This book was phenomenal! The representation was flawless all around. I found myself really able to root for both of the two main characters. There was one point towards the end where I found myself frustrated with the main character, but I could also feel her heartbreak and how scared she was. The way it all wrapped up was perfection.
So if you are looking for a sapphic love story about a popular rising actress and a hopeful script writer with themes of found family and self acceptance this is definitely the book for you!

I am such a sucker for celeb romances. I absolutely adore everything about them, which is why I very excited for this book when I first read the premise. Sapphic celebs? Sign me up right now! I'm so happy I requested this book because it absolutely did not disappoint. I loved it so much. The writing, the characters, the romance... All of it was just so, so, so good. I'm a fan! I will definitely be on the look out for this author going forward.

If you love sapphic romances and celebrity romances, then this one is definitely for you!
I loved Nina so much and found that the awful things she has gone through were written in such a tasteful manner that you couldn’t help but wish for the absolute best for her.
I enjoyed how Nina and Ari were friends first and then built their relationship on top of that, made it seem like a realistic relationship!
If you like books with curvy women representation, sapphic romance and found family, you will enjoy this book! The perfect wlw summer read!

I received an advanced copy of For Her Consideration by Amy Spalding from the publisher Kensington Books via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
What It’s About: Since a crushing and toxic breakup three years ago, Nina Rice has disappeared from the bustle of her LA life including her friends, scriptwriting for TV, and any chance of romance out of fear of hurting other people. Nina has a job where she manages client email’s for a local talent agency. But when Ari Fox, a young actress on everyone’s radar, is unhappy with the emails and tries to get to know her and as they connect, Nina finds herself connecting with Ari and engaging with life more than she has in the past three days.
What I Loved: Oh, I really enjoyed this one, I read another sapphic romance set in Hollywood recently and didn’t enjoy it as much so this book just delivered for me so much. I loved the chemistry between Nina and Ari, watching their relationship build was really rewarding and finding these two souls connecting was delightful. I loved the found family aspect of this book, the group of friends are just really lovely and I wanted to hang out with this group, please take me to Palm Springs with this crew. I loved the connection Nina had with her great aunt and the retirement community, I love a good crew of elderly friends!
What I Didn’t Like: Okay, so Nina is dealing with a lot of trauma and depression from her bad break-up that she hasn’t processed. This depression has made her isolated and she has isolated herself to protect others and her hurting others to protect them is hard to read and at times we watch her take a lot of blame for stuff that isn’t hers and this often allows other characters to get away with more than they should. And this made the last I suppose twenty percent a bit harder to read.
Who Should Read It: People who are looking for a fun Hollywood sapphic romance. People who love famous-nonfamous person trope.
Summary: Nina has been living in isolation but a work related disaster allows her life to bloom again.

Nina’s job is emails-literally. She writes emails for LA celebrities who don’t have the time to write their own, and she is really good at it. Who cares that her dream of writing television shows doesn’t seem to be going anywhere? But when up and coming queer actress Ari Fox doesn’t like Nina’s emails and Nina’s boss dictates they spend time together so Nina can get Ari’s voice right, the chemistry between the two is undeniable.
I loved Amy Spalding’s The Summer of Jordi Perez, so I was so excited to get the opportunity to read her adult debut! Overall, For Her Consideration is a fun romance with the lively background of queer Los Angeles. Over the course of the book, we not only get to know Nina and Ari, but a delightful cast of background characters including Nina’s friend group and her great aunt (both an absolute hoot).
However, For Her Consideration is also Nina’s personal story. At the end of her last serious relationship a few years ago, her ex gave her a list of, essentially, what she considered to be Nina’s deficiencies, and claimed these traits would drive away everyone in her life. Naturally, this really got into Nina’s head and she pushed most of the people in her life away. On top of that, she has let her career go stagnant. Throughout the novel, Nina has to learn how to move past her preconceived notions of herself and get herself unstuck. In the end, I was very satisfied with the resolution to these plots, but it was quite difficult to read some of Nina’s self-deprecation, which is in the majority of the book.
Although the book is generally quite fun, I didn’t find it to be very bingeable. In the middle of the book the pacing dragged and the storyline was a bit repetitive, so it was difficult to read a lot in one day (which is what I was doing).
What I did really appreciate is that although there was a third act breakup, in the end Nina and Ari were able to work through the issues they had in a really mature, adult way. They acknowledged they both made mistakes and had things they needed to work on, and actually talked through their issues.
If you are a fan of celebrity romances, or looking for a fun, queer romance to pick up this summer, I would certainly recommend For Her Consideration.

I loved the friend group in this story and liked both of the leads and the elders. I would love a series to be coming from this

This was a sweet f/f romance . A cute read and beautifuly written.. Thans to netgalley for this arc.

This was delightful, I had previously read and loved Amy Spalding's YA and when I picked this up I had presumed it was also YA it was a lovely surprise to find out it was an adult contemporary romance. I definitely hope we will be getting more contemporary romance from Amy Spalding.
I loved this! Nina is probably one of the most relatable characters I had read from in a long while, and I absolutely adore her and Ari's romance. The friend group is amazing and I would love to read all of their stories. There were a couple of plot elements that didn't make a ton of sense (no one in Nina's group of best friend's bothers to see what happened to her when she disappears for years for instance.) but for me this didn't detract from my enjoyment. This was so much fun and a pure joy to read sometimes you just need a book that warms your heart and makes you happy and For Her Consideration was 100% this for me.

