I really enjoyed this book as it was a light, fun read set in my favorite city - Paris. it is definitely not a book to read if you are hungry as it's filled with such descriptive dishes that make you want to taste them. The characters are varied, some normal and some wacky but they are all quite likeable and well fleshed out. The plot is fun, centering on a chef who has way too many doubts about herself and her new restaurant in Paris. Of course, there is some romance but it doesn't take over the book - just enough to make it really interesting. All in all, this is a book I would recommend for a fun, light summer read.

The descriptions of the food and spices are magnificent! The author makes me want to visit France and eat all of the food. However, the romance was ehhhh. It didn't make much sense for Kate and Charles to hate each other on sight; it didn't make any more sense when they fell in love so quickly.

Also the makeover scene made me a little uncomfortable. The whole point of the book was Kate coming into her own power. Having three women tell her that her hair looked like "seaweed" and make her over? It was uncomfortable.

This cute novel is the perfect blend of a chef's romance mixed with the films Simply Irresistible and The Mistress of Spices. Good character banter, great chemistry and an endearing story but it could have amped up the swoon factor a bit.
