Thank you to Penguin Teen for an eARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.
I meant to read this one a while ago, but I slacked! Since this has already been released I listened to the audiobook. I really enjoyed this collection of stories about monsters and other supernatural/paranormal creatures. I loved Patrice's other anthology A Phoenix First Must Burn and was so excited to see another one. I do wish this one had a story by her!
This anthology is a mix of BIPOC and queer (sometimes both) authors/characters. I definitely enjoyed the queer stories better, though I did highly enjoyed Akshaya Raman's story about the asuras! My favorite stories were Who Will Save Me by Julian Winters, Bloody Lovely by Casey McQuiston (which features a trans MC), Kiss the Boy by Adib Khorram, Piano Sonata No. 13 by Kalynn Bayron, Bride-Heart by Marie Rutkoski, and A Thousand More by Chloe Gong.
The only story I actively disliked was Hafsah Faizal's. The MC is a boy and it was very the prince saves a damsel energy which I'm not here for. I think the world needs more girl monsters and more girl monsters who love being monsters. So this story was a no for me.
I loved so many of these characters and stories. I definitely recommend this anthology.
CWs: Blood, death, gore, abuse, violence, cursing, past addiction mention, death of parent, murder, gaslighting.
A supernatural romance anthology that lives up to best in both genre in format, Eternally Yours has the distinction of living up to being precisely what it bills itself to be. Each story pulls you into a new relationship and character dynamics that fill the short space allotted without feeling either ill-paced or as if they are excerpts from a larger story. I enjoyed each of the paranormal relationships represented and my ability to read new works by authors I like while also checking out authors I've had on my to-read list.
I loved the collage of stories that made up this book! Each was so unique and had a different take on what love looked like in the form of a love story. The supernatural aspect to each of the stories was so intriguing and I loved the small details incorporated into them even though they weren’t entire books.
A collection of short stories perfect for the spooky season. Great representation of BIPOC authors and characters. The only downfall is the fact that the stories felt rushed due to the novella format.
A spooky book filled with a bunch of romance short stories. Perfect for October spooky season. I liked some stores better than others, for example I loved Chloe Gongs story.
The main problem with short stories is we as the readers don’t have enough time to fully get into the story because it’s so short but overall if you love YA it’s a great way to read something new from your favourite authors or maybe find a new author you may like.

4*
Pros: A collection of short spooky stories perfect for Fall and Winter times. Filled with worlds created by some of our favourite YA authors. Diverse, PoC authors and representation, tackles a myriad of emotions and experiences. Very refreshing new takes and retellings of beloved spooky tales.
Cons: Too much insta-love and fast conclusions, due to their short format.
As some of you all know, I’m a sucker for an anthology (this post tells you that) and Patrice’s last anthology, A Phoenix First Must Burn, was so good and this one didn’t disappoint either. We got vampires, undead, witches, and other monster love stories without a scary edge to them (I’m a scaredy cat, I’m not ashamed to say that). As usual, I did have a favorite story but I rather you all read and then tell me what YOUR favorite was (see what I did there? *wink*). Patrice has completely cemented why I would read any anthology she edits and books she writes!
I think overall I have to give anthologies like this a 3 star because some of the stories are great and I could read entire books based on them, and some of them fall flatter for me.
I loved Eternally Yours, edited by Patrice Caldwell! This collection features fifteen stories of paranormal romance and it's full of amazing authors!
Kendare Blake, Chloe Gong, Julian Winters, Alexis Henderson, Sandhya Menon, Sarah Gailey, Marie Rutkoski, Akshaya Raman, Adib Khorram, Kalynn Bayron, Melissa de la Cruz, Kat Cho, Hafsah Faizal, Casey McQuiston, and Anna-Marie McLemore all contributed stories to this collection! If you read YA, I'm sure you'll recognize quite a few of those names and already be a fan of at least a few of those authors.
I enjoyed Eternally Yours more than any other short story collection I've read this year! All of the stories kept my interest. I actually listened to the audiobook and there were quite a few talented narrators that brought these stories to life! Some of my favorites were "Katrine and Rowan's Exit Interview" by Sarah Gailey, "Piano Sonata No. 13" by Kalynn Bayron, "My Demon Prince Charming" by Sandhya Menon, and "Bloody, Lovely" by Casey McQuiston. I can absolutely see myself rereading this collection! I'd highly recommend checking out Eternally Yours if you're a YA reader or looking for a great short story collection!
