I finally decided to stop reading at 60%. I really should’ve stopped at like 15 or 20%. I wasn’t taking in anything and when I stopped reading I basically forgot about everything that was in the book – names, whatever the plot was. What I do remember is a very, very confusing plot – that even after looking at spoilery reviews – I don’t understand.
The cover and the synopsis made me see it as a simple YA mystery/thriller book. I got something very more confusing and because I wasn’t interested in any of it I didn’t want to take the time to properly try to understand the book. I don’t remember any of the characters? None were memorable at all – I only remember some names because I looked at the synopsis when I started this review.
Further on than not just remembering anything, I didn’t want to know more about them or read their dialogue with each other. That also made me decide to stop reading it because you shouldn’t really try to force yourself to care about characters, you know?

This is a solid psychological thriller with engaging characters. I always favor books where the characters survive perilous situations or adversity because they have a close-knit friendships. This is one of those books. Blythe is so disciplined that even camp counselors find her boring. Her best friend Tucker is her opposite—people are both drawn to him and a apprehensive of his volatility. Their relationship is much more complicated than anyone knows. So are their family lives, not to mention the creepy lab their parents work for and gated community where they live. They make discoveries about themselves and their community from which they can never go back.

This was a fun read, despite being predictable at times. I was interested in seeing how things progressed but wish there had been more development on characters so I could feel attached!

Thank you Tundra Books, NetGalley, and Libro FM for the ARC and ALC of Someone is Always Watching! All opinions in this review are my own.
I found this to be a mix between Don't Worry Darling and Divergent. While the concept is what drew me to the book, there are times when it fell flat. I was expecting a fast-paced book with a lot of twists. There are some but this wasn't as consuming as I thought it would be and I struggled to get through the audiobook.

I thought this was really predictable in a lot of places. However, it was a pretty compelling read and I think teens will really enjoy it.

This is a young adult novel of kids whose memories of bad things are being erased and they’re trying to figure out why. I didn’t really like it, too much round about way of getting to the gist of it, and the idea of one of them being undercover was very far fetched. Not enjoyed at all.

Whether it’s young adult or adult, mystery or paranormal, Kelley Armstrong can do no wrong. I was immediately sucked into Someone is Always Watching. I genuinely had the creeps, several times. Armstrong’s strongest asset is her characterization and how her characters always feel so real.

Creepy and full of mystery; another great novel from Kelley Armstrong. Blythe and her friends are a group of typical teens, dealing with relationship drama and high school stress... Until the day when one member of the group, Gabrielle, experiences a breakdown in class and begins ranting about the security cameras and how "they are always watching". Cue suspenseful music. This kicks off a series of mysterious events centered around memory loss and unexplained flashbacks. This school is full of secrets, and it seems that their parents are involved. Hopefully Blythe and the others can find the truth before it's too late.
I've loved every book I've read from Kelley Armstrong, and this was no exception. The friends and their relationships were compelling. The mystery was highly engaging. I'm a sucker for novels with psychological elements, and this one easily kept my interest. In some ways, the plot is over the top, but I could see some elements of this happening in the real world. Scary to think about. Would recommend to fans of YA mysteries.

Thank you Kelley Armstrong, Penguin Random House and NetGalley for my gifted copy.
Fast paced, immersive and provides the ultimate thrill. Though some plot points were a tad predictable!
Can’t decide between 3.5 or 4/5… leaning more towards 4/5 though!

Wow, those are some messed up kids and parents! There were many red herrings in this book, each time I thought I had it all figured out Kelley would throw another wrench into the works. I love Tanya, she embraces her dark side by the end of this book and doesn't take crap from anyone. Another great read from Kelley Armstrong, highly recommend!

4.5/5 Stars
Blythe, Gabrielle, Tucker, and Tanya have been friends attending the same high school. A recent violent event creates tension between Tucker and Blythe, causing them to be forced apart by their parents. Then Gabrielle has a mental breakdown and is sent to the office, where Blythe finds her covered in blood with the Vice Principal at her feet. The next day, Blythe wakes up with memory loss but knows something isn't right. The three remaining friends decide to investigate.
This was such a fun read with an addictive writing style, that had me hooked right from the beginning. I was so caught up in the mystery behind what was happening to the teens, that I didn't care that it was so unbelievable. I'm a sucker for an unreliable narrator so I loved how no one could be trusted, and everyone was being gaslighted at some point. It made it so interesting to try and figure out who was actually telling the truth. I found the characters to be very intriguing, and I liked learning more about their backstories. I really liked Tucker and Blythe's complicated relationship. I thought it was interesting how they fed off one another, whether it be for better or for worse. I would love to read more stories about these characters and where they go from here.

