I laughed from the very first chapter – the main character being publicly dumped on the radio is a great hook into a heart-warming romantic comedy.
And what a great name for a female MC – Perci! The Mimi quotes at the start of each chapter had me chuckling. I'd say they were the best bits, but I would be lying as there are so many "best bits", from the curvy heroine to the annoying sister, the awful parents, and the gorgeous Nate.
This will keep you entertained and is definitely a feel good, uplifting story.

After a very public break-up, Perci creates an anti New Year's resolutions list to implement a do over in her life. Stop dating, Stop trying to lose weight, Stop trying to please her mother....some of these are easier said than done!

Perci is a delightful character and I really enjoyed her journey to take back her life. Her budding romance with her neighbor, Nate was sweet and I was definitely rooting for them. But the real stand-out in this book is the relationship between Perci and her mother. The complicated dynamics of their relationship were so real and raw. It made this book hit different than other rom-com books I've read recently.

And of course, I can't forget Perci's grandmother, Mimi. Each chapter starts with a quote from Mimi offering hilarious and insightful life advice.

Definitely pick this one up if you are looking for a fun read with a solid message about being true to yourself.

A little slow to get going, but stick with it. This was a breezy fun read with charming characters and a lovely slow burn. I especially loved Mimi's dry wit.

This book had me hooked from page one. I consumed it in about one day, and it was so fun to read. I love a non-traditional MC. Have already recommended to friends!

Poor Perci gets dumped in public, over the radio no less. I really enjoyed reading her story and how she overcame the obstacle. I thought she was a strong character and well developed throughout!

Empecemos con que la protagonísta, Perci, es la mayor. Tiene una hermana menor que es esteticamente "perfecta" -sabemos muy bien que la perfección no existe-. Después de que su novio la deja POR LA RADIO, nuestra protagonista agarra su corazón partido y va aprendiendo lo fuerte que es y las cosas que le dan alegría, sin que le importe mucho lo que piense su mamá (porque tiene una de esas madres pesadas).
Todos los personajes son únicos, con voces propias y diferentes. Los amé a cada uno de ellos.
El romance entre Perci y Nate fue tierno, pero no fue mi parte favorita del libro. Me encantó la relación que Perci logró conseguir con su familia y con Lilah.
Lográs conectar con Perci de una manera muy fuerte. Empatizas con sus inseguridades y con ese sentimiento de sentirte insuficiente. Tiene una manera de ser bastante impulsiva y lloré cuando era criticada por su físico, NADIE DEBERIA SER CRITICADO POR SU FISICO, SOMOS TODES DIFERENTES. También, festejé cuando encontró su camino a la felicidad.
Este libro es muchísimo más que un libro sobre romance.

This book was just a delight. Perci's storyline is sympathetic and relatably chaotic. I love how she decides to take charge of her life and set boundaries for herself. I enjoyed her narrative voice and her unusual point of view. The fat/plus size representation was really wonderful. I loved how funny and joyful this book was!

This was really sweet. There ended up being quite a bit to enjoy about this book. The storyline was quite believable, the writing was well done, the main character was very easy to like and understand her, and the end was wrapped up very well. I also really enjoyed all the details about clothes, food, grumpy coworkers, and more. All in all, definitely would recommend

I really enjoyed this fun romcom. Perci gets dumped by her bf over the radio, he gets concert tickets!
One her friends makes an anti-resolution list for New Year’s, and Perci takes it to heart. Except maybe from the dating part after she meets her next door neighbor.
I love the characters in this book, especially Perci’s grandmother Mimi. She’s comic relief but is also a woman who tells the truth.
I recommend this book, 4 stars.

This book was heartwarming, and had me giggling. I really liked the characters, and thought they where totally relatable and realistic. It was a very bingeable read.

This is such a fun meet-cute style story, with a huge focus on overbearing families - the characters are loveable and the entire book feels very relateable. For anyone wanting a laidback but lovely read, I'd definitely recommend!

I really enjoyed this book. It was fun, funny, tense, intriguing, quick and easy to read. Would definitely recommend.

This debut novel from Sharon Peterson was at first slow to start and took at least a month to get motivated to dive deeper. It wasn't until chapter 7 when Persephone knocked on her neighbors door that the novel became more interesting and engaging. From that point forward, this became a page-turner that I finished less than a day later.

This was reviewed as a "laugh out-loud" book, but truthfully there were just a few parts I found to actually be funny. Namely the time when Persephone dressed in her daycare outfit for the dress for success presentation.

I loved the effort the author did with the Mimisims. iIt was such a cute touch. It was a different pace then the books I’d been reading but it was really refreshing.
The book was actually much deeper than I thought it would be I loved Mimi. I loved Perci’s evolution and I think this was a self love book as much as a romance one

This was a super cute read! Both characters were really likeable. The author does a great job with this story. Looking forward to reading more from Sharon M. Peterson. 4/5 stars

This is a fun, funny unexpected love story. I really enjoyed the humor throughout the story. Perci is a wonderful young woman who just can’t seem to measure up to her moms expectations. Her inter Phee is her mothers dream daughter who is beautiful and doing everything that makes her mom proud. When Percis boyfriend breaks up with her on a radio talk show, her mom is convinced it is her fault. Thankfully Perci has a Mimi that comes to her defense and always helps to keep her smiling. When Perci quits her job at the family company and decides to work in a daycare her mom thinks she has lost her mind. Will Perci follow her own dreams or will she let her mom dictate her future?

This book was such a feel good and thought provoking story. I really enjoyed it. All of the characters were extremely likable, even when involved in difficult scenarios, it was easy to hope for the best. I loved the relationship Perci had with her best friend and oh my goodness, Mimi! The best grandma to have in your corner. Thanks to Net Galley and Bookouture for sharing this book in exchange for an honest review. I had so much fun reading it.
