3/5 stars. While I enjoyed this book, it was too long for me personally. I felt it could of been just as good with 100 less pages.
I heard so much buzz about this book before I read it that I was sure I would be disappointed, just because. But honestly - I had so much fun with this! I love a grumpy-sunshine and truly enjoyed going through it with these characters. four stars for the slow (sloooow) burn of which I am not the biggest fan, but otherwise - loved this book and would wholeheartedly recommend!
Thank you so much to Net Galley, the author, and publisher for providing this book for my honest review. I love this book so much. It’s a cute small town romance. Naomi comes to town to meet her twin sister and has had a rough few days. Her twin sister has apparently terrorized the entire town and Knox, the romantic interest, tries to run her out of town until he realizes she could use some help. Her evil twin sister has left her child in her sisters care with no money, no house, and no car. Knox starts off a bit grumpy but quickly begins to help Naomi and her niece. This is such a swoon worthy romance. It’s a bit on the long side for a romance, but I enjoyed every minute. I can’t wait to read the second in the series coming out in early 2023. Thank you again to Net Galley, the author, and publisher for providing this heartwarming book for my review.
Amazing story, I was thinking the book was going to be the same old song and dance of bad boy does not want a relationship and a ditzy girl does. So glad I was wrong!!! This story had be rooting for Knox and Naomi, and what a great ending it was. This is one of those books that seems like a great story that you want to keep reading you get very involved with all the characters in this story, even the side characters. Very emotional book, not just happy tears, but laughing out loud and sighing. I will be recommending this book to my book club, I can not wait for the next one to come out..
I’ve been seeing this title all over TikTok and was so excited to see “Things We Never Got Over” on NetGalley. This romance pulls on your heartstrings and feels so human - a must read!
Meandering, deeply misogynistic, and dripping in stereotypes. Mainly there was just no reason for this to keep going, yet on and on it went. It felt like an endurance race by the end, and I mean that in the worst possible way.
Small town enemies to lovers...the grump and the sunshine? Sign me up!!
First things first...this book is almost 600 pages long, so I was intimidated going in, but the blurb had me sold, and I dove right in. I absolutely love this cover and love how it ties in to the book!
Naomi is a runaway bride, having just arrived to Knockemout, hunting down her (evil) twin sister, Tina. Naomi discovers that Tina has skipped town and left behind her 12 year old daughter Waylay...who Naomi didn't know existed. Tina has run off with Naomi's car and money and left her stranded. In comes Knox, resident bad boy...and barber...and restauranteur...oh yeah, and convenient millionaire, to the rescue.
This book has so many elements that I tend to love, but there were so many parts that left me cringing and wanting to flip and skip, and I'm the type to read every single word of a book. The scene where all the female employees are at the bar on their periods. No men allowed. We are all eating brownies and holding our stomachs and achy lower backs and saying things like "I'm riding the cotton pony." Ick! It felt like a poor acting job in a porno written by a man as opposed to a romance novel by a female author.
The second half of the book was better than the first. Likable supporting characters and I liked the bit of back and forth between Naomi & Knox as they navigated their feelings. Knox had many endearing qualities, as did Naomi. Wish we'd have got to see more of that and less of the grump and damsel in distress act. Overall I'd have to give it 3.5 stars. I will definitely give this author another shot. Thank you to Sourcebooks Bloom Books and NetGalley for an ebook in exchange for my honest review.
My first Lucy Score book and will not be my last. I absolutely adored this book. The characters, the chemistry gave me all the feels. I will definitely be rereading this one in the future.
This copy was kindly provided to me by Netgalley and the publisher for review. All opinions are my own.
Let me start off by saying that I loved the beginning scenes of this book- the coffee shop, had me laughing. Overall I really did enjoy this book. I liked watching our main female protagonist deal not only with her own struggles to this little town but learning and taking over the care of her niece, finding her niche and a community that accepts her. It was a fun book, though a bit chunky. Normally I can give or take dual POV, it really depends on how it is written- this was one of those that if we didn't have the male love interests POV it would have just as good (but that really is a personal preference kinda thing)
I really want the librarian and her love interests book ASAP.

Thank you NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest review!
I have been hearing so much hype surrounding this book and it did not disappoint! I'm surprised by how quickly I was able to finish this read in one sitting. The plot was flushed out beautifully, enough so that I didn't want to put the book down! I also really enjoyed the grumpy-sunshine trope incorporated into this story and how much the characters had me swooning. If these sound like points that you look for in a romance read, then I recommend you pick up this book.
Knox Morgan is the ultimate book boyfriend. I loved everything about this book. I loved the characters, I loved the friendships, I love the relationship between the two characters, I loved the town and most of all I loved the found family within it. This book was long but it did not feel long because I flew through this and never wanted it to end. It was a page turner and the plot just kept thickening. I cannot wait until Nash's book and more time in the world of Knockemout!
Thank you #Netgalley for a copy of #ThingsWeNeverGotOver
Things We Never Got Over is the exact kind of romance book I've been loving lately. I loved Knox and Naomi as individual characters, and as a couple. I also loved all of the side characters, especially Naomi's parents. It was on its way to being a 5-star read for me, however, I didn't love how the third act breakup developed. I'll definitely be checking out the other books in the series though.
I caved to the Lucy Score hype, and it was so worth it! I absolutely loved Things We Never Got Over. Excellent storytelling and character banter. My emotions were all over the place! It was such a fun read. I can't wait for the sequel! Pick this one up today and get started. I know you will enjoy it!
I have always had Rock Bottom Girl has my top Lucy Score book, but this one I could not put down and it as moved to my number one spot. I mean I was 70% into the book and still was completely involved with the crazy fun cast of characters. There is just enough characters to really keep the story moving. Naomi and Knox where a kick and Way is such a strong kid. Nash, Stef, Liza, and everyone in this town make this a town I hope we get to visit again and again.
