Honor 'N' Duty is Book 6 in the Federal K-9 Series, but it can be read as a standalone.
This book was so good. Such a fast paced read, that I could not put down.
Kade and Laia met in an elevator and both of them felt a connection right away. However, it turns out Laia is engaged to Kade's brother.
Kade keeps his distance from Laia, even after the death of his brother. Until she calls him for help.
The attraction between the two of them is still there, and it is smoking hot.
Laia and her daughter Rosa are in danger and Kade will do whatever he can to keep them safe.
I love Tee O'Fallon's books, and how she includes past characters.
This was an awesome book, that I could not put down!
I received an ARC copy from the Author for my honest review.

Honor 'N' Duty by Tee O'Fallon

This is book six in the authors Federal K-9 series and is Kade Sampson and his K-9 Smoke and Laia Velez story. I look forward to reading each new addition in the series and love them.

Two years have passed since Kade's brother was sent to prison and dies but the guilt he carries for helping put him there has haunted him. But when Laia Velez calls him for help when her house is broken into he'll drop everything to help his little niece Rosa. He hopes that she will never know what part he had in putting him there. But the Colon Cartel wants what was taken back now and they will do anything to get it. Even kidnap if necessary but Kade and his friends and the K-9 will protect them with everything they have. Can Kade and Laia who finally have a chance at love finally if they can stay ahead of the cartel?

I voluntarily read a copy of this book in exchange for a review from Entangled Publishing and Net Galley.

Kade and Laia's story is emotional full of heartbreak, and has a happily ever after. Laia was married to Kade's brother. Laia and Kade were unhappy and heartbroken. When he dies and leaves a mess behind Laia is left picking up the pieces and Kade is carrying guilt. When the past comes back to haunt them, Laia immediately calls Kade for help who runs to do what he can to help. Kade and Smoke is a fantastic partnership, they rely on each other and have a relationship that is like no other between a human and his partner.

I really enjoyed this book, I could not put it down. It was fun seeing the guys from previous books and I was glad we got to see the ever absent Jamie. Every one is worried about him, I hope we get to find out what is going on with him soon. A great addition to the Federal K9 Series and I cannot wait to see the characters in this series again. Here is to hoping that Jamie is next.

I am hooked! Tee O’Fallon creates genuine characters and then weaves in a story that has intrigue, action, and a well-developed gripping plot and OH. MY. GOD. working dogs!!!!! I like the diversity she presents and I just couldn’t quit turning the pages. Did I mention the dogs? I have relatives associated with some of the careers mentioned in Honor ‘N’ Duty and many of the details are authentic. I am a new reader to Ms. O’Fallon but I can’t wait to read her other stories. I think I would buy them just to “meet” the dogs (but the heroes and heroines are pretty cool too)!

Kade Sampson fell in love with Laia Velez six years ago, exactly one year before his brother Josh married her. He’s avoided them both and his guilt until she calls frantically one night. Kade rushes to her rescue realizing this situation may be related to his brother’s death two years prior. Since Kade is responsible for Josh’s death, he just needs to keep Laia and his five year old niece safe, not expose his true feelings, but things don’t work out as he planned.

Engaging, thrilling and action packed, Honor N Duty is a perfect romantic suspense novel. Kade and Laia have amazing chemistry, and since he already has a sweet relationship with his niece, Rosa, they make an adorably natural fit as a family. The romance is almost overshadowed by the pulse pounding action that kept me reading until late into the night. This is the sixth installment of the Federal K-9 series, but I hadn’t read any of the previous and didn’t feel that I missed anything. The backstory I needed was weaved in beautifully. I’d previously read another book a spin off series and was delighted to see a few favorite characters return from that book.

