It's been such a joy to read this series and everything Helena Hunting surprises me with how much she makes me care about these characters!
I cried so much in this book, the single dad trope always opens it's door to something i will call a micro trope of where the guy is a single dad because his spouse passed away.
That really lends it self to tug at my heartstrings.
Harley was such a sweetheart, absolutely loved her character's personality and her growth in the book.
Gavin was sweet and I enjoyed reading his POV. He was a great dad and he really had a lot of growing to do.
Payton was so cute, great use of a child character!

Make a Wish is the final book in the Spark House trilogy, and it is finally time for Harley to get her HEA. I've been waiting for her story and to meet her perfect match since book 1, and it certainly didn't disappoint! Gavin and Harley's romance is sweet, sexy, and full of laughs, which is why Helena Hunting is one of my favourite authors.

In Make A Wish we get Harley’s story. She’s always wondered what her exact role is within Spark Hose. She loves her sisters dearly but sometimes she feels unheard. She loved being a nanny until the incident with Gavin 7 yrs ago. Since then she’s thrown herself into making the business run well with her sisters. While hosting the last child birthday party at Spark House, she’s confronted with her past when Gavin brings his daughter Peyton to the party. Gavin seems excited to see Harley while Harley is internally freaking out. Over the next weeks/months, Harley and Gavin plan times for her to spend time with Peyton. Lines are blurred and feeling will have to be addressed. Of course Harley’s family have a lot to say, but she’ll have to figure out how to handle this situation on her own.

I received the ARC! This troupe isn't one of my favorites, but I do love a single-dad story. All three Spark sisters deserve the best. This is Harley's story.



Harley loves children and is a child at heart. Gavin is a protective dad who is heartbroken over the loss of his wife. His daughter Peyton needed a caretaker, and Haley was the nanny to do it.



Sparks started to fly due to close proximity. Gavin decided to move Peyton, his daughter, closer to his in-laws once the boundary was crossed.



Several years later, they have a chance encounter, and the flame has relit. He's got to move past his baggage, and she's got hers.



Will they find their way to creating a new family of broken pieces put together to make something beautiful?



I recommend! It will give you all the feels.

Truly enjoyed this emotionally charged read from Helena Hunting. Loved the character dynamics, particularly between the sisters.

Make a Wish is the third and the last book of Helena Hunting’s Spark House series. This was a fantastic end to a great series. After the significant loss, the Spark sisters had to face, it was heartwarming to see all of them get their HEAs.

Harley is the youngest of the three sisters. She is sweet, dependable, and always there for the people she loves. She was young when she lost both of her parents to a horrible accident. Her sisters were always there to support her no matter what. Harley was always good with kids and loved to spend time with them. Even when she is younger, she was babysitting but after her last live-in nanny job, she quit both school and nannying. Now she is running their family-owned event hotel, Spark House, with her sisters. But lately, with all the changes that Spark House is going through, she feels like she is not needed. Especially after they decided to stop organizing kidlet parties. At her last planned party, she ran into two faces she hadn’t seen for a long time and never thought she would see them again, Gavin and Peyton. It has been seven years since the last time Harley saw them was before they moved out of town. Gavin is a fantastic father. Losing his wife in an unexpected tragic way, he was faced with mourning the loss of his wife and taking care of a baby at the same time. That is when Harley entered their lives and made everything more bearable. However, Gavin had to choose Peyton and himself which led them to move out of town. Now after seven years, he is back in his hometown and not expecting to run into the person who helped him immensely when he needed the most. Moving back to town has been hard for Peyton since there are only a few people she knows and when they reconnect with Harley, she is always begging Gavin and finding ways to meet with Harley. The bond between Peyton and Harley is strong and I loved the relationship they have. As for Gavin and Harley, there is a lot of chemistry but also too many misunderstandings and baggage between them. Seeing them slowly building their relationship was sweet and sometimes heartbreaking.

Make a Wish was a charming and heartwarming story that I wasn’t able to put down. Also, it was great to see a bit of Avery & Declan, London & Jackson with adorable Ella and all the happiness Spark’s sister had. It would have been great to get the behind-the-scenes story of Trent and Selene. I was kind of suspicious about them ending up together and it would have been great to read more about them. Maybe a novella? 😊

The third and final book in the Spark House series did not disappoint. Harley has been a voice of both positivity and reason throughout the whole series but overall lacked dimension, as some side characters do. It was really fun to be able to see under the cheerful surface of the youngest Spark sister.

