This is the best book to show children all about the Bible. The main stories are throughout the book, with lovely illustrations.
I know you shouldn't judge a book by its cover but the cover and the title screams out that this book would be for a toddler, it however is far from it! This book is huge and what I was sent was actually The Lion First Bible so follows the old and the new testament. It has so many words on the page and I found the illustrations a tad scary if I'm being honest, I think more aimed at older children. Thank you for letting me read and review this book.
(I was sent a copy of a children's bible, instead of Tiny Tots Christmas, so I will review the children's bible below):
I really enjoyed reading this selection of bible stories with my daughter. The stories are easy to read, with beautiful, colourful illustrations, and the stories are broken down into simple writing that children can understand. We learn about Adam and Eve, Noah's Ark, Abraham, Jacob, Joseph, baby Moses and more. This would make a lovely gift for any child who is interested in learning more about the bible. Highly recommended!
Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this book.
This is a selection of Bible stories for very young children. It features among others, the tales of Adam and Eve, Noah's ark and the survival of baby Moses.
The illustrations are good, and the book is colourful. I like the way the story of Adam and Eve was told, but with some of the others there were elements left unexplained, or perhaps things slightly inappropriate for young children like the Pharaoh's injunction to kill all the baby boys.
Overall, it's a good introduction to Bible stories for very small kids with really nice illustrations.
Such a beautiful book. I can't wait to show this to my class at Christmas time. Loved the illustrations!
I was looking forward to reading and reviewing a book about Christmas through the eyes of a pre-school child. But when I downloaded it, what I got was a small collection of run of the mill exerts from the Old Testament. While I do not want to condemn the bible stories received there are versions already published which are better illustrated.
If the tiny tots Christmas materialises I’d certainly be interested in reading it. But this is not it.
A delightful collection of Bible stories for children, told very simply and with beautiful illustrations. This collection will help little ones learn the story's of the Bible and the illustrations will keep children happily engaged. These short stories are perfect for bedtime reading. Thank you NetGalley.
This Should be a Christmas story, however the document attached is the full First toddler bible, which on its own is a very nice edition, however not the same as what this is saying: Tiny Tots Christmas. I've contacted NetGalley, who said they will contact the publishers, a while back. however I've not heard anything yet, therefore I'm now leaving this review. my apologies.
I just loved this book, I read it with my children and the pictures are just right as is the tone, the bible is told in a very friendly, almost chatty way, a way that was engaging and fun. I really recommend this book as it comes in bite size chunks for bedtime reading too.
