Thank you for the opportunity to review this new novel.

I've read the two first in this series and enjoyed them (therefore I requested this one) but this time I was a bit disappointed. In the beginning it was focus on her business and her new relationship with Juan Kevin but when she boarded the yacht with the others, those things fell away. The characters on the yacht were fun and entertaining but it was Plum's life I was more interested in.

I also felt like things that was in the story in the beginning fell away. What about the phone call from Victoria who threatened her? She just disappared from the story? The rivalry between Carmen and Alexandra? Plum's business?

It was not bad, I just wished for other things from the story. :)

The third in a series, but the first one for me! I wasn't confused though, and as a stand alone is it was good. Love the mystery aspect, as i'm a big fan of Agatha Christie. There is definitely a lot of suspense in this novel so you will want to finish to see how everything wraps up. I think the main reason I didn't give love it as much as i wanted to was the characters were completely unlikeable. I mean I didn't relate to any of them. A few spelling mistakes but other than that the writing was nice. The Yacht and the whole setting was really well depicted and I enjoyed that aspect. Perfect for mystery lovers.

-Gorgeous cover
-Great setting
-Mystery
-Suspense

This was such a good, fun cozy mystery! I’m fairly new to this genre and I was pleasantly surprised at how well written and intriguing the book was. The main character, Plum was portrayed so authentically as an amateur sleuth. I’ll be looked forward to more from the author!

I’ll be posting my full review at a later date on Instagram @on_a_sandbar as well as Goodreads

I thought this sounded like a fun read, as I enjoy cozy mysteries. Sadly, it missed the mark for me. I didn't realize it was third in a series, so perhaps that's why I struggled with it. The characters weren't as developed as I expected, and they weren't all that likeable. I did like the title (in fact, that's what caught my eye), and I liked the island setting. However, I found that the book really shouldn't be read as a standalone novel. Plum, the main character, was annoying, childish, and downright rude. As a result, I just couldn't connect with her. Many plot points didn't make sense (such as why was Plum investigating things to begin with). There were just too many times where the reader is expected to suspend reality, and it just didn't work for me.

This is the third book in the Trouble in Paradise series and it was just as fun as the other two. I really like Plum, who I feel has grown a lot since the first book. This series is set on a fictional island in the Caribbean but the author does a great job of making it feel realistic. The setting was a little different in this one, as most of the action takes place on a yacht. But there's a good cast of characters and an intriguing mystery and in true cozy mystery fashion, it's up to Plum to save the day. The only issue I had was with the lack of contractions from Plum. It made her voice at times sound inauthentic, but maybe this was just in the uncorrected proof version. I will say I feel the relationship with Juan Kevin has happened a little too fast, unless this is not planning to be a long series. He's also a tad too ordinary, and despite the issue with the dog, I actually find Damien a whole lot more interesting. He's Plum's nemesis and their scenes are a lot of fun to read, but his character while sleazy is slowly moving toward being irredeemable, which is unfortunate because I feel like there's more chemistry between him and Plum than with Plum and Juan Kevin. I'm still really enjoying this series and the covers are to die for. 4 stars. Thank you to Poisoned Pen Press and NetGalley for the DRC in exchange for an honest review.

A fun cozy mystery that takes place on an island. This is book 3 in the Troubled Paradise series. I started with this book not knowing it was series and I was not too lost. This would be a perfect beach read while on vacation!

Thank you Carrie Doyle, Netgalley and Poisoned Pen Press for my advanced digital copy in exchange for my honest review! You can get yourself a copy on January 31, 2023!

This one is third in a series, which I had no idea of! I feel like I could understand most of this book without having read the others, but my personal preference is to always read series in order.

A little bit predictable, but All in all, this was a cute and cozy mystery.

Plum Lockhart is invited/sent undercover by the local police to vacation/investigate on a yacht floating around the Caribbean, and boy does she meet an interesting cast of characters - and one of them is a murderer!

This is the third book in a series and it is always nice returning to characters. I love when books are part of a series and this one did not disappoint! It was a cozy mystery read and was well put together!

Thank you to the author, netgalley, and the publisher for this copy of the book for an exchange for an honest review!

