After seeing Garrett grow up throughout the series, I had high expectations for his book. However, I did not like Destiny. She comes off as too ditzy for me and wasn't my favorite heroine, but I still think this series has some great things in store.

Thanks to Kensington and Netgalley for my copy to review.

Book #15 in the Dark Protector's series. The fact that this paranormal romance series has reached #15 tells those who have not read these books just how popular they are. Each book can be read and enjoyed as a stand alone but there are over arcing story lines and characters that move through the series that you'd miss if you had not read the others. It's a very bingeable series.
Garrett is heir to the King of the Realm. Destiny is the mate chosen for him. Their dreams will clash with their reality as they find Destiny's life time will be short. There are battles, lots of battles, that will test Garrett's loyalty at the same time that he must work to find options to save his mate. The series is hot and steamy, the book cover was the first clue. This is not my favorite Zanetti series but i'm still hooked on knowing what will happen next.

Garrett finally has a book!! OK now that is out-of-the-way, let’s get on with my review. Now if you have been reading the Dark Protectors for years like I have, you have been watching Garrett from literally the beginning, and watching him grow, and seen what he’s been through, you know he needed someone special, l someone different, and Dessi is definitely someone different.

And Dessi, as soon as she showed up, she reminded me of Garrett’s mom, but not in a creepy way! There was something about her that made her seem right for the future king.

Now, I still want Garrett to keep stuff from Talen and Dage! I know that I’m probably in the minority here, but I feel like there’s a reason the Seven always hid stuff, and seeing what the Cyst have done, umm, hello, maybe we should consider they have just as many people infiltrating as the Realm does!

And now that I’ve said that, watching Garrett with Dessi was all a reader could ask, I mean, he’s a demon-vampire, of course he wants his mate safe and secure! And when everything starts coming to light! His father would have been worse!

So now I’m sitting here, oh so impatiently, waiting for another book!

This series just gets better and better. I’m might even like the Seven more than the OG Dark Protectors. Okay, that’s a lie. I love them all, truly. I feel like I’ve waited forever for Garret’s story, and it did not disappoint. I can’t wait for Hope’s book.

I waited for Garrett’s story for so long just to see him get knocked on his butt by his Destiny. It’s amazing when you realize that Zanetti has written all these books in the original series this series and the spin-offs yet nothing seems repetitive. A lot of times the author seems to change the names but RZ doesn’t. It’s new and fresh every time!

I absolutely love any book written by Rebecca Zanetti. Her writing is addictive. I definitely recommend reading this book. While it can be done as a stand alone. I would also read the other books in the series, just because it is a great series. This story has action and romance. I plan on rereading the series.

Garrett’s Destiny (Dark Protectors #15). By Rebecca Zanetti. 2022. Lyrical Press (ARC eBook).

This Dark Protectors installment sees The Realm and The Seven ramping up their efforts to kill Ulric, but the true key to his defeat could be Garrett’s mate? For years Garrett has dreamed of his dangerous and enhanced mate, but Destiny Applegate is the exact opposite. Could the two really be one and the same? Per usual for the series, there is heat, humor, and plenty of family. Destiny is a nice addition to the Kayrs family; and there is more set-up concerning Hope, Paxton and Drake, Hunter too.

Garret is one character by this author who has made multiple appearances in the previous books of this series and so I knew I had to read about him. All that only made me more crazy about this book and when his book finally came? I was all over it.

I will never get tired of reading books by this author as they are simply that addictive. Definitely recommending this one to all the dark romance loving people out there. There is nothing much dark and triggering in it but once you read this author's books you'll understand. The dark edge is there because the heroes are pretty intense and possessive but overall it is a contemporary romance .

Phenomenal!! I loved this book and Garrett & Dessie! This series has held my attention from the very beginning and I do not think I will ever get enough! RZ has such a way of building fictitious worlds that you just get sucked in and never want to come out. As with all of her books, the storyline of this one as well as all of the recurring and new characters will keep you fully engaged and highly entertained. Can’t say enough about this book! But do yourself a favor make sure you read the whole series. It’s fantastic!!

Welp. Zanetti, you did it again.

Dark Protectors was one of my first paranormal romance series so of course I’ve been impatiently waiting for every new book in the series. It’s been so fun getting to see each of the Seven find their mates in the most recent books. Getting to see how Garrett finds love and deals with it was such a fun read!

He thought he was looking for a badass biker, but when Destiny a sweet woman with a brain tumor shows up - his world is turned upside down. He has been chasing a vision for so long and when it might be true, he doubts himself. But as one of the Seven, immortals who have made a vow and fused their torsos to help protect the realm from Ulric, another immortal, but on who wants to kill all enhanced females and rule over everyone. The Seven aren’t about to let that happen though. The dimensions are breaking and all the immortal factions, from Vampires to Dragons are tense, so Garrett doesn’t trust anyone, not right now and especially not a human who shows up and says “It’s you” when seeing him.

What’s he to do? Take her for a ride and figure out what the hell is going on. But not everything is as it appears… Garrett can’t get this woman out of his head and Destiny, well she dreamed of Garrett rescuing her years ago and has never forgotten him. Sparks are gonna fly and emotions are tested in this book. All the while dealing with the impending Kurjan and Cyst trying to free Ulric from his prison world.

One more book to go and this series gets wrapped up - I can’t wait for Hope’s book, but I’m also going to be sad when all the stories have been told.

