Super cute little book that I can see many patrons enjoying. I loved the friendship and the coloring of each panel in the story.
In this new early graphic novel series, BFFs Albert and Pickles embark on a camping trip together. It's clear from the beginning that they have different expectations for the trip, with Albert looking for a more outdoorsy and traditional camping experience and Pickles expecting to have a fully equipped cabin and a jacuzzi. These differences in expectations cause a bit of disagreement between the friends, but that is put on hold when they encounter first a baby koala, then their friend Platters the platypus who is searching for a dangerous beast in the woods. There is plenty of humor as the group looks for the koala's mother and by the end all see the value of their friendship and of enjoying the beauty of nature. Enjoyable graphic novel for early elementary age readers who will be looking for more Albert and Pickles adventures in future books.
I received an electronic ARC from PENGUIN GROUP Penguin Young Readers Group through NetGalley.
Readers get to travel along as Albert and Pickles head to the woods to camp. From the start, the two have very different opinions of what camping is. Readers will enjoy the humor as Albert is a minimalist and Pickles has a full luggage cart. These friends enjoy several adventures including finding their third friend, Platters, and rescuing a baby koala (though this baby is rather self sufficient). By the end, readers see how important their friendship is and they find a way for everyone to have a good time exploring nature. Don't miss the humor in the artwork details.