Harley is struggling to find her place in the new Spark House dynamics. Since taking on a partner, her older sister’s new billionaire husband, and starting to research franchising the boutique event hotel her family has owned and run for generations Harley feels like she’s been displaced. Her old job as social media coordinator has been taken over by a professional in her brother-in-law Jackson’s company. The side gig of hosting children’s fantasy birthday parties has been cancelled by majority vote for being (not making money). She’s not sure what her role is anymore.

So when a ghost from her past she would have been happy never seeing again shows up to the last birthday event she’s hosting, Harley is already vulnerable to cling to good memories of the past. Gavin was widowed when his wife died in childbirth leaving him the unexpected single father of an infant girl. Harley stepped in to nanny Peyton and was with them for a long time until one night the lines blurred and in a sleep-deprived moment nearly kissed Gavin. When he moved away and cut ties with her a few days later, Harley always assumed the almost kiss was the reason why.

Peyton, having recently moved away from the only home of her memory, clings to Harley and the memories she has made through looking through her baby books. There’s an instant connection between the two and Peyton acts as both a driving force and a roadblock in the developing relationship. She’s constantly pushing them together but like any decent adults, they don’t want to confuse the lines and boundaries for her until they’re more sure of their relationship.

I really loved this book. It was the perfect ending to this series. Helena Hunter is excellent at balancing humor, emotion, and heart. I can’t wait to see what she does next.

I always have a great time reading Helena's books. I was not a big fan of the cover only because I am all about them men and couples but the story made up for it. I really enjoyed the H&H way to one another and the laughs along the way.

This was my fave of the series I think - it hit some of my favorite tropes and it was just so stinking cute! I love Helena's books and can't wait to read more

The finale of the Spark House series was an emotional one, which handled loss and grief, but also how you can find happiness in the wake of that. Harley and Gavin were the case of right person wrong time, but life has a funny way of bringing you back to each other if you're meant to be.

Don't get me wrong--I was enjoying the book all along, but OMG that ending. I was practically sobbing! (In the best way, at least ;))

Make a Wish brings the Spark House series to a lovely conclusion. Each sister's story could probably stand on its own--this one could, for sure--but they're all delightful in their own way so IMHO reading them all in order is the way to go. That way when things happen to/with her older sisters here, they have more of an emotional impact on the reader. #yourewelcome

Overall I really enjoyed Harley and Gavin's book--single parent romances are 100% my jam, especially when the kids involved feel like real characters and not just mini plot devices. I loved that Harley stood up for herself--to Gavin, to his MIL, to her sisters (though especially in the case of her sisters, it took almost a *little* long to get to that point). I liked how (eventually) Harley was able to finally find a meaningful way to contribute to the family business, doing something she loves with the family she loves. And--gah!--I believe I mentioned that the ending had me in tears, yes? ;)

I thought Ms Hunting did a lovely job of portraying Gavin as a young, grieving father. His MIL was a piece of work, though--the layers of guilt on both their sides made their actions fairly believable, but her name here (Karen) was almost *too* on the nose. Given how awful she was 95% of the book, I'm not entirely sure her redemption was quite enough. Let's just say that both Gavin *and* his MIL needed therapy a lot sooner than they get it--better sooner than later, but still.

I wasn't crazy about the emotional cheating that Harley puts her boyfriend through--it's perfectly obvious (to everyone but Harley and Gavin, apparently; they were pretty obtuse for a tad too long) that there's something there--even though it's just as clear that Chad isn't the guy for her, he deserved her honestly long before he gets it. She does own up to it and apologizes at least, so there's that.

I read this in a day--literally couldn't put it down!--which tells you that even despite the parts I wasn't crazy about, I was completely invested. I loved seeing all the Spark sisters together once more, and the glimpses we get into Avery and London's HEAs were wonderful.

And did I mention the ending? ;)

I have loved all the Sparks sister books (and the ties to the Shacking Up series) and I was sad to bit farewell to them in Make a Wish. Although single dad is not my favorite trope, I do love a good second chance romance - and of course, I love anything Hunting writes!