I received an advanced reader copy to leave an honest review of this book. I have read pretty much this entire series and love them all. I am a big fan of Rebecca Zanetti (both her paranormal and mystery). I would recommend if you love a good alpha male/paranormal romance. This book continues the Dark Protectors series by Rebecca Zanetti. Each book has a continuing theme but is about a different couple.

This book follows Garrett, who is part of the Seven that are supposed to basically kill the big bad (Ulric) with a ritual that may sacrifice more than they are willing to give. Garrett is the last of the Seven who finds his mate and when he does, he realizes she is completely human which makes it impossible to mate her. Destiny is completely innocent to the world; she basically grew up in an all girls school secluded on an island. But all is not as it seems with her. She is dying from a tumor in her head but also gets triggered by certain things that are unexplainable.

There is a lot packed in this book! I really enjoyed it. This one focused more on the couple than on the overall theme of the books (defeating Ulric and the Kurjans). That theme was still present but less of the focus in this book. I am really looking forward to the next book and seeing how this storyline progresses.

I enjoy reading any story in this universe. I love the character Garrett. However, I didn't enjoy Destiny. Her character was flat to me. I did still enjoy the story. Lots of the characters from previous stories. Felt like an intricate interconnected world.

Finally Garrett's book. I loved this book and seeing characters from previous books was great. I can't wait for Hope's book next year.

The stakes have never been higher than they are in Garrett’s Destiny (Dark Protectors #15) by Rebecca Zanetti. Finally, vampire-demon hybrid Garrett Kayrs may have found the mate he’s desperately searched for years in Destiny Applegate—who’s more than she appears at first sight.

I love Zanetti’s vibrant description and dynamic writing style that makes her characters and stories jump off the page. Reading Garrett’s Destiny is like watching an exciting, entertaining sci-fi/action-adventure film. The way that Zanetti builds and unravels a mystery plotline is a thing of beauty. It makes her novels fun and thrilling reads. Her action and fighting scenes are well-executed and exciting, and the suspense keeps you on edge. Lastly, her complicated characters are likable, imperfect, and well-developed.

Garrett, the nephew of the Realm’s king, is heir to the throne. Luckily, bearing that responsibility comes easy to him because fortune and fate also have marked him with the power of the Seven. However, his future is uncertain and full of surprises. Garrett’s still on the run from the Kurjan nation and has yet to discover his mate. He dreams of his mate riding his bike with him, safely under his protection. But they always become nightmares that torment him when she’s suddenly snatched away, driving him to find and keep her safe. Because he’s used to exerting control over his life, his powerlessness in this area is a problem.

Destiny more than lives up to her name. She has the strength of character to be a powerful ally or enemy to Garrett once she understands what she has been born to do. Destiny has always sensed her mate since childhood and dreamed of him. So, when she meets Garrett and recognizes him as her mate, she has no choice but to go with him to discover her destiny/path—especially since there’s a strange connection/link between them. But what if she is meant to kill him or dies before she gets to love him?

I have a weakness for romances where characters dream of each other or are connected by dreams. So, this hit that sweet spot. Zanetti deftly develops and evolves Destiny and Garrett’s relationship from enemies to lovers through intense, emotional, steamy, and sexy interactions and love scenes. From their first meeting, a fiery and instant attraction simmers between them. But, while Destiny recognizes him right away, it takes Garrett a bit longer to realize she’s his mate for reasons. I thoroughly enjoyed the story and plot Zanetti developed, centering on their relationship. When Garrett discovers she is being hunted/targeted and that her life is in danger because of the strange link between them, he makes it his mission to do whatever it takes to protect her, discover who is behind the threats, and save her.

Destiny’s story is intriguing. I love the mystery surrounding her background and whether she is an advanced female. A newspaper reporter with a knack for spotting and deciphering patterns, she’s a fascinating character and a total badass. Destiny is innocent, a little naive, and honest. Yet she’s wickedly skilled, deadly, and intelligent. I love her for Garrett. Loyal, intense, focused, and powerful, Garrett is a battle-ready warrior who’s trained all his life for the war they’ve been fighting for so long. Used to making tough decisions, he’s driven to protect those he loves. Destiny and Garrett are a perfect match—opposites that balance each other.

Each new book expands the Dark Protectors’ universe even more, adding more layers to the overarching story and the characters, their lives, and their world. Garrett’s Destiny has excellent pacing and a thrilling, suspenseful tone. The ending came about before I knew it. It raises so many new questions without addressing all of them or other standing questions from previous books in the series—probably intentionally. The next generation has come of age with central roles to play in the future of the war. And it looks like the next chapter in the dark protector series may be about to begin. I can’t wait to see what’s ahead for everyone, especially Hope and Paxton.

Steamy, passionate, sexy, and captivating, with surprising twists and revelations, and a bit of humor and angst, Garrett’s Destiny is a fast-paced, action-packed romance. I highly recommend it for paranormal romance, romantic suspense, action/adventure, and Dark Protector fans. You can read Garrett’s Destiny as a standalone because it focuses on a different couple, and Zanetti provides enough information for readers to follow the story. However, the books are connected by recurring characters and a continuing overarching storyline/mythology. FWIW, I started the series with Hero’s Haven, #11, and had no trouble keeping up. But I tend to read series out of order whenever possible.
