This is the second book in the Nothing’s Ever series and the first book I’ve read by this author. The plot was great and I felt like I was right there in Peak Valley with them. Wished this book was longer.
LeAnna had big dreams which involves leaving Peak Valley. But when her dad gets sent to prison and her mom leaves town, she steps up to raise her baby sister Gigi. Determined to give her a good life, LeAnna has a great job at an accounting firm, and an even better best friend Dylan. Dylan has loved LeAnna since they were 7 but was afraid to ruin their friendship by letting her know. LeAnna finds out her boss is selling the firm and her ex just bought it. With Xavier back in her life, he stirs up some secrets of her past, and he also wants her back. So she says that she’s with Dylan now and Dylan believes this is his chance to show her how much he loves her.
This book is full of hope, love, secrets, suspense and emotional in this friends to lovers book. I can’t wait to read more from this author.
I received the arc and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
3.5 stars! Quick and sweet read. I wish I could have gotten to know the characters a little more, but this was still super enjoyable. Loved Dylan and LeAnna together and how their story unfolded. LeAnna’s perseverance is super admirable, and I adored how Dylan respected the fact that she had to put Gigi first. Great story with wonderful small town feels. *I received an ARC in exchange for my honest review.
LeAnna was a teenager when she became responsible for raising her baby sister, Gigi. She knew that life wasn’t always fair and this was especially true when her father was sent to prison. She has a good job at an accounting firm, but once again her world is rocked when her boss sells the business. Will she still have a job? Her only constant has been her good friend, Dylan Montgomery. Dylan has loved LeAnna since they were children, is always there for her, but believes that she only sees him as a good friend. When her wealthy ex-boyfriend purchases the business, will she still have a job? When he expresses an interest in revisiting what they once had, she claims that she is involved with Dylan. Dylan is thrilled as this gives him a chance to show her how much he cares. LeAnna faces another unexpected challenge, but this time she has the support of her friends and Dylan. A charming “best friends to lovers” romance. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)
This was my first book by Amanda Lee Dixon.
I enjoyed the story but had issues with some of the grammar. I ignored it for the most part and was able to read this story super fast. It captivated me from the start and kept my attention all the way through.
Let me just say that that ending is everything! I loved it. That solution was *chef's kiss.
I'd read more of this series so I'd recommend it.
We are back in Peak Valley! LeAnna has not had it easy raising her sister Gigi from infancy. But, she has worked hard, has a solid job, and is thriving. All of this is about to change, her ex is back in town and has purchased the firm where she works.
Dylan has loved LeAnna since childhood but never acted on it. He valued the friendship too much and hopes someday she will feel the same.
Changes are happening at work, and Gigi gets herself in a spot at school. LeAnna’s not sure what to make of her future. There are some suspenseful moments as secrets start to come to light. We do get cameos from our favorite residents of Peak Valley. I cannot wait to see what happens next.
Thank you to the Author for the advanced copy; this is my voluntary review.
I’ve been in love with LeAnna since the day I met her when we were seven. I still remember the day like it was yesterday.
Dylan is still in love with her after all these years. He always knew that one day he would take a chance and hope she would reciprocate.
LeAnna hasn’t had a easy life. She raised her sister from a infant. When her ex takes over the firm she works for a things take a turn.
This is a sweet romance with some suspenseful moments. Always glad to be back in one of my favorite small towns.
This small town of Peak Valley sure has a lot of evil crazy people but the good ones keep me coming back every time.
