Thank you to Kensington and NetGalley for the eARC.
I was blown away by how good this was. It was twisty in the right way and kept me hooked. I was happy to see it as an Aardvark Book Club pick too - totally great choice. Will continue to read Terri Parlato's future work!
A suspenseful psychological thriller with twists and turns that will keep the reading guessing until the very end. A compelling plot, characters and terrific storytelling.

All the Dark Places by Terri Parlato is a surprisingly amazing novel. I love suspense and I was so excited to read this book. I did not expect that this would be one of the best suspense novels I’ve read this year. With surprising hidden secrets and twists you won’t expect, this novel will keep you turning pages late into the night. I highly recommend it. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.
I really enjoyed this novel! It's face paced and the character development was amazing. I will definitely be reading more work from Terri!
5 stars out of 5!
Molly is excited to celebrate her husbands birthday. Unknowingly it will be her last happy memory of him after tragedy hits. Dealing with the detestation secrets from her past emerge and she is forced to deal with them while handling her current grief and police investigations.
A classic mystery novel. This book is entertaining and will keep you engaged. I really enjoyed it and highly recommend it!
Following the celebration of her husband of her husband Jay's 40th, Molly awakes to find him brutally murdered in their home. What follows is a gripping narrative of who committed the crime, with secrets lurking around every corner.
I enjoyed the alternating narratives from both Molly and the detective's POV. Suspenseful and hard to put down, this was an excellent debut.
This was an excellent read!! The chapters were short but so compelling. I simply could not put this one down. The multiple POV really drive the story forward for me. Looking forward to more from this author
Very solid debut! The opening chapter is Jay's 40th Birthday party. The description of the scene from the wintry, holiday setting, complete with twinkling tree to all of the couple's close friends had me hooked. Never mind the murder! Someone at the party wasn't a friend. Molly, Jay's wife and Rita, the detective on the case were both strong, fleshed out characters. I had no clue as to the culprit. All in all, loved this one! Would love more from this author!

I really enjoyed this book! I read it in one sitting! I was surprised at a twist in the book. I would definitely recommend this book!
⭐⭐⭐⭐.5/5
• fast paced thriller (short chapters 🙌)
• dual POVs
• easy flowing writing
This one has it all! Police procedural, character study, abduction... There were fun twists and red herrings but I kept waiting for oneeeee more shock in the end that never came. I still really enjoyed it!
🗣️ Thank you to @netgalley and @kensingtonbooks for the opportunity to read and review this book via gifted eARC! All opinions are honest and my own.
I really liked Rita and liked that we saw her away from the job, which gave us a better understanding of who she was.
I was immediately drawn in. The short chapters were great and the story flowed. I found myself suspecting everyone. Even eleven year old Alice may have blipped on my radar, but she quickly was off my list.
The investigation took me on a wild ride and I loved the way the story unfolded.
What a debut book! Thank you for the opportunity to read this book! I could not put it down and loved the scenery throughout the book. So much suspense, which is what I LOVE in a good book! I will definitely be recommending this book to my fellow thriller/suspense friends! Thanks for the fun read!
I thoroughly enjoyed this wild ride! All the Dark Places centers on Molly, whose husband Jay is brutally murdered the night of his 40th birthday party. Detective Rita Myers is certain that the killer is among the couple's close group of friends But who?
After starting with the flop this year, I was stoked to pick up this domestic thriller. It's fast-paced, and I really loved Detective Rita (and could easily see her in a series!).
Thank you to NetGalley and Kensington Books for this eARC!
4/5 stars
Thank you to Netgalley, the publishers, and Terri Parlato for allowing me to read and review this book.
I really enjoyed this book. It was hard to put down. The characters and story line are well written and well developed. I thought I knew what was going to happen, but I was wrong.
It is a dual point of view with the main characters being the victim and the other being the lead police officer on the case. There are many different characters and backstories that you get to see within this story. You think it is a easy to predict story, but that is proven to be wrong pretty quickly.
I would definitely recommend this book to someone who is looking for a well written thriller that can be hard to put down until you finally find out what is happening.
It was a nice fast paced thriller. I couldn't wait to find out who the killer was. The ending was wrapped up very nicely.
I found the pace in the book to be a little slow and lacked the thrill factor for me. I did like the short chapters , and it had lots of unlikeable characters for us to read about.
This is a strong debut novel which I really enjoyed. The detective, Rita, is a strong and likeable character, and she could easily feature in a series. Part police procedural, part psychological thriller, this book had plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader guessing. Will definitely be keeping an eye out for Parlato's next book.
I felt like I was reading a completely different book than everyone else. I didn’t really enjoy this as much as I had hoped.
I had a hard time connecting with it keeping up with the different characters because they weren’t memorable, which made the ending lack luster.
I wish that I had loved it more, and I suggest everyone make their own opinions about it, because others have enjoyed it.
I really wanted to like this one. I thought the ending was really good, the solving of the mystery. BUT for me the whole reading process was hampered by the dual first person viewpoints. I think the two main characters would have been better developed in the third person. I was far more interested in the more-than-middle aged woman detective than the story itself. I think she deserved more. It wasn't badly written, I just think the choice of two first person viewpoints made for a hard and disappointing read.
This book was absolutely amazing. I loved how all of the secrets were revealed, and the portrayal of how the average woman would react to her husband's death. Prepare to clear your afternoon for this one to read in one sitting!
