaster of a ride and one in which I was convinced I’d worked out the ending 2/3rds of the way through only to be shot off in a completely different direction!! Another outstanding book by Carla Kovach which I would highly recommend.

I am a huge fan of Carla Kovach and have read all her books, so I couldn’t wait to pick up this new book.
I liked the story but it wasn’t my favourite. As usual it’s very well written but the pacing was a bit slow in the first 35% of the book. I didn’t really like Kate very much and her decisions baffled me many times, maybe because I’m not a parent and can’t understand the way she decides to protect her children or find out what happened to her sister all these years ago.
The plot was a bit predictable but I didn’t expect who was behind the anonymous messages. And that’s also where I feel that this anonymity was actually quite unnecessary (but then there would have been no book, or a very different one).
All in all it’s a good mystery thriller and I recommend it. 3.5 stars

Thank you to the publisher who provided me with an e-copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Natalie has her own problems but she has had enough of lies and secrets she wants the truth of what happened to little Jess .Kate and her family go back there but someone does not want her finding the truth its so good Highly recommend

I’ll never forget that day. It was blisteringly hot, and I begged our mother for an ice cream. As we left you with Dad, I didn’t know it would be the last time I saw your face. Minutes later, we returned to the end of the pier where we had parked your pushchair. Dad was asleep on a bench, and your little pink blanket was empty. You had vanished.
Twenty-five years later. The morning of the anniversary of Jess’s disappearance starts like every other for her sister Kate – a rushed school run, a cold cup of coffee and a quick scan of the news for updates. But when her phone beeps with a message from an unknown number, everything changes.

I know what happened to Jess.

I read this in a single sitting, unable to put it down, I was hooked from the first page till the last in this book by Carla Kovach. I needed to know what happened to Jess and though I thought I had guessed I guessed slightly wrong. A firm 5 stars

Thanks to netgalley and the publishers for this arc.

25 years ago, Jess vanished, most likely swept away in the sea. On the anniversary of her disappearance, Kate is shocked to get a message from someone claiming to know what happened to her. What secrets will emerge? A thrilling and emotional story that keeps you guessing and turning the pages.

I couldn't get into this book. It moved way too slow. I tried several times but never got more than 1/3 through. I eventually read every couple of chapters just to finish it.

I'm a huge fan of the author and absolutely love the Detective Gina Harte Series, so I was excited to read this book. It wasn't my favorite, but I did enjoy it. I didn't love any of the characters, Kate was my least favorite. I found her extremely annoying. She put herself in danger constantly but wanted her daughters to grow up in a plastic bubble. Kate wouldn't even let anyone near her children. No wonder Damien, was suspicious of his wife. She constantly lied to him and was more concerned with finding information out of Jessica rather than spending time with her family on their "vacation." Kate actually did the exact opposite of what any normal person would do. She ignored threatening messages, never told her husband or anyone else when she went so where, didn't tell the police everything and would meet up with people when they were total strangers. I wasn't shocked when the truth finally came out, I figured that's what would eventually be revealed. The only part I didn't expect was who was behind the original messages asking Kate to come to Looe. This person knew all along the truth and would prevented a bunch a terrible stuff happening if she/he confronted Kate right away. There were twists and turns but obvious ones.

Definitely recommend giving the book a try. It's a good mystery/thriller, predictable but still entertaining. Look forward to reading more books by the author.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Bookouture through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Another great read from this author, plenty of twists and turns with lots of goings on that just kept me on the edge of my seat all the way until the brilliant ending which brought the story to a well developed conclusion.

Thank you to Netgalley and Bookouture for this brilliant ARC from one of my favourite authors which I can thoroughly recommend.

Twenty five years ago a little girl by the name of Jess went missing whilst on holiday in Cornwall, and was later presumed drowned in the sea. No one knows what happened on that fateful day that her father was looking after her and being the worse for wear nodded off for a few minutes which was all it took to take her. Her sister Kate who was small herself at the time vaguely remembers the day and has been scarred by it ever since- to the point that she won’t let her own daughters out of her sight. When she receives a message from someone claiming they know what happened she can't help but investigate. She convinces her long suffering husband to go to Looe and that's it’s to say a final goodbye to Jess. When she gets there she gets rather more than she bargained for and could be in danger.
Oh wow! I raced through this. Each chapter is headed to the person who is narrating it, mostly Kate but occasionally others. It's a tense drama with twists and turns and one I really couldn't see who the perpetrator was- just as I like it. A cleverly thought out plot well executed and one that kept me within the pages until the very end.

I really enjoyed this book I thought I'd find it predictable but actually I was wrong it had a good solid ending that kept me on my toes.

some of the characters felt a little flat and a few people I forgot who they were because there were so many "inportant" characters.

overall a good mystery that I enjoyed reading and would definitely check out some of this authors other books at a later date

Find Me by Carla Kovach is a standalone novel from the author of the wildly popular Detective Gina Harte series. Ms Kovach can always be relied upon to deliver a pulse-pounding, unputdownable thriller rife with twists and turns, and this offering is no exception.

Twenty-five years ago Kate lost her baby sister Jess while on a day out at the seaside. Returning with her mother after pestering her for an ice cream, the pair find the little girl's pushchair empty while her father sleeps nearby. Kate has since lived in fear for her own two young daughters to such an extent that it is causing problems in her marriage. But an anonymous message will bring the past into sharp and agonizing focus yet again. Someone knows what really happened to little Jess on that fateful day. 4.5 stars

This one will pull you in from the very start and will hold you captive throughout.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for an ARC.

A stand alone from one of my favourite authors. 20 years ago her little sister died and Kate has never got over it. On the anniversary she gets a message saying " I know what happened to your sister ". Kate has two little girls of her own and is definitely overprotective and cannot let her children be children. This is the start of a wild ride. Full of suspects, so much misdirection, a town harbouring a dark secret. This author has done it again. She has the knack of drawing the reader in and does not let them up for breath until they have turned the last page. Heartbraking, shocking and so much more.
Many thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the ARC in return for giving an honest review.

I was gripped by this enthralling thriller from the first page! Such an atmospheric thriller, I really felt like I was in Cornwall, it’s such a beautiful place anyway, but the way it was described throughout the novel made me want to go and visit it even more. Really believable characters in a gripping plot Plus a very satisfied ending makes me a happy reader.

Once you pick up one of Carla Kovach’s books , make sure that you have no plans or anywhere you need to be because it’s difficult to leave down. This is a stand-alone but what a great twisty read where everyone seems to be hiding something and no one can seem to give a straight answer. A five star plus read.
