Funny and fun story written with such humor to satisfy your funny bone.
Josie meets Cameron and they really like-like each other. Josie’s hiding a huge secret from Cameron-her parents used to work in the adult entertainment industry and they own an adult toy business. Josie does not want the family business to ruin her chances with Cameron. Best secrets have a way of being exposed and the cards will fall where they lay.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I enjoyed the wholesome aspect of family that this book portrayed. This book centered around Josie and her family. Josie's parents used to be in the adult movie scene and when they retired they founded an adult toy business. Josie currently runs the business while her parents are retired. Josie's brother is a semi-famous soap opera star and is very close to Josie. This book centers around her life with her family and brother and the obstacles that they face throughout the book. It's wholesome in the fact that it shows how supportive her family is of every motive she has throughout the book. The romance in the book with Cameron is a secondary plot. I was a bit disappointed about this because I wanted more of them. I wanted more dates and more Josie and Cameron because they have such a good relationship. Otherwise, I enjoyed Kristen Bailey bringing about the topic of S*x and how it can be normalized. She does a great job talking about major issues in the book and I enjoyed that aspect. I also enjoyed the element of Josie and her family; seeing such a healthy family dynamic was refreshing.
I recommend this book if you are looking for a good wholesome family theme book, but not if you are looking for some romance. As stated earlier, there is some, but it's not a major part of the plot. I gave this a 3/5 because I expected there to be some spice and a lot more insight into Josie's current love life.
This book made me literally laugh out loud, it was the perfect book to read this summer.
I loved it.
This was the first book that I've read by this author and it won't be my last.
Thanks Netgalley for the ARC for an honest review
This was a fun, hilarious, super fast read. I really enjoyed this book and I’d happily recommend. I love quirky books that can hold my attention whilst I fly through them.
3.8 STARS
This was such a fun and unique rom com. It was surprisingly not steamy, considering it’s about a women who works in the sex toy industry but that just added to the charm. It was sweet, and reminds you to always be confident with exactly who you are.

I really enjoyed this, I found myself laughing along and dancing like a nerd to the Ghostbusters song at the end. What an amazing family Josie has, I loved every single one, and boy what a family history, and what a conversation starter. I was really rooting for Josie and Cameron, and what a twist when we discover his own little secret. Nan was amazing, and I loved how she went 100% at everything. Sonny and Josies sibling bond was great too, her rescuing in from a lamp post was hilarious.
This was my first by this author, and I will certainly be looking for more.

Funny, quick read involving Ghostbusters, a Sex Toy Business, Ex Porn Stars, and a video game designer.
Josie was such a likable, strong female main character. I love how much of a girlboss she is and enjoyed reading about the many supportive people around her even if she didn't feel as amazing as she was. It was also touching to see her as a great sister who truly cared about her family.
Although this has a sexy title, it was definitely a sex-positive story, but without the spiciness. The romance did not play as big of a role in the story as the title and book cover suggested, but in a good way. It was more about Josie and how she dealt with her previous experiences affecting her love life and the growth that came with learning how to accept herself fully as she navigates through a relationship with a partner!
We meet Josie who is broken hearted and always putting others first. Her brothers party leads to a chance encounter with a man dressed as a ghostbuster.
Josie is afraid to reveal the truth about him after she has been left in the past. Will she be brave and allow Cameron in?
A light easy and laugh out read.
Oh Josie! She's hidden her family from Cam because well, it's not that she's embarrassed, it's that, well....they are ex-porn stars in the sex toy business and that just creates all sorts of expectations. This is a spirited and actually funny rom com that is, as others have noted, sex positive. The characters are good (I loved Josie's parents) and the storytelling is fine. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. A fun read.
If you have read a Kristin Bailey book before then I don’t need to tell you how bloody hilarious this book is. Nobody does comedy quite like this. I was laughing so much in parts that I couldn’t breathe and was gasping for air with tears running down my face. Characters find themselves in the most outrageous and ridiculous of situations.
Not only is this book laugh-out-loud funny but I also fell in love with the romance in this. Josie and Cameron are the most endearing characters, and I was routing for their relationship to blossom from the start.
✨So this ended up being a little different to what I was sexpecting (I couldn’t resist🫢) but it was a great read!
✨It’s the perfect book if you need a pick me up. It’s SO funny and I laughed out loud numerous times and the love story is super cute🥰!
✨I absolutely loved every single character (bar Mike and Cam’s family, f*** them🖕🏼). They were all written so well and I totally wanted to be apart of the family! Nan was my absolute favourite character. She’s hilarious.
✨The message I took from the book is not to be ashamed of who you are and also, don’t be ashamed of sex…. there’s a lot of talk of willies, dildos and sex toys throughout😏.
✨Overall it’s a super light, easy funny, romantic read and I loved it! I’d definitely recommend it to anyone and will be picking up more of Kristen’s books!
