A well-developed fantasy world, didn't disappoint.

Garrett has been looking his mate, the last thing he expects is for it to be a little human whose days are numbered. But it looks like that's just one of all the problems they'll have to go through.

Honestly, sex scenes were not my thing here... sometimes they did the deed at inopportune moments and idk, I did not enjoy it. Though the possessiveness... 🔥I liked Garrett, his physical description, his personality, it was quite interesting and captivated me. I love that the author managed to make me want to read other characters' stories, I definitely will! Destiny was fine, sometimes I thoight she was a bit naïve but you can expect everything.

Maybe there are things you won't understand if you haven't read any of the other books (which is what happened to me) but honestly it wasn't a big inconvenience, the world of shifters is so well explained that you will understand most things.

I highly recommend Garrett's Destiny!

4.5 stars—GARRETT’S DESTINY is the fifteenth full length instalment in Rebecca Zanetti’s contemporary, adult DARK PROTECTORS erotic, paranormal/fantasy series. This is Vampire/Demon member of the circle of Seven Garrett Kayrs, and Destiny Applegate’s story line. GARRETT’S DESTINY should not be read as a stand alone. I recommend reading the series in order, or at the very least, this particular arc of the series focusing on the group of Seven beginning with book eight VAMPIRE’S FAITH, as there is a on-going premise throughout.

SOME BACKGROUND: A thousand years earlier, a number of immortal warriors went through a ritual that, if they survived, hardened their bodies against attack, a ritual meant to create a group of Seven known as The Shield. The Shield was created to protect the world from an evil race of vampires known as the Kurjans, their sect group known as the Cysts, and ultimately a rogue warrior once considered a friend- Ulric-a male of immense power. To protect the human race, Ulric was captured, and along with two of the Seven, was encapsulated in one of three spheres for all eternity but the spheres are no longer capable of holding the ‘Seven’, and the warriors have returned to Earth. As the warriors search for the ‘Keys’ to perform the ritual, the ‘Lock’ must be protected in order to take down the evil that is hoping to take over the world.

Told from a number of third person perspectives following several intersecting paths using present day, memories and dream sequences GARRETT’S DESTINY follows the building relationship between Vampire/Demon member of the circle of Seven Garrett Kayrs, and Destiny Applegate. A chance meeting, a possible meeting of fate, found Destiny Applegate at the mercy of Garrett Kayrs. Garrett believe he has found his mate but all clues and scenarios pointed to something else. Destiny had once dreamed about our story line hero, and Garrett expected a different female to claim as his mate. An Immortal male could only mate with an enhanced human female but for all intents and purposes Destiny was merely human whose life expectancy was about to be measured in weeks, not in years. Destiny is something else: not quite immortal yet not quite human, and in this, the secrets lay buried deep within our story line heroine, within the symbols that have marked her as other, as possibly belonging to someone else. As the Seven, the Demons, the shifters and the vampires unite in an effort to take down a male they once considered a friend, Destiny is pulled into the dreamscape where Ulric is about to claim Destiny as the ultimate prize. While Garrett struggles to prove to Destiny she is his mate, Destiny is convinced her future survival, and that of the man with whom she has fallen in love, lies not in the real world but in the world where Ulric currently resides. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Garrett and Destiny, and the potential fall-out as Destiny’s future has been mapped out since before her birth.

Once again, eighteen year old Hope Kayrs-Kyllwood is torn between friendship and love, duty and family as it pertains to her relationship with Paxton Phoenix, and young Kurjan warrior Drake. Drake, Paxton and Hope have been dream-walking together for years but betrayal may come at the cost of their friendships, a friendship predicated upon secrets and lies. Drake’s connection to the Kurjan and Cysts may be what takes down the Seven, a connection tightly woven with a young female who is purported to be the ‘hope’ of the immortal world.

The relationship between Destiny and Garrett begins acrimoniously as Garrett believes Destiny has arrived with evil purpose but as far as Destiny is concerned, what little time left she wants to spend living a life . Destiny is more or less a prisoner of the Demon nation, and as such she is at the mercy of their warriors, doctors, and researchers, as everyone battle time in an effort to save our story line heroine but a secret buried deep is about to surface, and with it, Destiny becomes a threat to Garrett and the group known as the Seven. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters as everyone gathers in an effort to take down and stop a man they once called a friend. Destiny may be the ‘key’ to stopping Ulric but blood is the ultimate key to opening the lock.