I loved this book so much ! Gavin and Harley are so amazing , I love the growth Harley has in the book and Gavin yum yum I don’t know where to begin with him , he was such a great dad and I just loved Peyton , you could see how special Peyton and Harley’s relationship was and I loved seeing the connection grow and them getting into a relationship,

A second chance romance with the most loveable characters!!! This book delivers with Helena's unique spicy charm. You will find yourself feeling secondhand embarrassment, laughing out loud, your heart hurting, and asking if the heat got turned up. Harley and Gavin are the most swoon-worthy couple and I loved reading their story!!

Make a Wish is the third and final book in the Spark House series. I really enjoyed this series by Helena Hunting. I can’t get enough of these sisters and am glad to be back with these characters. Harley and her sisters have made their hotel into the place they have dreamed of. Now with an entire team to do her job she doesn’t know what she’s supposed to do. I loved Harley and Gavin’s story so much. I adored the kids and everything they had to go through. Make a Wish has moved to my favorite book of this series. This book can be read as a standalone. You might as well read the entire series you won’t regret it. Must Read!

Absolutely delightful! A second chance achieving happiness as you finally find your soulmate again. Helena does a magnificent job of tying her series together!

C'est avec beaucoup de plaisir que je retrouve la troisième soeur de cette famille pour découvrir son histoire et franchement j'ai adoré c'est totalement mignon et bien écrit ... que demander de plus ?
En effet, Helena Hunting nous fait totalement adopté ces personnage comme des membres de notre famille. On est totalement inclus dans leur vie et on frémit avec eux.
On fait donc plus ample connaissance avec Harley la troisième soeur qui possède cette affinité avec les enfants qui la rend sympathique et pétillante . Elle adore les paillettes et les déguisements en tout genre. J'ai adoré ce personnage plein de douceur et de générosité. Elle st altruiste au possible et d'une patience d'ange pour les enfant s mais pas que ( franchement je n'aurai pas supporter la fameuse belle-famille de Gavin !)
Gavin quant à lui est un papa model. Entièrement consacré au bien-être de Peyton sa charmante petite licorne. Il est droit et entier mais a tout de même beaucoup de mal à ouvrir les yeux sur certains sujets ( sa belle-mère, ses sentiments...). perdre sa femme quand on est juste papa est effectivement traumatisant et crée une volonté de ne plus se lier mais tout de même . Il pourrait avoir réagi un peu plus tôt mais ne dit-on pas vaut mieux tard que jamais !
Leur duo est sensuel et terriblement mignon d'autatn que Peyton prend une place énorme dans cette relation mais ils s'en sortent comme des chefs .

En bref : Encore une jolie romance que nous offre la pétillante Harley et Gavin le papa-poule. C'est bien écrit et cela donne des papillons dans le ventre . On serre les dents et on sourit , on passe par des émotions diverses et c'est juste vraiment bon !

As you would expect from Helena Hunting this is an entertaining, very well written story with characters that are just so relatable and lovable. We get all of Helena's trademark banter, chemistry and emotion that she handles so well. I love every minute of it. Her stories make me happy even when the tears run down my cheeks.

Harley and Gavin and age gap romance with a second chance twist. This story with filled with more than just second chance moments, it is filed with passion and longing. A mistake that left inner scars and changed the trajectory of Harley’s future. A chance meeting at a birthday party that Harley is organizing brings back her past heart ache, Gavin.
Gavin, a single father who ran when his attraction to the nanny became too much for him to handle after the death of his wife. Now seeing her again , he can’t help but feel that maybe he should give into his attraction and see what fate truly has in store for them.
A romantic story by Helena Hunting, that gives us a feisty yet innocent Harley and a Strong yet weary Gavin. A story that in true Hunting fashion gives us laughter, strife, passion and love. A five star read that will warm you up on those cold nights. A must read

Great read! I really loved Gavin and Harley's story, the connection they have and how their pull progresses. I was taken on that journey with them, getting to know them both, their feelings, the pain, the hurt... it all came together well while I was flipping those pages. Gavin is a single father, that love for his daughter is seen immediately and my heart twisted for them. Harley is amazing, her heart is huge, how she is, who she is, everything about her. This story hit me in the feels, having me enjoy every moment, and wanting to read the other books in this series!