I just really had a lot of fun with this short story anthology. My favorites stories were from Julian Winters, Akshaya Raman, Adib Khorram, Kaylynn Bayron, Hafsah Faizal, and Casey McQuiston. And I also really enjoyed the stories from Chloe Gong, Melissa de la Cruz, and Anna-Marie McLemore.
This just brought me so much joy; I read this and laughed out loud, let my tears flow free and easy, and filled up my hopelessly romantic heart..
This was overall solid! I would adore an anthrology that just had great short stories after another but there were definitely some stories I just had to skim over. I really liked reading these though! I liked Casey Mcquinston's and Chloe Gong's stories the most if I had to choose.
An anthology of supernatural love stories that will send a shiver down your spine, ETERNALLY YOURS is the perfect spooky and romantic read for autumn!
I was so excited to read this book! So many of my favorite authors are featured, and I knew I was really going to like it. I really enjoyed everyone’s stories in this collection, but some of my personal favorites were the stories by Chloe Gong, Anna-Marie McLemore, Adib Khorram, Hafsah Faizal, and Casey McQuiston!
Some stories in this were really solid, while others bored me to tears - and I feel like, this is not unusual to anthologies. Even though I am always hoping to read one that will have bangers after bangers of short fiction, there are always some that are duds and this collection had quite a few that were either confusing, bland or boring. However, I do want to say that the ones that were good really hit. My favourites within the collection were A Thousand More, If You Give An Asura A Cookie, Piano Sonata No. 13 and Bloody, Lovely. All of these were brilliant in execution with an interesting plot line, characters with depth with a story that made sense and worked for the limit page space. Those that did not hit lacked all of these things and felt really underdeveloped (some were also super cringey). However, I did enjoy that all the stories touched on differing paranormal folklore and it was fun to read them and guess where they were going (or - learn about new mythology). I did read this all in one day so I can definitely vouch for it being a quick read if you need something light and fluffy.
Thank you to Penguin Teen for providing me with an e-ARC of Eternally Yours & PRH Audio for providing me with a complimentary audiobook!
This book is made for lovers of YA Paranormal Romance; young & old, alike. If you grew up loving The Mortal Instruments & maybe miss the feels that the series gave you, I definitely feel like this book is right up your alley! Eternally Yours is a collection of stories from well-known names in the YA Community & features several different Paranormal Romance tropes. There are ghouls & vampires, along with merfolk, angels, and demons. The stories in this collection are so much fun!
Thank you so much, NetGalley, PENGUIN GROUP Penguin Young Readers Group, Viking Books for Young Readers, for the chance to read this amazing anthology in exchange of an honest review.
Fifteen amazing authors explore love in its many forms in this brilliant and gorgeous anthology and I truly enjoyed every single story. Mortals, werewolves, vampires, angels with their charges, demons, the world imagined is fantastic, well written and so immersive. Unexpected dates, forbidden islands, creatures from legends, between mortal and immortal worlds, past and present.
This collection of stories is unbelievably good, filled by many of my favourite authors, it was like it was destined for me! I loved everything!
I LOVED the different authors that were provided with this read. It was such a unique concept to hear all different writing styles. Numerous stories, one book, sign me up! I was able to read new authors that I am not aware of and fell in love with their writing. I cannot wait to get my hands on a physical copy!
Just like all anthologies, there are some stories I loved and some that I didn’t love. I thought it was really great that so many of these creatures were creatures I had never heard of or read in a story before.
Here are my ratings for each story:
• Undead Ghoul Meet-Cute by Kendare Blake
- 4⭐️; I’ve never read a ghoul story before! It was cute.
• A Thousand More by Chloe Gong
- 4⭐️; Once again, I’ve never read a reincarnation story before. I love the historical aspects of this, and I definitely want to read more from Chloe Gong.
• Who Will Save Me by Julian Winters
- 3⭐️; Cute, but maybe angels aren’t really my thing.
