I loved this book! I ended up listening to the audiobook and thought it was very well done. While it might be a little predictable at times, it is fast-paced, easy to read, and an overall good time.

Oh Sally, does the domestic suspense again! This book started off with me on the edge of my seat from the get go. Those are the books that I end up reading in one sitting, maybe two with an ice cream break in between.

Sally is a genius when it comes to intertwining all of her characters together in the most intricate of ways. The relationships between family members, friends, and strangers are never an accident.

Infidelity, mental health, married life behind closed doors, and a plot that is full of twists and turns made this a read I couldn't put down. I am already a HUGE fan of Sally and this book definitely did not disappoint.

Sally Hepworth has an incredible talent for complex, fast moving storylines with twists. She’s also amazing a developing characters in a way that keeps me turning the pages to know more about how their minds work. This one ranks up there with the Mother-In-Law for me.

I have enjoyed Ms. Hepworth's previous domestic thrillers and The Soulmate is a solid addition to her novels. I didn't mind Pippa and even Gabe for the most part but there were times when I felt like she was taking way too much crap from him. It was always something with him. I figured out part of the hook fairly early in the novel but not the reason why Amanda jumped. The ending is a bit of a shocker as well.

I enjoyed The Younger Wife and The Good Sister by this author a bit better than this one, but it was a solid read. I didn't love the characters (except the two adorable daughters and Pippa's sister and her partner) and, as with most books with dual perspectives, I was more engaged in one story (Amanda's) than the other (Pippa's). I'm also not a huge fan of coincidences in my books and this one had them a-plenty. Also . . . can we stop with the glamorization of men behaving badly?

Sally Hepworth is a master! This book was difficult to put down for sure. I think The Soulmate would make a good movie or miniseries.

The Soulmate follows the story of Gabe and Pippa, who move into a cliff-side cottage that is a notorious place where people visit to take their own lives. Gabe develops a knack for talking people back from the edge while Pippa, watching from the window, calls the authorities. When an old acquaintance dies despite Gabe’s intervention, it dredges up demons of the past that threaten to unravel a seemingly perfect marriage.

Another solid suspense book from an author that is becoming one of my favorites! I loved Amanda's POV. It was a breezy read that kept me engaged and shocked until the very end.

I know that I really like a book when I’m reading it in the drive thru, at the nail salon, at the gas station, basically always squeezing in a few words whenever I can. This was one of those books. I read it in 24 hours.

Why 5 stars:
- Quick, easy-to-read, short chapters + dual timeline/dual POV
- Two love stories for the price of one with a dash of murder… or is it murder??
- The plot was full of twists and turns that I honestly didn’t see coming! Each chapter was so short and ended with a bit-sized cliffhanger, “just one more chapter” became my mantra
- Makes me want to visit Australia (although I’ve always wanted to visit Australia)
- It’s not so much a whodunit, but more of a whatdunit. I lost track of the amount of times I said “WHAAAT” after another piece of the puzzle was revealed
- Explores two very different types of marriages… as someone who is not married, I found both very interesting and loved how everything wrapped up in the end
- In the Acknowledgements, Sally Hepworth describes the novel as “a murderous love story” *chef’s kiss*

“We trust people based on the strangest, most arbitrary things, none of which have any bearing on whether or not you are inherently good.”

The Soulmate is a domestic suspense novel full of twists, turns, and an ending that will make you literally grab at your heart. I loved every page. Please read this book and then let’s talk about it!

Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press for the ARC! This one will be hard to beat.

I could not put this book down! It was the perfect combination of twisty, suspenseful, and heartbreaking, with alternating POVs and a storyline that kept me hooked until the very end. The Soulmate was my first Sally Hepworth read, but it definitely won’t be my last!

Families shouldn’t have secrets, should they? Gabe and Pippa live in their perfect dream home, with gorgeous views on a cliff side. After they move in, they learn that the cliffs outside their yard are a sadly popular location where many seek to end their own life. When one of those visitors turns out to be someone Gabe knew - and he was talking with them moments before the end - secrets start to unravel, and it’s hard to know who to trust - and if you can trust what they are telling you. Sally Hepworth did a fantastic job in this novel with weaving a tale of secrets and lies. I recommend this to fans of family thrillers and books by Mary Kubica and Freida McFadden. Thank you to St. Martin’s Press for the advanced reading copy, receipt of which did not impact my review.

I loved the turns and layers of THE SOULMATE and the symbolic setting of the cliff--the drop-off. I'm a Sally Hepworth fan and this story doesn't disappoint!

Pippa never imagined what trouble would come with their cottage on the cliff. The cliff is a frequent spot for those wanting to end their lives and her husband Gabe has talked so many off the ledge. But when one night he isn't able to save someone, and later Pippa finds out that he knew the woman, Pippa begins to question what she thought she knew about her husband and her marriage.

I simply can't get enough of Sally Hepworth's writing. She perfectly navigates storylines from multiple perspectives and weaves a tale that always has me guessing right up until the end. Her portrayals of the family dynamic are so interesting and insightful. Another 5 star read for me!.

I received this book courtesy of the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I have enjoyed some of Hepworth’s previous work so wanted to give this one a go. This was an INCREDIBLY SLOW burn. I received the arc copy and it has taken me months to finish. For much of the book, I was disengaged. I opted to try this in audio and even then it was slow for me, but made it through.

It took over 3/4 of the book to get to a place where I had remote interest to see what happens and the portion I liked was the last 15% of the book.

If you enjoy slow burns, you may like this.

THANK YOU!! Sally Hepworth is my summer thriller queen and I eagerly look forward to her releases every single summer. The Soulmate gripped me and I literally could not put it down. It got me out of reading slump which shows the twisty nature of this book!

Thank you to @stmartinspress @netgalley for the #gifted copy of the book!

This book hooked me from the beginning. I think because mental illness is such a real part of nearly everyone's life although most of us don't like to talk about it. I could have read this one in one sitting had I not required sleep. :D I'll admit I didn't see one of the twists.

Gabe and Pippa are married with 2 girls and live near a cliff in a coastal town outside of Melbourne. Gabe has had a bunch of different jobs and most recently got fired. Pippa is a lawyer and mostly works from home. So many people come to the cliff to commit suicide and Gabe has talked so many people out of jumping until the last one. Did she really commit suicide?

Let's just say things aren't always as they seem!!

This one started out a little slow for me, but after it picked up, I enjoyed it. I liked that the story was told from two different perspectives and that the timeline went back and forth from past to present.

The Soulmate was my first Sally Hepworth novel and it won't be my last! Despite a literal cliff-hanger in the opening pages, it look a little time for me to get into the storyline because there's a lot to set up. Hepworth tells the story from several perspectives and both in the past and present. Once I got the hang of her style, I couldn't put the story down. The characters were interesting and the setting pretty unique, but I loved most the twists and turns she peppers in all the way to the end. Looking forward to exploring her back catalogue now. Thanks to #NetGalley for the opportunity to preview #TheSoulmate by Sally Hepworth - I am already looking forward to her next release!

Mediocre at best. Really felt let down by the twists. Alot of information that was used as red herrings and a lot of loose ends

I liked this thriller, and read it pretty quickly. There were some twists that I hadn’t put together, which were a surprise to read. Overall, this is a good, thrilling and bit intense weekend or summer read.
