Absolutely loved The Soulmate. It kept me guessing on some twists, others I could see coming. However I appreciated how the different stories and timelines came together. Sometimes with different timeliness and character point of views can be confusing and muddled, but this was not the case with The Soulmate. Highly recommend.

Living an idyllic, small-town life in a seaside cottage, Gabe, Pippa, and their small girls Freya and Asha appear to have it all. Despite the ominous reputation of "the drop," the coastal cliff that lies just beyond the couple's house, Gabe and Pippa's dream home is everything of their wildest dreams.

That is, until the latest visitor to "the drop" is someone Gabe knows. When her plunge over the cliff sparks an investigation into her strange, apparent suicide, everything Gabe and Pippa have built is threatened--and secrets that have long laid dormant awaken once more.

For readers familiar with Sally Hepworth, she has an uncanny knack for producing binge-worthy, well-written thrillers with well-developed characters & refreshingly-original twists. "The Soulmate," while not my favorite by her, still delivers in all aspects & was a breezy delight to read.

While delving too much into the plot threatens to spoil it, this is certainly one of Hepworth's more straightforward novels. That's not to say "the twist" doesn't exist; it does, perhaps more in the form of several small twists than one jaw-dropping moment. I wasn't blown away by the story, but I still felt very immersed in it & found it difficult to put down. Thoroughly-enjoyable for readers looking for a quality popcorn thriller, this one is not to be missed!

The Soulmate goes off on so many different tangents you may want to brush up on your math skills before reading! And for such a simple title, it does take some sleuthing to guess who The Soulmate is- although it's hard to imagine Gabe (or Pippa) as the title character, since they both treat their marital vows as "suggestions." The Soulmate moves at a brisk pace, and with short chapters you'll breeze through it. Despite this, the plot deals with very heavy topics such as suicide and mental illness-both are handled deftly and poignantly. You want to justify Gabe's behavior knowing his mental challenges, but as Pippa realizes, there is a difference between mental illness and free will. What The Soulmate does best is explore the many nuances of marriage-even in the best of them can we ever fully "know" a person, and how much do we have to live with before throwing in the marital towel? The Soulmate also has an "otherworldly" subplot that is deeply moving and really has you pondering what "life" after death could be like. The mystery of "The Soulmate" is fairly easy to figure out but still feels appropriate. The Soulmate may not completely move your heart and soul, but it does give you plenty to think about.

One day, Gabe's streak of saving people comes to an abrupt finish. One woman goes over the cliff to her death. As details of the event unfold, it seems that Gabe knew this woman. His wife, Pippa begins to question things. Throughout this book, many things are revealed. There are so many twists and surprises. You will not want to put this book down so clear your schedule when you pick it up! Do you ever really know anyone, even your soulmate? Sally Hepworth writes bingeable books, and The Soulmate is no different. The story is suspenseful and interesting - I couldn't put it down! While I didn’t find the end to be anything majorly shocking (I actually prefer it not to be), it did wrap up nicely with all loose threads coming together.

Sally Hepworth does it again! This book has it all. Twists, and turns that suck you in from the get-go. It also presents some thought provoking ideas about marriage. It is well written and has good character development. Sally Hepworth is an auto-buy author for me and after reading this book it will stay that way!

Just like all her previous books, The Soulmate was interesting, unique and capturing from the jump. I think we can all agree that the tell tale sign of an amazing book is when you get fully immersed and time passes without even realizing! Sally did a wonderful job at making the characters come alive as well as creating a setting which was delightful to visit.

Do yourself a favor and pick this up in April. You will not be disappointed with all the fun twists, turns and secrets in between these pages.

After having discovered Sally Hepworth through our book club, where we read The Good Sister, where everyone enjoyed the novel, I was excited to dive in to her next story. I was not disappointed.

Two women, Pippa and Amanda seem to have the perfect lives: perfect husbands and perfect marriages. But there is more than meets the eye as the story advances.

Pip and her husband Gabe have moved from the city to a lovely beach house to start over. Unknowingly their beautiful new home has a startling backstory. Its backyard is the place where many people go to end their lives. Gabe is seen as guardian angel, pulling people back from the brink of suicide in the short time they’re lived there. Until there is one person he doesn’t save. And his wife can’t be sure he wasn’t the one to push her over the edge.

This story had a very unique narrator, Amanda, the woman who went over the edge. The story was told through flashbacks from both Pippa and Amanda’s perspectives but also followed Amanda after her death. Very reminiscent of The Lovely Bones. As we learn more about the events surrounding the last death at The Drop, we start to unravel the events from the past that led us to the present.

Even with the flashbacks and dual narrators, the story was easy to follow and captivates you from the first few chapters. A story that serves as a cautionary tale: while a marriage may seem perfect on the outside, behind closed doors, you never know what really goes on.

So I have decided that I love Sally Hepworth, her writing always gets to me. It hits those vulnerable spots, and makes you feel all the feels. And yet you think you know what’s happening, but do you really? I thoroughly enjoyed this book, the characters or endearing, the story was enthralling. I didn’t see the twist coming and I love that.

Sally Hepworth always has such a way of drawing me in from the get go - The Soulmate gripped me from page one. Told in multiple POVs and timelines, The Soulmate truly surprised me and threw some curveballs I never saw coming - another great domestic thriller from this talented voice.

Hmm, so, I've read a handful of books by Sally Hepworth now and they usually land somewhere between three and four stars for me. For the first 1/2-2/3 of this book, I was really enjoying this story of a couple, Gabe and Pippa, who buy a house on a cliff that is well known for being a popular spot for suicides - the price was right. Gabe becomes known for his ability to talk would-be jumpers off the edge... until he fails. The story is told in the past and present and from the perspective of both Pippa and the woman who went over the cliff. Secrets and twists abound as the reader learns odd the events leading up to this fateful meeting on the cliff. Overall, I enjoyed the story, though the end lacked something and felt somewhat anticlimactic. Definitely worth a read and I'll read more from this author, just not my favorite of her books.

This novel by Sally Hepworth explores the deeply flawed nature of people and shows that not everything is always how it appears. While I think the ending was a bit rushed, I still enjoyed the satisfying conclusion. Looking forward to reading more novels by this author.

Totally Twisted.

Wild, wicked, and unputdownable, The Soulmate shocked and appalled me. And yet, I loved every single minute of it.

Pippa and Gabe are a happily married couple, who move to a cliffside home by the sea. What they don't realize is that their home overlooks "The Drop" - where people go to complete suicide, by jumping off the cliff. Realizing this, Gabe takes it upon himself to help those in their time of need and talks people down from the edge. One day, however, he fails, and a woman jumps. Watching from their house, Pippa is unsure of what she just saw.

As the police investigate, the woman's name is released and the lines blur even more, as nothing is as it seemed.

Secrets, lies, and drama run rampant in this domestic thriller and I was totally there for it.

This was a buddy read with Kaceey that kept us both entertained.

As a disclaimer, this novel includes suicide, substance abuse, and mental illness.

One of my favorites of hers!! I could not put it down. I loved the characters and the twists and turns. The pov from each wife was just perfect for this story. They each were devoted to their husbands, but at what cost? Loved it! Can’t wait to share with others.

I really liked this book! It was a quick read and kept me engaged from start to finish. I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because it was quite predictable.

The house they love sits near a cliff where many have gone to end their lives by jumping off the cliff. Gabe has been able to talk many of them from this fate until one day he failed. Pipa did everything she could to console him. Things took a turn when Pipa realized she knew the woman Gabe could not save.
The story is told in such a way that I could not help but keep reading. It left me holding my breath at times waiting for what was coming next.