When Department of Homeland Security K-9 Officer Kade Sampson believes he has met the “one” it is only to find out that she is engaged to his brother, Josh. He keeps his distance throughout the next six years during Laia’s marriage to his brother and the birth of their little girl, Rosa. When his brother’s past explodes, it drags Laia and Rosa down with him. Kade returns when Laia tells him that her house was trashed. A ledger, the mob is looking for a ledger that Laia knows nothing about, but they won’t let up unless Kade can stop them. Kade’s K9 Smoke and Rosa add so much charm to this story while her Uncle Kade and her mom work to end the threats. There is still a strong attraction between them, but are the events of the past too much to overcome? Strong and well-developed characters with a story line that will keep you reading to find out what happens next. The addition of visits from past characters makes this a true winner! I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)

Honor 'N' Duty, book six of Federal K-9 by Tee O'Fallon may be my favorite of the series. This is saying something since I loved the first five books too. Kade Sampson is a perfect man of few words but one of integrity too. Laia Velez is also a perfect heroine who had to learn to stand on her own after her husband’s death. Kade and Laia have a history since her late husband’s was Kade’s brother. There is much more to their past that affect the story that make reading it such an intriguing read. Then there is Laia’s young daughter, Rosa and K-9 Smoke. Every scene they are in they steal. Yes every scene just loved them.

The suspense continues to build from the first when Kade rushes to Laia’s house after a burglary happened there. The romantic tension also continues to build between Kade and Laia as the suspense mounts. It is wonderfully written with issues becoming resolved instead of instant love or acting on the attraction.

The entire series is amazing but Rose and Smoke make Honor 'N' Duty one incredible read. If you enjoy reading romantic suspense with K-9s I highly recommend Honor 'N' Duty along with the entire series.

An ARC of the book was provided by the publisher through NetGalley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I’m a huge romantic suspense junkie (Thank you, Nora Roberts, for spawning my addiction!). I’ve read all of Tee O’Fallon’s Federal K-9 books and have absolutely enjoyed every bit of the time I’ve spent in this world she has dreamt up for us. So, of course, I was going to read the next one. All the books are standalone titles, but besides being a romantic suspense junkie, I’m also a series junkie, so my default is always to recommend reading all of a series in order. Even with standalone titles, I still feel like you get a better reading experience this way. That said, you can jump in with this book and not feel lost.

There is plenty of action, suspense, intrigue, and steam within the pages of this book. But I usually have a hard time with the whole I want my brother’s girl trope, so I was a bit hesitant as I began reading. However, when it was all said and done, the way the author unfolded the story had me wholeheartedly rooting for these two to find their HEA. And there was this adorable little girl who stole my heart along with these K-9s who stole it from the very first book in the series. The fast pace kept me engaged, and I honestly had a hard time putting it down when life intruded upon my reading time. Once the required adulting was finished for the day, it was a rush to return to the story.

This is only the second book I've read by this author and I see a lot more reading of K-9 books in my future. I was hooked on Laia and Kade from the start and was curious to see how their relationship would develop. There was plenty of suspense and some twists toward the end. And hot, hot, hot chemistry between Laia and Kade. I loved the relationship between Kade, Rosa and Smoke - which came as a surprise to Laia. As the story progressed, Laia and Kade both found there were many things they didn't know about the other.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.

Wow, this was a hard one to review as there is so much going on in Kade and Laia's background and their story is so hard to read as they really had no chance from the start and now their second chance is on shaky ground.

Kade could not be around Laia and his brother after their wedding and so he pretty much ghosted them and would only visit his parent's house when he knew his niece, Rosa, was there without her parents. What was really sad was that after his brother was murdered, Kade still stayed away from Laia and she really could have used the support during that time. It hurt reading her story and how she suffered for the choice that she made.

Kade is living with his own guilty over a decision that he made and probably would not have seen Laia again until she called him for help. From that call, there is action and drama as they try to stay ahead of members of a drug cartel that wants something from Laia that was left by her dead husband.

It is going to take a lot of understanding for both of them to bridge the misunderstandings, secrets, and pain from their past, and you have to wonder if they will ever get their HEA.

Kade is an awesome hero. I loved everything about him, especially his relationship with his niece. The relationship between Kade and Laia is full of challenges. Their connection was so strong from the first time they met. There is a lot of action mixed in with the romance. I loved this and look forward to more stories in this series. I received an advance copy from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review.

All the action, all the feels!

Laia's life was destroyed when her husband, Josh, was arrested and then murdered for his involvement with a drug cartel. But when it appears that the cartel is after her again, two years later, she calls his brother, Kade, to help keep her and her young daughter safe. Despite all the water under the bridge between her and Kade.