This is the third book in the Trouble in Paradise series, and I have enjoyed this series so far. Plum (the main character) is staring to grow on me, and I really like Lucia! The mysteries are keeping me interested in the series the most, they are fun and give me all the summer vibes. With that being sad, this was my least favorite story of the three books. It definitely gave me a little Agatha Christie vibe as it was a closed-door mystery. Highly recommend this cozy mystery series!

The third book in Carrie Doyle's Trouble in Paradise! series, The Girl with the Dragonfruit Tattoo, is a fun cozy to while away an afternoon reading, and this reader did just that! Plum Lockhart is invited/sent undercover by the local police to vacation/investigate on a yacht floating around the Caribbean, and boy does she meet an interesting cast of characters - and one of them is a murderer! I had fun joining Plum in her investigations of everyone from a sleazy Hollywood producer and his wife, to a former coat check girl, a superstar singer, and even minor European royalty just to name a few. As I mentioned, it's the third in the series, and it's (in my opinion) always nice to have the characters' back stories when you start reading an established series, but I think it does well as a standalone. Loved it! A+

situational-humor, verbal-humor, snobs, snarky, Caribbean, law-enforcement, friendship, cozy-mystery, island-life, resort-hotel, relationships, relationship-issues, Loggerhead Turtles*****

The whodunit is pretty good, but the laughs are nonstop. The descriptions of everything and everyone are great, and the caricature characters had me ROFL. A nice fun read!
I requested and received an EARC of this book from Poisoned Pen Press via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. (Can't be unbiased! Love this series!)

I admit, I requested the ARC for this book solely because of the cover and title. Going in blind meant I didn't know that this was the third book in a cosy mystery series. Fortunately, it works as a standalone, even though the novice reader might miss out on some references to previous stories.

I didn't like the main character Plum, a travel agent with no police training. Why would the police send her onto a yacht where there's a murderer on the lose?

This is a a fun entry to the series. Plenty of mystery and a long list of viable murder suspect. I enjoyed the dash of romance.

Part of a series, but first l've read!

A good cozy mystery set on a yacht.
Plum's old friend Ellen comes to the island on a yacht for vaction with a wealthy music executive. When a girl with the dragonfruit tattoo ends up dead Plum is sent under cover to find out what happened!

More quirky than mystery, but an enjoyable easy breezy read. This is the third in its series, but, as I said before, reading the first two is not needed to enjoy this!

P.s. How gorgeous is this cover?

Thank you Netgallery and Poisoned Pen Press for providing me with this ARC! The book is out everywhere on January 31! Don't miss it!

Who doesn't love a cozy mystery every now and then?
I will admit the cover is what got me on this one. However I did not realize that it was part of a series.
Thankfully I wasn't too lost and it reads ok as a standalone, although now I want to read the first 2 so I can go into this one again and know if it changes my view.
It was exactly what I expected, a light and easy read. What I didn't expect - to not love any of the characters.
I wanted to like this one more than I did and I think the lack of likablility with the characters is what made this one fall flat for me.
Thank you to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for the ARC eBook in exchange for my honest review.

The Girl with the Dragonfruit Tattoo was not quite what I was hoping for. I also did not realize that it was the third book in a series of murder mysteries. It seems like it would have been helpful to have read the other books first. I found the characters to be really shallow and selfish as well as mostly interested in gaining status and wealth by whatever means they could. I grew tired of this really quickly and finally chose to quit reading after several chapters. I'm not sure how stories this frivolous and shallow make it to print. I don't mind fun, easy reads, but this book was just not good writing.

This was a really quick read for me I really enjoyed it. I read it in one sitting and couldn't put it down

On a tropical island Plum owns a rental company renting villas on the island - she also solves murders - a girl with the tattoo winds up dead after a party on a yacht - Plys steals on board the outbound yacht to solve the mirder - fun witty and light

This book was everything I wanted it to be. It had me turned pages without even realizing. It was so good!

A sweet little cozy mystery. I hadn't read anything by Doyle prior to this, including the other books in this series, but Doyle seems like a fun author. While its not a standalone book, it wasn't hard to fall into the story, but in the end it just felt like an okay read for me. perhaps cozy mysteries just aren't my thing.

Reminiscent of Agatha Christie, in the sense that Doyle manages to inject enough suspense into a quaint setting and plot.