4.5 stars
This book was so good!! I absolutely adored this YA mystery. IT was fast paced, with well developed characters, and interesting plot, and so many twists! Kelley Armstrong has shown once again what a fantastic writer she is and that she can truly write in in genre.
I really hope we will see more of these characters after eve thing we learned in this book!
Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Random House Canada for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Any day in America the new shows someone from being tracked by watching cameras. Often we feel like we have no privacy. This author took that tracking to another level. Now only do they track the kids but they play with their memory of events. Amazing story that can give you chills, have you second guessing but will you guess correctly? I bet the end will surprise you. A good book for sure!

I received this e-book through Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to Netgalley and the author/publisher for the copy!
This was my first Kelley Armstrong book, so I wasn't sure what to expect. After reading the synopsis, I was excited to read it! But as I read through it, I wasn't sure that I was going to be able to finish. The conversation between the teens and even their parents made it seem far fetched from reality. I know some good kids, but they do not talk like these teens in the book and I was just bored with the character development. I think the concept is great, but it could've been executed differently.
Throughout the story, we are taken through the minds of Blythe and her friends in their town that is mostly made up of CMT employees and their families. Blythe and her friends start noticing strange things happening; Gabrielle is acting different and even Devon comes back a different kid than they knew before. All the friends claim to have strange dreams of a life they don't know. Can this group of friends uncover what is happening and make the connections needed to uncover the truth?

This book goes from 0 to 100 within the first few chapters and never gets boring. I would HIGHLY suggest going in blind because it goes in some interesting directions that are more impactful if you read the book knowing nothing.
This is a YA thriller but it definitely has some heavy topics. I was able to guess the twists before they happened, but it didn’t make the book any less enjoyable.
It was a little ridiculous at times but definitely a quick fun read. Make sure to suspend your disbelief for a bit and just go along for the ride!

As usual, Kelley Armstrong knocks it out of the park! I love how she creates characters and a world that just draws you in and makes you want to stay. Tuck is definitely my favorite character in this book. I love how he’s both protective and supportive to those he cares about.
While I had kind of guessed what was going on with the kids at the school, it didn’t detract from the story at all. I found it to be perfectly paced, well written and engaging. I would love to see what else might happen with these characters, especially now that they know more about who they are and why they are in the school they are in.

This book gave you little pieces of information at a time to help delve into the mystery aspect even more. You never knew what character was reliable or you could trust. I think this is a great edition to the YA genre.

It was giving Truman show vibes. I loved that this was fast paced and had short chapters. It was a mature YA writing style, it didn’t feel too young for me.
I didn’t guess whoddunit, which is always a nice surprise when I’m wrong. I hate when plots are super predictable. This had so much potential to be a 5 star read, I loved the premise, however the execution fell flat.
Unfortunately I didn’t like most characters, with the exception of Tucker (sometimes), but I still felt sad for them all in the end.

Unfortunately, this was a garbled, hot mess. The writing was all over the place, never focused on any one thing long enough to understand what was going on. Maybe it just wasn't for me. I don't think I would recommend this, which is sad, because I normally love her books.

Haunting.
I have been a fan of Kelley Armstrong since I read her Darkest Powers series years ago, which I have re-read multiple times. It has been a few years since I read her books, so when I came across Someone Is Always Watching on Netgalley, I immediately requested it. I was excited when I was approved to read the copy. Once I started to read, it reminded me why I love this author. I love mysteries, and I have read many through the years, Someone Is Always Watching is a mystery that has you guessing who’s the killed until almost the end of the book. When I thought I figured out what was happening, another twist had you confused all over again. The one question that kept running through my mind: “Who can you trust?”
When Gabrielle started to break down and then talked about cameras, I felt there was a reason behind it. When she had her first breakdown, I assumed that maybe she was having a mental breakdown until their principal ended up dead. How can you kill someone and then don’t remember doing it? I wonder if it is because she blocked that part of her memory. When Gabrielle had her second breakdown, a girl who had never gotten in trouble before, I knew something was going on. I kept on turning the pages, sometimes late into the night, wanting to find out what was happening with Gabrielle. There was something unnatural happening to all those kids and their memories.
I loved all of the main characters, and if If asked which is my favorite, I couldn’t pick just one. Each one of them had a story to tell. Every page in this book had you turning the pages and had you wondering what would come next. This was one of the best mysteries that I have read this year. After reading Someone Is Always Watching I wanted to re-read the books that I have read all those years ago. This will keep you on the edge of your seat, making you feel like you are there with everyone else.
