Although the kindle version I received was a little difficult to navigate since all the pages were split in half, I thought this book was really cute. The bright colors were attractive and the story was sweet. Would definitely recommend for toddlers to kindergarten age to have read to them. I think they’d like the bright colors and cute fish.

I was given an advance copy in exchange for an honest review. This book is filled with information and such brightly colored the illustrations are demonstrate how beautiful the bioluminescent sea life are.. The book also demonstrates the difference in having fans compared to friendship. Friends have their own unique talents to share. Fans just stand by and watch you. When his glow faded it was his friends who told him he needed to get home quickly to reenergize. The book explains the different levels of the ocean.. He gets lost going home. Once he gets there he is lonely. He misses his fans and the spotlight. He realizes he needs friendship to alleviate the loneliness. The book emphasizes the importance of friendship. A very timely and important topic. The book has a glossary st the end of the book and it has important facts about squid in general. I believe older children can read on their own or maybe with a reading buddy. Thanks to the following for an early review:
I found the book to be very fascinating, colorful and factual.

This feels in some ways like a spiritual successor to Rainbow Fish, but without the problematic bits. Learning to shine and letting your friends shine with you has never been more fun, especially in this bright and vibrant book with a lot supplementary information in the end.

This was an ARC provided by NetGalley and was read digitally so maybe I would have ranked it higher if it was a hardback or paperback and I could have seen the full page spread. While the story does have a great them of emphasizing friendship over fandom, it felt a bit flat to me. It did have some great educational facts at the end though that included some new knowledge for me, and the illustrations were good!

Loved The Glow Show by Susi Schaefer. Glow is a squid who is beautiful. He loves to show off but doesn’t let any of the other sea creatures play with him. Then he gets lost in the deep ocean. Glow learns that it’s more important to have friends than to be in the spotlight.
This is a great book for children in elementary school. It has a wonderful message about humility and friendship. I will definitely be adding this to my classroom library. Not only is the story great, but the illustrations are bright and engaging. I want to thank the author, Sourcebooks Kids and NetGalley for a complimentary copy of the book. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

This storybook feels very relevant to influencer culture and the social media focused world that young children are now growing up in.

I think the message is really important and relevant but I do wonder if it's being aimed at too early an age group.

The illustrations are quite charming and the extra facts about squids and the ocean at the back of the book added a nice educational touch.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for giving me a free digital copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review.

This is a delightful book about a bioluminescent squid that can twirl and dance. The faster he twirls the brighter he glows. How fancy! His fans love his performances and he revels in their attention and adoration. The other fish are mesmerized by his ability to glow and want Glow to teach them how it's done. In return they will reciprocate by teaching things him that they excel at. He selfishly refuses because he wants the limelight all for himself.

One day while performing and trying to gain more fans his glow fades. He retreats in shame to the lower depths of the ocean to hide. It's a dark creepy place and he feels lonely and scared. Will the friends he rejected come to his rescue and will Glow change his attitude and accept their help and teach them how to glow too?

The illustrations are colourful and expressive. Glow learns a very valuable life lesson... a real friend shares and appreciates his friends. The author includes additional facts about squids at the end of the book. Love the book and highly recommend it!

The Glow Show was a fun and engaging book about a bioluminescent squid. Instantly that had my child's attention! When he realizes that he cannot glow where the ocean is lighter, Glow the squid needs to become a better friend to the other sea creatures to get home safely. This book was a great source of information about some interesting sea creatures, and beautifully illustrated!

This was an adorable children’s book. The illustrations were bring and engaging which is what I loved most about it. I also loved the “Squid facts” at the end. The squid is not a typical stand out ocean animal and doesn’t get the spotlight much so this book was fun and different for young readers. Overall a great children’s book.

Glow is a great book about lessons to teach children. Never brag because once you have lost your friends you are going to miss them! Luckily in the end Glow returns and decides to teach his friends what he can do so they can do it too rather than bragging!

The glow show is about Glow who is a squid and he is bioluminescent. Whenever he twirls he glows! But suddenly his glow is gone! What is he going to do?

This was a cute read, and I liked the drawings. I think it has an important message, that instead of looking for fans, you shine better when you are surrounded by friends. I hope young readers like this book, because I did!

Happy reading!♥️

Cute story about learning to appreciate the things that really matter—friendship over validation. The illustrations are very cute and I really like the fun facts at the end too. Filled with positive messages and adorable drawings, I'm sure this would make a great addition to any classroom.

Thanks so much to be publishers for this ARC!!

You know a book is good when your seven year old stops pretending to be a dinosaur and walks over to listen to you read it. He jumped right in and read with me and we enjoyed looking at the illustrations and talking about the lessons being learned and the different parts of the ocean. The end pages give more facts and information which is great to satisfy curious kids. Thank you #netgalley for a copy of this book.

The Glow Show is a cute book, perfect for teaching young children about the difference between fans and friends. Glow is squid who lives in The Deep and he can twirl and glow and he has many fans. His friends ask him to teach them how to glow, just like he does, and in return, they'll teach him things they're good at. But Glow is more interested in getting new fans and leaves his friends behind. Will Glow be able to find more fans? Or will his friends have to come to his rescue?

Glow and his friends are super cute! The illustrations are colorful and captivating while the message of the story is clear. Young readers will be able to enjoy this story on their own or with a buddy! I will definitely be adding this book to my classroom library to teach students the importance of friendships. Thank you NetGalley and Sourcebooks Kids for the advanced copy. All opinions are my own.

Love the characters created. Super adorable. I love that they explore around the ocean and learn from each other. A very informative book on so many different things such as friends, fans, alot of info about the ocean like the difference in the depth and also on migration. Also lots of info on squid which is the main character of this book. Such a cute story! Love the bright colors used and the way it seems hand drawn absolutely love that all the pages are very eye catching and great use of space. Love that come back with questions for the readers/listeners absolutely love the inclusion.