Adorable female/female queer romcom of my dreams! I loved this from start to finish and could not be more delighted reading it. I'm someone who works in the entertainment industry and I found all the little details in this book so satisfying.

I would like to thank netgalley and Kensington books for a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
Enjoyable.

Thanks to #NetGalley and #Kensington for the #ARC of #ForHerConsideration by #AmySpalding ! Here is my spoiler free review of For Her Consideration!
I loved this book to the very core of my being! Nina and Ari are two Lesbian-identifying women at the center of this love story. Ari, an up and coming Queer Actor who is a favorite in the Oscar race, meets the woman who responds to and writes all of her business email correspondences. While sparks don’t fly, what happens is even better in my opinion. This is a friends - to - lovers story that is wholesome and pure.
I like that the Hollywood aspect wasn’t huge in the book. It was in the background, but not the main focus. The main focus was the friendship that started to develop between Ari and Nina. That friendship, once they both realized they had feelings for each other, developed into a beautiful relationship!
I also loved that this story completely normalizes a curvy woman as the Main Character! Nina is beautiful, confident, and curvy. She loves her curves! I love seeing that she is so confident and proud of herself because of her curves, instead of seeing a story that she is overcoming obstacles, or that she’s happy despite her curves. That was something that really spoke a lot to me. I felt seen!
The found family in this book might just be my favorite of any book I’ve read in a long time! There are pretty much no men in this story, except for an adorable Uber driver! Also, this book felt like a love story to the city of LA.
Finally, this is a story that deals with some traumatic past relationship topics. Nina’s previous relationship, Taylor, said and did many things that stuck with Nina. Those words and actions caused Nina to withdraw from her friends and family. So check some content warnings if that’s something that may trigger you.
Overall, this was a fantastically queer and sapphic love story! It’s perfect to read when you need a light hearted, feel good, rom-com that has great characters and fantastic plot!

This is a fun and empowering read that celebrates the power of female friendship and resilience in the face of adversity. The story follows three Hollywood hopefuls who navigate the cutthroat world of entertainment while trying to stay true to themselves and each other. The writing is witty and relatable and the characters are likable and well-developed. Their struggles feel authentic and meaningful.
Sincere thanks to NetGalley and Kensington Books for an advanced reader copy, in exchange for an honest review.

Amy Spalding created a fun and wonderfully done romance novel here. I really enjoyed getting to know these characters and watching their happy ever after play out.
Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for providing me with an arc for an honest review.

If I’m being honest I would probably give this book a 2.5 but I avoid give 0.5 stars so have at it with the 3 stars. I’m confused about my own feelings regarding this book. It’s written in the POV of Nina, which wouldn’t be that big of an issue if she didn’t internalize everything. I get our entire generation needing therapy, but wow… Having only Nina’s POV didn’t help me with caring about her relationship with Ari. At first I was waiting for it but then Nina continued to either be blind to it or downplay it, and it made me care a lot less. I also don’t feel like I know that much about Ari or the other side characters. That especially saddens me since quite a few of them seem to have an incredibly fascinating life and backstory. No offense, Nina…
The pacing of this book just didn’t sit right with me, and then the added drama 2/3 through the book. I feel like the drama was really played up to have some plot which is not a feeling I tend to get that often.
So yeah, I’m sure lots of people will have connected with Nina & Ari’s relationship. I’m just not one of those people.

dnf at 20% book wasn't for me, unfortunately.
It had potential and I really wanted to like it. However, I just feel the writing style was not for me and I wasn't super interested in the plot when reading. I may give more books by the author another go in the future, this story just wasn't for me.

Immediately I was drawn to the characters in For Her Consideration. What resonated with me the most was how Nina feels she isn't made for relationships. A bad breakup means that Nina has a list - literally - of the things that she is convinced caused her breakup. She feels like a self-destructive time bomb and if that isn't relatable than I'm not sure what is. The whole time, we're wondering if there's any truth to the list? While Nina's character journey was relatable - needing to believe in our own worthiness in life and also love - there were just a few instances holding back my obsession.

An adorable sapphic romance between a actor and the correspondence writer for the manager. I look forward to reading more from Amy Spalding.

3.5 / I have mixed feelings about this book. The romance was all fun and well done, but I just cannot be convinced to like the main character! The book starts out with a breakup from years ago, where her ex-girlfriend provides a list of her flaws. This is obviously cruel, but I found myself agreeing to more of them as the book went along. She's just a bad friend and every time I came around to forgive her, she'd do something else. I don't know if it would've been so bad if that seed wasn't planted in the beginning, but oh well. Thanks to NetGalley for the ARC!

Three years after a bad breakup Nina Rice - manager of celebrity email accounts - meets the actress on everyone’s radar, Ari Fox and feelings Nina thought she’d never feel again start to stir. Will her job jeopardise whatever is budding between her and Ari? Or vice versa?

Give me a sapphic rom com with a somewhat forbidden romance trope and a plus size main character and I’m instantly invested.
The family dynamic? Loved it.
The relationship? Loved it.
The friend group? Loved it.
Thank you NetGalley for the eARC in exchange for an honest (albeit late) review

Very cute! It definitely follows a very predictable romance style outline, but I don’t think the book suffered overall because of it.
