A wonderful book, as to be expected for Deb. Me and my friends are big Deb fans, so I will be sure to recommend this to library patrons as well.
Another wonderful, accessible cookbook from Smitten Kitchen! The ricotta gnocchi in particular was delicious, and quite easy to put together.
I've always found Deb Perelman's recipes to be spot-on. in terms of ingredients, directions and, most importantly, flavor and this collection is no exception to that.
*Smitten Kitchen is a recipe book that covers the author’s favorites over time. It’s like collecting all your favorite recipes for your child when they go off to college. The recipes cover a range from savory to sweet and are doable.
*I tried to bake from many sections of the book. Most of the recipes worked and many of them were good. This is a good basic cookbook and might make a good newlywed gift. Of note is her discussion about salt; her best advice is to cut the amount in half and then taste to see if more is needed.
*This book has many standards and would be most useful for beginners; however, because there are recipes that push the boundary a bit, intermediates might find useful recipes here too.
Lots of very delicious looking recipes. I've shown it to other people now that it is out and they have tried and found new regular recipes! Will recommend.
I love reading cookbooks. I'm so excited to try out some recipes from this one. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes cooking!
Smitten Kitchen Keepers is an absolute delight for any food lover! Deb Perelman has done it again with her mouth-watering recipes and charming writing style. The book is filled with 100 recipes that are easy to follow and yield delicious results every time. What sets this cookbook apart is that it's not just a collection of recipes, but a guide to becoming a better home cook.
Perelman's emphasis on practicality and reliability in her recipes is truly commendable. She provides tips and tricks to make shopping and preparation easier and more enjoyable, which is a godsend for busy home cooks. Her recipes are a perfect balance of classic and modern, and there's something for everyone in this book.
From the full-crunch cucumber salad to the butterscotched apple crisp, each recipe is a keeper. The tomato and corn cobbler tastes like summer on a plate, and the deep-dish broccoli cheddar quiche is a game-changer. And don't even get me started on the ultimate pound cake! This cookbook is a treasure trove of deliciousness.
Overall, Smitten Kitchen Keepers is a must-have for any home cook who wants to up their game. With this book, you'll have fail-safe, satisfying recipes at your fingertips that you'll rely on for years to come. Thank you, Deb Perelman, for another amazing cookbook!
I adore Smitten Kitchen books, and this one holds true to the trend. I tried a few recipes and they were keepers for sure. I look forward to diving further into the book's offerings.
I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. A lovely cookbook with a few recipes that I would like to try, but not as many as I was hoping for.
Smitten Kitchen is popular at my library and patrons will love this. Recipes are very accessible and appealing to people of different tastes.
This collection of recipes is accessible and down to earth. It's focused on meals that you can make again and again that don't require exotic ingredients or specialized equipment. They are definitely comfort recipes that you will find yourself making over and over again.
I've loved the other Smitten Kitchen cookbooks and this one is no exception. I feel like these are really approachable recipes and the ones included are fantastic (or at least the ones I've tried so far are)!!
One of my favorite cooking Instagrams, Smitten Kitchen provides a lot of inspiration, with plenty of New York and Jewish inspired recipes. Smitten Kitchen Keepers, Deb Perelman’s third cookbook, is inventive and includes new family classics that you will come back to again and again. Like Challah Cheesecake Buns (hello!), The Angry Grandma (pepperoni pizza named after a pizzeria in Jersey), and slow-roasted Chicken with Schmaltzy Croutons. This is a cookbook written with a great deal of humor and many great tips for upping the ante on flavor. A must have for public library collections.
What is there to say about Deb Perelman and Smitten Kitchen that hasn’t already been said? I’ve been a fan of hers since I started cooking for myself, and her recipes are always a wonderful mixture of complex and homey. Smitten Kitchen Keepers is no exception, creating a list of essential recipes that I really could use to get me through any event. I started reading this cookbook as I planned for the fall and winter holidays, and I bookmarked over 10 recipes to attempt to share with my family. The cooking was deceptively easy, and in cases like the breakfast potato chips and sheet pan eggs, absolute revelations for how I will cook in the future. I’m looking forward to making more of these recipes soon!
Everything is delicious as always! Deb's recipes are winners every time and I appreciate all the fun anecdotes about her life and family. I brought the molasses ginger cookies to a work event where they were promptly devoured. There are so many things I can't wait to try from this book.
I loved this so much I immediately ordered my own copy! True to the author's foreword, this book is full of simple, comforting dishes you will want to make again and again.
Many thanks to NetGalley, Deb Perelman and her publisher for allowing me to read an advance copy.
Another chock-full, reliable winner from Smitten Kitchen's Deb Perelman. Her voice, as an author, is charming and warm, like a friend is sharing that recipe that you've simply got to try. As a cook, her recipes are about as flawless as they come. I'll never say no to a Smitten Kitchen cookbook!
Thanks to NetGalley and Knopf for an advanced readers copy in exchange for an honest review.

I have been a huge fan of Deb Perelman for a long time. My go to line after every Smitten Kitchen recipe is "Deb never disappoints!" Smitten Kitchen Keepers is another solid addition to anyone's cookbook collection. Great recipes, tons of pictures, clear easy to follow directions. Also Deb has an amazing way of connecting with her fellow cooks.
A great addition to Deb Perelman's already wonderful selection of cookbooks. This book has something for all seasons and tastes and provides plenty of easy but still impressive options for weeknight meals. A good choice for fans of Smitten Kitchen or those looking to have a batch of well-tested recipes in a variety of courses on hand.
Fans of the Smitten Kitchen blog will surely enjoy this new cookbook, full of 'Keepers'.
While I haven't actually attempted to cook/bake anything from this book yet, I have several recipes (far more than most cookbooks I've previously read) bookmarked to come back to. As a long-time follower of Deb Perelman's blog, and having made several recipes from that blog over the years, I'm confident that any recipes from Keepers I eventually get around to trying will also be quite good. I especially appreciate having measurements in both volume AND weight.