• In the Eyes of Angels by Alexis Henderson
- 2⭐️; Again, angels are not my thing, especially ones that look like these.
• My Demon Prince Charming by Sandhya Menon
- 3⭐️; This didn’t really tickle my fancy.
• Katrine and Rowan’s Exit Interview by Sarah Gailey
- 2⭐️; I’m very confused about this story and what kind of creature this was. This might be a cool full length novel.
• Bride-Heart by Marie Rutkowski
- 5⭐️; Love the horror vibes!! Also a creature I had never even heard of.
• If You Give an Asura a Cookie by Akshaya Raman
- 5⭐️; I love the trope of meeting once a year AND falling for someone who’s identity you don’t know.
• Kiss the Boy by Adib Khorram
- 5⭐️; I need a full length novel of this!!
• Piano Sonata No. 13 by Kalynn Bayron
- 5⭐️; Moral dilemma, is killing bad people still wrong?
• Once Upon a Time in Charleston by Melissa de la Cruz
- 4⭐️; Cute coffee shop story, no resolution at the end.
• Pierce My Soul by Kat Cho
- 5⭐️; YES
• Banes and Blessings by Hafsah Faizal

UNDEAD GHOUL MEET-CUTE by Kendare Blake
4/5 - LOL, the only instance when instalove is fine is when it involves a ghoul head in a bag. A fun opening jab at the genre.
A THOUSAND MORE by Chloe Gong
3/5 - Rather bland soul mate fair.
WHO WILL SAVE ME by Julian Winters
1/5 - No thank you for me. Confusing characterizations of gay guardian angels.
IN THE EYES OF ANGELS by Alexis Henderson
2/5 - I read this yesterday and had already forgotten everything about it. That says a lot. Rebelling angels seeking refuge. Meh.
MY DEMON PRINCE CHARMING by Sandhya Menon
4/5 - Now this is what I wanted. Demons, witchcraft, love, and mean girls. I would read a full novel of this. As a short story it is very hurried, but still intriguing. Menon's writing is so easy and natural.
KATRINE AND ROWAN'S EXIT INTERVIEW by Sarah Gailey
1/5 - Maybe it was the Kindle formatting, but I had no idea what was going on. Magical Lord of the Flies with LGBT romance? I think?
BRIDE-HEART by Marie Rutkoski
3/5 - Felt very predictable. I wanted it to much creepier than it was, but it was fine.
IF YOU GIVE AN ASURA A COOKIE by Akshaya Raman
3/5 - Fun, but also predictable. I personally could have used more background info on Asuras.
KISS THE BOY by Adib Khorram
4/5 - Instalove to the max, but the characters are so good. Merfolk with lore I would love to dive deeper into (pun intended).
PIANO SONATA NO. 13 by Kalynn Bayron
2/5 - I love the music summoning demon angle, but I didn't understand the instalove in this case. Why did she love them?
ONCE UPON A TIME IN CHARLESTON by Melissa de la Cruz
2/5 - Fine. I suppose it would have been more enjoyable if you had known the characters from the Blue Bloods book series first.
PIERCE MY SOUL by Kat Cho
3/5 - Solid vampire fare. I appreciated the fact that they didn't sparkle.
BANES AND BLESSINGS by Hafsah Faizal
3/5 - Lore I had never heard of before. Interesting.
BLOODY, LOVELY by Casey McQuiston
4/5- cute spin on Bloody Mary.
LA BRUJA Y LA SIRENA by Anna-Marie McLemore
1/5- This author is not for me. I’ve tried a few of their titles and didn’t care for the writing style. This Little Mermaid tale is no exception.
I loved this mashed up YA anthology. Short ordinal stories. It’s definitely good for any season, but definitely spooky season as it has vampires and more.
Each story had a different mood and setting to them. There’s a Bloody Mary story I particularly liked, since that’s a well known Urban Legend and one I’ve known since my childhood.
As I’ve said a taste of different stories that were atmospheric and well executed.
I really enjoyed this anthology. I think I loved that there was something for everyone. Even if there was a story I didn’t like there were plenty so I was able to enjoy quite a few of them. I like that they were cute quick romances. This would be a fun book to keep by the bed and read a story a night leading up to Halloween.
