My Review: Royally Indecent by Kelly Jamieson was a no go read for me. It was so much more than I expected (and not in a good way).

I actually started this book back in 2022, but it soon became a pick up, put down reading experience. I just couldn't get with the program. I seem to be the odd man out on this one, and I am very much okay with that.

My Final Say: Yea, no. This was a total 👎 for me. It's noted as an acquired taste read on the shelf.

Other: The featured throupling reminded me of the Michael, Maria, and Alex situation on the updated version of Roswell...minus the royalty slant.

Royally Indecent was a great read. Once you pick it uo you can't put it down. This was a great m/f/m book.

Chelsea is from a prominent family and being smothered by her father's need to protect her. Ford comes to her rescue during a bad date. The two end up being roommates with Chelsea ignoring her feelings for Ford, she thinks he just sees her as a friend. She meets Prince Griffin at an event and they have an attraction. Griffin is expected to have a life he wouldn't choose but he knows his duty. Ford and Griffin also have a past that makes things even more interesting for this story. A sexy, steamy mmf romance read.

Oh, my this was a sizzler! Chelsea, Ford and Griff are ready to steam up the pages as soon as they figure out how this is all going to work. It begins with Chelsea Ford and a friendship. Ford is in a relationship with another man when she walks into his life. Little did she know that he loves both men and women. It may not be the right time for them but their friendship blossoms. So, when Chelsea meets a handsome royal named Griff, we soon see that there is more than a history between her new man and her best friend. Get ready because both of these men not only want one another but they also want the lovely Chelsea! This was a sweet, steamy, emotional read with some twists and turns until this little love triangle finally realizes what they have right in front of them!

It is unusual to find a Royal in a poly-amorous relationship particularly a m/m/f one. I found this an okay read. There was nothing that made it stand out and I saw this more as a HFN than a HEA, I think this throuple would have too many issues to overcome to make it long term.

If you are looking for a m/m/f read that is a little different, then i think you will enjoy this.

If you live m/f/m books than this one is for you.... It grabs your attention a bit back and forth story telling but nothing too confusing....

Well HOT DAMN! That was so much more then I anticipated…. I mean really this was freakin awesome. There’s a lot o can say but right now I’m just so happy I was lucky enough to come across this book. This was just sexy, sweet, HOT, and did I mention sexy. I mean sure there was more to the book, I felt the characters were well developed and the story had a great flow and there was even a little tearful moment. Yup… if your thinking about just do it, I would have read this faster if I didn’t have to do normal life things, you won’t be disappointed.

Chelsea, Griffin and Ford forge an unbreakable bond. The problem is that one of them is a prince. This Kelly Jamieson story is full of angst and heartbreak. Boy loves girl, Boy loves boy. Girl loves boys. The three characters in this book must navigate the world of media attention, family displeasure and public opinion to find love.

Can the threesome overcome the obstacles and live a life of love? Read Royall Indecent to find out!

I have read most of this authors work but I don't think I have ever read a ménage from her. Great meet cutes. Great characters and lots of steamy moments. I loved the bravery of the characters in standing up for who they were. The ending was totally swoony!

To be perfectly honest, I have been a fan of this author for quite a number of years. I have never hesitated to read anything she has written and honestly have never been disappointed. Her books are filled with such great writing and never lack in the steam factor. She is definitely up there when it comes to ménage relationships. I look forward to what she is working on next.

Woah, woah woah. What just happened here? This one got off to a bit of a slow start for me - then I went back and read a few reviews and decided to keep going. And woah. Just woah.

All of Kelly Jamieson's books are an automatic read for me. I grabbed this one without reading the blurb and so I was very pleasantly surprised to find that this is a MMF/triad story! It's been a few years since I read and loved her Power of Three series. The story develops initially with Chelsea an Ford as friends dancing around an attraction towards one another, Chelsea being under the impression that Ford is gay. She begins dating Griffin, completely unaware that Ford and he know each other from the past, resulting in some conflict, angst and eventually steamy chemistry as they figure out where they each fit in the relationship.

Let me start by saying I was really looking forward to this book for forever. Kelly included sneak peeks and samples in her newsletters for months and I was impatiently waiting for it to finally be released. And it was good. It was very good. Ford and Griff were both fantastic and I really liked Chelsea a lot. They were all three great together and I was happy to see them finally get their HEA. I did have a couple of small issues, though. The beginning of the book was kind of slow and a lot of what was included was, to me, unnecessary and unimportant. There was also way too much detail about her job, especially since it wasn’t really that relevant to the story. I loved seeing Chelsea and Ford become friends first, so necessary later, but all the detailed scenes with Ford and Jeff and Chelsea’s different dates kept the important part of the story from moving along. The big angst in the plot was very predictable and, to be honest, so was the resolution. I also felt Griff acted silly and out of character in his actions afterwards. The ending was happy but not as emotional as I felt it should have been and the epilogue was contrived and added nothing to the story.