GARRETT’S DESTINY is a complex and detailed story that reveals and merges several plot elements as Seven come closer to taking down their current foe. The premise is intriguing, entertaining and exciting; the romance is seductive and passionate; the characters are powerful, charismatic and strong.

Three and a half stars.

This tells the story of Garrett Kayrs, nephew of the King of the Realm, vampire-demon hybrid, and member of the Seven. If none of that makes any sense to you then I suggest you start reading one of the earlier books because for me the romance is very much inferior to the overarching storyline about the ongoing war between the Kurjans and the Realm over the fate of Enhanced human females. The Kurjan leader, Ulric, who sacrificed one hundred enhanced females to make himself invincible, was trapped by the Seven in a demon realm but the barriers are weakening and it is only a matter of time before he breaks free.

Destiny Applegate has just left her sheltered life at an exclusive boarding school on a remote island, she runs into Garrett when the man she is with tries pushing her around in a diner, which just happens to be full of Garrett's motorcycle club, the Grizzlies (which is 90% actual Bear shifters). Destiny immediately recognises Garrett as the man of her dreams, a man she has been in love with most of her life, but Garrett suspects that she is a trap set by the Kurjans.

The series arc is driving ever closer to the big showdown and there are a lot of really good reveals in this story. Unfortunately, for me, the rinse-and-repeat nature of the romance is becoming a bit tedious. Every single member of the Seven has to be bossy and force their mate to their will, they always have to be dominant, they always have to display their dominance through spanking (which to me has an icky parental punishment vibe - using your greater strength to punish someone smaller and weaker), there is alway hair-pulling and growling and metaphorical peeing on the woman to show ownership. Honestly I just skim through all the sex scenes as quickly as possible because they are all the same from book to book - I could not tell you in fifteen books if a single male made love in a different way (loads of people are about to prove me wrong). Couldn't just one of them be gentle and respectful, maybe even not sure she could like him? It's all a bit one-dimensional.

Every time I start one of these books my eyes roll at the repetitiveness of the sex and I think, 'this is the one I can't finish, this is where it ends' and then I get sucked into the story arc and carried along until I rock up at the end of the book shouting 'what a ride!'

So, in summary, series arc gets four, maybe four and a half stars, romance gets three, maybe even two and a half stars. Averages out to three and a half stars.

I received an ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.

Well HOT DAMN this was freakin exciting to read, and sexy. This is so much better then anticipated, now I didn’t think it was going to suck but after being an avid reader of the series from the beginning I just wasn’t sure that it could continue being awesome. I will never doubt this amazing author again, because wow did this book deliver so much. Is it a cliffhanger…. possibly in a small way but you could always say every book lead into the next in a small way. Could you read this as a stand-alone, possibly but why would you. Again amazing character development the storyline flowed perfectly and I’m on pins and needles waiting to read what comes next.

Such a great read, Garrett’s Destiny is book 15 in the Dark Protectors. A powerful engaging story that has several different stories coming together. I enjoyed the characters and the large ensemble cast and highly recommend you read this series in order you won’t be disappointed

Things are heating up in this second arc of the Dark Protectors series! It’s Garrett’s book! He’s the son of Talen and is absolutely a chip off the old Kayrs block! All the way down to the possessive and overbearing way he is around his mate!

Lots of stuff happens in this book, it’s so exciting! All hell is literally breaking loose! Gird your loins people this is not a drill! I can’t really say much without spoiling it! So much happens, soooo many secrets and surprises! All I really can say is it’s DEFINITELY worth a read!

Fantastic

Garrett’s Destiny is one of those books that is extremely hard for me to be able to give any kind of justice with a review. I feel like this is a very big moment within the series and going into too many details even slightly would give away something that I was very excited to read. With that being said, I absolutely loved this book.

Garrett is a character we have seen grow up throughout the series. His devotion and loyalty are some of the things that we absolutely love about him. Not to mention he is all alpha, he’s sexy as hell and what can I say? I wouldn’t mind riding on the back of his bike. He’s fierce, all alpha, but yet gentle, compassionate and cares so deeply.

Destiny was a mystery from the get-go. I found her extremely intriguing. Everything about her was mysterious, but yet the shining light came from within her and proved that something good lies within.

