Another great book by Victoria Gilbert. Amy and Richard as extreamly busy as he gets ready for the first show of his new dance production. Richard has his hands full amid rehersals with the principles and children, and his ex Meredith Fox causing trouble. When Meredith is found murdered Amy must help to keep the wrong person out of prison. A must read for lovers of this series.
This 7th book in the Blue Ridge Library series is another solid installment.
Instead of the usual library focus, Amy's focus is on Richard and Karla's dance theater where many of the events in the book take place. It seemed a bit slower to me than usual but, in the end, just as enjoyable as ever.
I'd definitely recommend this one to cozy mystery fans.
This is another great addition to the Blue Ridge Library series. This has all the great things in a mystery. Amy finds her husbands ex dead and things spiral. I enjoyed the book and it kept me guessing until the end.

Death in the Margins is the latest installment in the Blue Ridge Library Mystery series. Ms. Gilbert is a talented cozy mystery writer and this latest does not disappoint. Ms. Gilbert does a good job of introducing who the characters are, so you don't feel lost if you jump in an any point.
Amy Muir's husband Richard, and his dance partner Karla, are choreographing a production of modern dance based on the folktales and music of the Blue Ridge mountains. They are utilizing students from Karla's dance studio as well as talented professionals. Meredith is one of those professionals. She's difficult, she is rude to her fellow performers as well as nasty to the students taking part in the production, but she's talented and the perfect dancer for the part so they work through it. She also happens to be the former fiancée of Richard.
Amy delivers dinner to the theater and sees Meredith in action as she berates an autistic child from Karla's class and Conner, a young man who she had ruined a scholarship for. She is nasty to Karla when she calls her out on it. Richard asks Amy to try to find a misplaced tablet in the rehearsal room. She didn't find it there so decided to check out the dressing rooms. What she found was Conner holding a bloody knife and standing over Meredith's body.
Conner is taken into custody although Amy and Richard believe he's innocent. The local sheriff asks Amy to help get info as the county sheriff's office who has jurisdiction didn't seem eager to look for alternate suspects.
Meredith was not a nice person so there are plenty of people who could have murdered her, from her ex-husband, to her fellow professional dancers to an unrequited lover.
This one had me guessing until the final climax.
I received an ARC from the publisher but the opinion expressed is my own.
Very suspenseful! Well written story plot. The book moves quickly and the characters are engaging. Lots of twists and turns. An enjoyable cozy! Thanks #netgalley and #Crookedlanebooks for the eARC in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are mine.

Good cozy mystery. Amy, the town librarian, is at the dance theater where her husband is directing a performance. Finding his ex-fiancé dead doesn’t make a smooth scene. The town’s cop asks her to help unofficially by asking questions. First I’ve read in the series, but overall still had no trouble following the story. Would recommend.
Yesteryear and intrigue…characters who are enjoyable…this mystery is a delightful read…this book was sent to me by Netgalley for review…the story moves quickly…this author is talented and gifted in weaving a story that is difficult to put down…enjoy…
Death in the Margins is the 7th book in this cozy mystery series. Library director Amy Webber drops in on her husband Richard Muir and his dance partner Karla's dance rehearsal. Richard hired his ex fiance, dancer Meredith Fox, for his production. She is a wonderful dancer but is a conceited, rude, disagreeable person and has several heated confrontations with the other dancers and even one of the dance moms. Amy finds Meredith dead in a dressing room. A teenage student is standing over her body in shock and holding a bloody knife. Amy believes the student is innocent and teams up with Chief Deputy Brad Tucker to discover the real killer. There are plenty of suspects, lots of red herrings, likeable characters. Thank you to netgalley and the book publisher for providing me with an advance copy. I enjoyed this book!
This ARC was provided to me via Kindle, Crooked Lane Books and by #NetGalley. Opinions expressed are completely my own.
The seventh installment of this cozy mystery series was as delightful as the previous six.
A Determined Killer..
The seventh in the Blue Ridge Library Mystery series and a betrayal at the theatre could well mean it’s curtains for someone found backstage. Amy Webber, Iibrary director, turns amateur sleuth to find a killer - but will they strike again before the play premiere has a chance to air? This one is determined. An enjoyable and entertaining entry to the series with a nicely crafted cast, a well drawn backdrop and a frothy plot.
I have read all of the books in this series and this one lives up the others before it. This is the 7th book in the Blue Ridge Library mystery series. This is a great book and an easy read.
This was a good cozy mystery, but there were two mysteries battling it out for center stage and I ended up forgetting about the original one completely, which was what the story was said to be about.
The characters are all well developed and the pace was great! I will definitely be checking out other novels in the series.
Richard is involved in a dance production and Amy as a good wife is there to support him. Of course, she discovers a dead body of a disagreeable person. There is a lot going on in this book with a lot of characters. It does at times make it hard to keep track of who is who and what happened. when. As a horse person, I was really bothered by the inaccuracies during the scenes at the barn and mentioning horses. The writing is experienced but the crafting of the the whodunnit was not up to this author's past books.
I thought this book is slow. I skimmed past most of the beginning. There are a lot of characters to remember. I enjoyed the later part of it. #DeathintheMargins #NetGalley