In between the slow beginning and slightly flat end, though, there’s a beautiful story of three people who come together and grow to love each other despite having a relationship that is unconventional. I also just loved the cameo of Kassidy, Chris and Dag from Rule of Three. It was fun and also a nice touch having them give advice one triad to another.

Overall I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a great MMF love story.

Kelly Jamieson’s Royally Indecent explores the polyamorous relationship between Chelsea Alderich and Ford Sullivan—best friends and roommates—and reformed playboy and reluctant Prince Griffin Marlow of Eria. Written in the first-person POVs of all three characters, this novel is very different from any I’ve read by Jamieson. It’s a lot darker with a more mainstream fiction feel, which is not bad, just noticeably different. Jamieson’s narrative draws you in with vivid description, authentic-sounding dialogue, an intriguing story, and likable characters you want so badly to find true love and happiness. Of course, I love all the pining and Chelsea’s dreams!

I love how Chelsea and Ford came into each other’s lives randomly but were drawn to each other so intensely and immediately. Then they bonded over the shared experience of loss and tragedy. Jamieson developed backstories for Chelsea and Ford filled with pain and darkness. And instead of letting it break them, they used it to become extraordinary people who genuinely care about others and want to make the world better. Then there’s Griffin, whose backstory is not as tragic, but his life is all planned out for him, controlled, and limited, keeping him from being the force for change and good in the world he wants to be.

Jamieson wonderfully lays the foundation for the relationship between these characters, who seem to be fated to be together. She carefully develops deep, genuine, separate relationships between Chelsea and Ford, Chelsea and Griffin, and Griffin and Ford. Before they have to choose with whom they want to be in a relationship and what that relationship would look like, they have clarity about their feelings. The love and intimacy between Chelsea, Ford, and Griffin and their care and concern for each other are genuine. So, it’s believable that Chelsea, a sweet and nearly innocent young woman, would even consider being in a polyamorous relationship with Griffin and Ford—two bisexual men who had already been in a sexual relationship. Griffin, Ford, and Chelsea’s lives are already profoundly emotionally entwined at this point.

The love scenes are emotionally intense, steamy, intimate, and sexy. However, Griffin and Ford’s emotional connection in their love scenes seemed stronger, even with Chelsea. Perhaps because of the circumstances under which they fell in love. Jamieson nicely captures the confusion, uncertainty, anger, and jealousy Chelsea, Griffin, and Ford experience while navigating their situation.

Chelsea and Ford first meet when he rescues her from a bad first date. He’s out on a date with his boyfriend, so despite feeling an immediate spark for him, Chelsea assumes that he’s gay. From that night on, they quickly become best friends, then roommates. Even though it’s pointless, Chelsea’s attraction to him doesn’t fade—it intensifies, manifesting in hot dreams.

So, she starts dating and meets Prince Griffin, who runs a non-profit for veterans, at a charity gala. They start spending all their time together, and she’s falling for him before she knows it. But unfortunately, Prince Griffin is only in the U.S. temporarily. Because he must return to his country to take his place in line to the throne, a future between them is impossible. But he can’t stop thinking about Chelsea and has fallen for her just as hard.

Meanwhile, Ford unexpectedly finds his feelings for Chelsea changing over time to more than friendship. He’s determined not to cross that line unless she feels the same. But he starts to suspect that she’s dating someone, which makes him jealous. When he comes home to their apartment and meets her new boyfriend—Prince Griffin of Eria—he’s no longer just jealous. He’s infuriated because he knows him intimately.

Royally Indecent is an angsty, steamy, intriguing, and sexy romance about grief, healing, overcoming past trauma and adversity, following your dreams, and taking risks for love and being with your soulmate or soulmates.

A very unique spicy romance, well developed characters with depth. A great relationship twist a unique and interesting story.

I snagged this book to read and review as soon as I saw it was by Kelly Jamieson. It was later that I read the blurb. No worries. I read pretty much everything...so a polyamorous relationship didn't bother me. As a matter of fact, I was curious to see how that could play out with a prince in the midst.

I definitely didn't have any trouble understanding how each of the three individuals connected and fell for each other. I liked the backstory on Ford and Griffin. It definitely gives substance to where the relationship goes once Chelsea is introduced at a later point. As hard as it is for me to understand how this could personally work, the author did a great job of depicting this relationship in a way that left no doubt that these three cared deeply for one another and harbored no jealousy. Not only was it sweet at times, it was also extremely hot ....like kindle scorching hot.. So, don't say you weren't warned.

It took a bit for me to get into the story initially, but once I did, the book flew by. Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC. I voluntarily chose to read and review it and the opinions contained within are my own.

An unexpected twist in this story made for a very entertaining read. Ford, Chelsea, and Griff are very engaging characters. The story moves along at a good pace, the characters are developed and the storyline is quite unique.