From the moment that Garrett and Destiny met it was intense. From needing to save her to wondering if she was out to get him. It’s an interesting roller coaster ride that all I’m gonna say is I enjoyed reading as they were experiencing it. Destiny and Garrett are well matched for each other. Their story has many ups and downs, but in the end they have each other.

As for the overall story arc of our beloved, Dark Proctors hang onto your hat readers, this is a big one. And with that I highly recommend if you like this series at all, you should definitely dive in quickly and hang on for the ride.

This book combines love and fate with responsibility and passion to create a combustible pair: Garrett Kayrs and Destiny Applegate.

Destiny or Dessie has a short life to live as she suffers from a problematic brain tumor. Before meeting Garrett, she dreams about him and is attracted to him at first sight. Garrett is a hybrid creature, a demon-vampire, who finds Dessie intriguing. However, all signs point towards her being an average human, not an enhanced one i. e. unsuitable to be his mate. Of course, there's more to Dessie's story. After all, Garrett is stubborn enough to will away Dessie's tumor so that they can have centuries together.

This is an amazing series that only keeps getting better and better. I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

Disclosure: I was given an ARC copy of this book via NetGalley but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

I absolutely love this series. It has everything you need, alpha males, exceptional mates, intrigue, steam, great villains', and tons of secrets to be revealed at the right moment. Dessie is quite the woman, she will stand up to anyone, even the king! Garrett is the perfect alpha, he's got a lot of hats to wear and a lot of responsibility. Love this family and this kingdom. Totally and completely recommend.

Wow this series is heating up. I am forever amazed at the creativity of author Rebecca Zanetti's imagination! This story was intricate and full of action. Destiny is complex and not what you think she is. Garrett is the guardian protector you've come to know. Their chemistry is intense. I couldn't read the pages fast enough! The Realm is on the verge of war with the Kurjan's and all the warriors are being prepared. The stage is being set. Hope's book is going to be explosive!

Garrett has been dreaming of his mate for a long time and he finally meets his Destiny, Destiny Applegate a full human?! He doesn't recognize her as his mate at first given she's not strong and fully human. It takes an enhanced female, one with paranormal powers of some sort, to be able to mate with them. He rescues this dainty creature from a douchebag who won't take no for an answer because that's the man he is. He doesn't understand why he's so drawn to her. She tells him she's got 4 weeks before the tumor in her brain kills her and she wants to experience as much of life as she can. He's determined to take her back to the Realm doctors to save her life. Along the way the chemistry between them becomes off the charts. They discover she's a puzzle box of contradictions as they try to determine how to heal her. The Kurjan's did a real number on her. I devoured the story and can't wait for Hope's book coming next October!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

GARRETT'S DESTINY will have your pulse pounding in anticipation and enjoyment. Author Rebecca Zanetti has certainly given her fans an amazing, action-packed read and though it is number 15 of her Dark Protectors series - it is just as passion-filled, and action-packed as the very first.

What a long strange ride it has been to finally get Garrett’s book. He’s been a character that has either been on the fringe of or the star of books in the past. Now that he’s grown up and plays a more adult role (as basically a womanizer), I’ve been waiting for him to meet his match. This book did not disappoint.

I admit - I was a little worried that I wouldn’t like grown up Garrett. He’s been with the motorcycle club and the shifters for so long, trying to find a mate that is destined to try to kill him, but still ride on the back of his motorcycle. Coming from a family of other powers, I’m sure he’s struggled to find his place in their world. Being on his own (yet somehow with a pack) makes him into the man he is today, and when confronted with insurmountable odds, he just leans in.

So - who does he get matched with? Don’t worry, it’s not a regular in the series, or anything that you’d expect. Her name might be Destiny, but that’s where the standard storyline ends. She’s for all appearances 100% human and also inexperienced in all ways. After running into his gang seemingly by random, Garrett and her begin their mating dance with the usual suspicion, secrets, and reveals playing out. Destiny has some whoppers when they come out and it made me worry for Garrett’s ability to have a HEA. Just when I thought we got over one hurtle, another popped up in surprising ways. For a series so many books deep, you’d think you would stop being surprised but I couldn’t have predicted this story at all! I was completely satisfying by the ending, though we are left with lots of larger plot lines that really need wrapping up. Here’s hoping for some really big battles in our future!