This is a fast-paced action-packed story that beautifully balances the ever-present threat and the even more undeniable passion between Laia and Kade, all while gradually teasing out the secrets they've been keeping from each other since before she married his brother.

A lot of times with action/crime drama romances the romance gets a bit short-changed in the story. Not so here. There's a lot of depth to their history and the reasons why they weren't in each other's lives for so long. Even so, I loved the way Kade's relationship with Rosa, his niece, was a continuous thread that showed so much about what kind of man he is.

This was a book I couldn't put down until I finally got to their triumphant HEA. I loved every bit, especially Rosa's relationship with Kade's K-9, Smoke. If you like reading about heroic K-9 officers and their sexy handlers, this is your new favorite author. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

Kade and Laia have a tumultuous past but are forever linked through Kade’s brother. When danger comes a little too close to home for Laia and her young daughter, Kade and his K9 partner partner Smoke wade in to help. This book has it all. There is a lot of action, lots of romance, with a slow burn plenty of hot tension, some heartbreak, and lots of humor, especially with young Rosa who is too cute for words. This is part of a series of fellow K9 handlers in different government agencies, and you definitely see some familiar faces, both human and canine, but you do not need to have read the other books in the series to enjoy this one ( although I highly recommend them). I only wish there was a bit more of Smoke and Kade’s interaction with him in this book compared to others in the series, however it is a highly enjoyable and suspenseful romance that has you craving more K9 stories. 4.5 stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed an arc copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own

When Kade and Laia met six ago in an elevator little did they know their lives will change forever. She married his brother, had a daughter and became a widow with no money after her husband was murdered in prison. Laia and her daughter Rosa are in danger and the only person she trust to help is the man she hadn’t seen in more than two years. Is Kade ready to save Laia and Rosa’s lives without risking his heart?

Having read this author before, I am a fan. This book has suspense, mystery and lust. It is a very fast paced enjoyable read. The plot keeps moving which kept my attention. Some parts were a little predictable but none the less a great read.

This is book 6 in the ‘Federal K-9’ series. This is a stand alone novel, so you don’t have to read the previous books in the series. But it does help having read them to grasp the friendships between all the K-9 agents.
In ‘Honor ‘N Duty’ Department of Homeland Security K-9 agent Kade Sampson is struggling with his part in helping with the arrest of his brother for money laundering. Knowing his brother was killed while in prison doesn’t help matters. After little contact since his brothers death, his wife Laia Velez, suddenly contacts him seeking his help.
Laia is scared, especially for her daughter, when she comes home to find it completely trashed. Knowing the best person to help her is Kade, she reluctantly calls him for help.
Together, Kade and Laia need to find a mystery ledger in order to start one step ahead of the cartel looking for them.
In a race to find a mystery ledger before the cartel does, Kade and Laia need to try and put their past behind them as well as fight their growing attraction to each other in order to stay one step ahead of the danger coming straight for them.
This was a great, fast paced romantic suspense, filled with funny characters, steamy scenes and best of all dogs! I really enjoyed this book. I thought the characters were well developed, the writing was superb and the romance believable. A great 4 stars read.

This is a really great story. When Kade and Laia first meet they are instantly attracted to each other. He is a DHS canine handler who is duty bound to do the right thing. The story has wonderful characters who are critical to the plot. Years later when Laia is widowed and in danger she calls on Kade to protect her. Their feelings for each other have only lain dormant and now they are getting a second opportunity to explore what could have been.

All the suspense and thrills you’d expect from a Tee O’Fallon book. Plus, the awesome dogs and cute kid make it a well rounded book. Their meet cute was a bit unique and didn’t really have the ending they planned. Six years later they meet again when Kade is needed to help Laia and her daughter. Rosa’s a cute kid, a bit more advanced for her five years but adorable nonetheless. Laia rubbed me the wrong way, coming on a bit strong with her anger towards Kade. She eventually calms down and things work out. The series is full of strong guys and their K9 partners with each book telling the story of a different couple. The books are standalone and can be started anywhere, the only connection is the friendship of the guys. I’m leaving my honest review after reading an early copy.