I absolutely LOVED everything about this book. From the main character Josie who is just everything ! From her geekiness to her dedication to her family. She was a character I felt was made totally relatable. Minus the having parents who used to be porn stars, and then went on to open a business exclusively for sex products which has become extremely successful called the Love Shack.
Now this isn't something that seems as if it may cause problems to one adult woman's life but she's already been left by a man who laid blame on her parents past as to why he couldn't marry her. Then in comes Cameron, oh sweet Cameron. Honestly in my head I imagined a beautiful Adam Brody with a wicked english accent. He's a perfect match for Josie, but she's scarred from the past.
This super sweet love story was just what I needed this week. Makes me want to spend a Friday in with a tub of popcorn and Ghostbusters on my TV ! Such a gem of a read.
I have read a book by Kristen Bailey before and what I have noticed is that she is consistent in writing in a long-winded, too much description, too much unnecessary information kind of way which definitely is not for me. This book is too long for what it is and I definitely had a hard time focusing because it's too bland for my personal taste. I never felt connected with the main character and the only thing that's interesting about her is her job.
Kristen Bailey has done it again!! First off, I completely devoured this book. Like...in under two hours kind of devoured. It takes a lot for a Romcom to make me laugh but there were several times throughout this book that I was laughing out loud to myself. The characters are extremely loveable and the amount of sex EDUCATION this book provides is exemplary.
Josie's parents are ex-porn stars and she works for a sex-toy company...her fiance dumps her with a note on the fridge because apparently all of this is too much for him to handle. What ensues next is Josie's journey to starting a new relationship, even if she's a little afraid of what people might think when they find out about her unusual family situation. It's chalked full of awkward, but endearing moments of full-on family-induced cringe that I loved.
Such a great read!
Great Sexpectations by Kristen Bailey was one of the best romantic, laugh out loud books this year. I enjoyed Josie and Cameron's story. I liked the sex positive focus in the book and the overall stories involved. Not only was this book hilarious, there were so many sweet and caring moments too. This story exceeded my expectations!
I really liked this book! The comedy in this book was top-tier! I think that the ensemble of characters was just absolutely perfect, everyone felt like they were real people. I loved how there was a perfect mix of Josie's work life and her romantic life. I wish we got to know Cam a little bit more and about what he does for work, but that is not a big gripe. I usually really detest the miscommunication trope, but I really did like it in this book and you could tell how upset with herself Josie was due to the entire situation. I think that the conflict that happens in this book also felt really real and it broke my heart at times because we are shown time and time again how much Josie loves both Cam and her family, My biggest gripe is that while this book praises sex positivity and it is filled with knowledge about sex toys and the porn industry when it comes to the sex between the two characters it was fade to black. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and it was a fun read! 4.25 stars! Thank you so much to Netgalley and Bookouture for this free ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I would probably rate this a 3.75, so rounded up to a four. It was entertaining, and although I didn’t like some of the choices the characters made, I mostly liked them all. I’m not sure if it was the formatting of my file, but sometimes it was confusing when in the middle of narration, there would be obvious thoughts from Josie, but besides that, it was a good read. I enjoyed Josie finally getting over her ex and what he said about hers and her parents’ professions in the adult film/adult toy store business. Loved her nan a lot!
Oh how I did love this book! I have to admit to being slightly heartbroken by the ending of the Callaghan sisters but I shouldn't have worried, this book has definitely filled that gaping hole that was left by the Callaghan's.
In comes Josie Jewell, along with the rest of the Jewell family and I adored every single one of them. Kristen Bailey just has the knack of creating the families that you would love to be friends with.
Josie is slightly embarrassed about her family after her boyfriend Mike left her, he stated that he couldn't get past what they did. Josie's parents were in the adult film industry when Josie was younger, they then set up a business which sells sex toys, which had then passed down to Josie when they retired.
The story starts at a party where film buff Josie is dressed as a Ghostbuster, she meets a fellow Ghostbuster, Cameron and a romance starts along with Josie stretching the truth slightly about her family and job. You can see that Josie is falling in love with Cameron but the truth is being stretched a fair bit and she begins to panic that he will eventually find out the truth.
I enjoyed the twists and turns of this book so much and just adored every single one of them, especially Josie's grandma. You really hope that Josie can find the courage to be truthful about her life. This book made me laugh out loud, so many times, that my family kept asking what I was laughing at and I loved that about it.. You really must read this book this summer, you will not be disappointed
4.5/5 ⭐️
1.5/5 🌶
This one was slow starting but once it picked up, it was amazing! Josie runs a “personal item” shop *wink wink nudge nudge* (I don’t want IG to take this down!). She meets Cameron at a party and they hit it off right away. They are both geeks, which I adored! She hides her work and her parents’ previous work in the adult film industry, from him. As you can imagine, that is a big part of the story, hiding her secret. Her grandmother (Nan) is HILARIOUS! The book is fun and flirty and I had so many literal laugh out loud moments. Don’t worry, there’s a HEA, and it’s the perfect ending.