Destiny comes for every man
Is it bad that I already want to read this book again? I love how this bad boy fell and fell hard for this quirky, sassy lady. Destiny’s personality shines through no matter what comes her way, and I absolutely love the unique way she looks at the world. Garrett is every bit the bad boy alpha male, and I love how gentle he is with the women in his life, even when they are being sassy. And the continuing saga of the destroyer’s return builds into a crescendo by the end of the book. I feel like I say this with every book in the series, but this one might just be my favorite. I will have to read it again and let you know.

Garrett's Destiny was actually a really fun read for me. I found myself smiling and laughing a lot during the first several chapters. I'm fairly new to the Dark Protectors series, as I've only read three other books in the series. This author is so good though at drawing you in and giving you the information you need to follow along, even though it's a complicated world with a lot of characters and backstory. I never felt lost or confused. Garrett is all alpha and dominant and was a great contrast to Dessie, who is lighthearted and innocent. Dessie almost reminded me of heroines from Julie Garwood's earlier books. There is a reason for her innocence which comes out as you move through the story, which really added to my enjoyment of Garrett's Destiny. Garrett and Destiny do not have an easy path and there is a lot of torment and angst throughout. We also meet a number of characters that I'm now desperate to read about in their books!

Garrett’s Destiny by Rebecca Zanetti
Dark Protectors #15

Deep into an ongoing saga that pits paranormals against one another in a fight of good against evil – this book sees Garrett find his fated mate.

What I liked:
* Destiny “Dessie’ Applegate: multi-lingual, raised closed community, intelligent, curious, wants to experience all she can before it is too late, drawn to Garett
* Garrett: paranormal, royalty of sorts, seeking his mate, drawn to Destiny though she can’t be his mate as she is a mere mortal and not ‘enhanced’, willing to protect what is his
* The many characters from past books that were seen again so I could catch up with them
* The continuation of the ongoing thread of what is happening to eventually take out Ulrich, the Cysts and the Kurjans
* The hint at Hope’s future and how it might play out (Hope is a key player in this ongoing saga)
* The sweet strength of Destiny
* The way Garrett rallies the troops to make sure his fated mate will survive instead of expire
* The motorcycle element
* That more bad guys are taken down

What I didn’t like:
* Who and what I was meant not to like
* The feeling that it could take twenty more books before this saga ends…did find myself skimming to see if I could get hints of how many more books there might be.

Did I like this book? Yes
Would I read more in this series? Yes

Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington-Lyrical for the ARC – This is my honest review.

4-5 Stars

This is one of the best books in the series once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down. It had so many twists and turns. Garrett is a totally hot mchottie badass. The book never had a dull moment and it was not your same old love story. Lots of action in and out of the sheets. Totally can’t wait for Rebecca to follow up to this book.

This was an entertaining, well-written book. It was fast-paced, fun, steamy and held my interest. I wanted to keep reading to find out what would happen. This book can be read as a standalone story, though it is book 15 in the Dark Protectors series. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it to others.

This has been the one I have been waiting forever since the first book and meeting Garrett and following him through it all has finally came! We meet Destiny , who thinks she is not going to make it and feels like she knows Garrett when they meet, You gone a a ride of good and bad along the way. The continues on from the first book to Garretts and more in the future. During Garrett story we see the Realm comes to terms on what the Seven are doing and what they are trying to achieve for the families. You get your always present humor and male protectiveness . Garrett and Destiny are a perfect match. The store may come to and end for the seven but the story continues for the next generation, and I can not wait. I feel Garrett book felt a little rushed for Destiny and him but over all a great read. As always I support our authors and one click buy as well. Rebecca is one of my top authors and can't wait to see what she does next!

I jumped into this series just two books ago. I didn't struggle with not having read the previous books though there's obviously a lot of backstory I'd love to know . Someday, I'll go back and read the whole series.. I was anxiously awaiting Garett's Destiny. I was not disappointed! The book had all the exciting action and hot attraction I was looking for. We already knew Garrett and his strong, capable personality. Destiny'is just as interesting. These two together? Well destined, fated, meant to be.

I won't summarize the plot but suffice it to say, I loved this book. I loved Garrett and Destiny. I had a great time with all the other characters most, if not all, of whom we met throughout the previous books. Everything led up to this story and it was intense.

I can highly recommend this book to Zanetti lovers, paranormal enthusiast and anyone looking for a lot of action with some great love.

Thanks to the author and NetGalley for the ARC.
