Not the best crochet book on the market. Felt very similar to other books. To buy your really looking for fresh new ideas
This is a really text-heavy how-to book. I personally found it completely overwhelming though it does have a ton of information and lots of color photos. I do not crochet but two of my kids are self taught. They picked it up from a friend of mine who taught them in just a few minutes. Both of them are really good at making hats, coasters, etc. with all different styles. I can't help but wonder if they would have been able to learn if they'd had a book instead, because it makes it seem so complicated. I want to learn to crochet too, but I think I'll ask my kids to teach me instead of relying on a book.
If you like books that are extremely heavy on information and instruction, this will be a good one. If you want something that makes it look simple and straightforward, this may not do the trick.
I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for review.
Super easy crochet for beginners is a great book for anyone wanting to learn the craft. I highly recommend it
This is a wonderfully written book full of beautiful and helpful illustrations. It explains terms from crochet hooks to yarn. The patterns are easy to follow and build upon techniques so you start out with small projects and progressively learn harder techniques. I was a little disappointed in the lack of explanation for left-handed learners. It basically just said hold hook in your left hand and follow the instructions in reverse or learn it right-handed. We have a crochet class at the domestic violence center I work for and I plan to use these patterns with our women there.
This Super Easy Crochet for Beginners Book is Beautifully written with great instructions to follow. Perfect for beginners with some great time saving tips. I wish I had a book like this when I wanted to learn crochet
Thank you Net Galley for a copy of Super Easy Crochet for Beginners by Deborah Burger . I was hoping the book had more current information. I found the information to be dated. The patterns were dated.
A nicely composed book (with a few dated-sounding references). The pictures present are comprehensive and seem to be clear, although the aspect ratio did not seem to be geared towards the NetGalley reader. There is the chance that this may be a little too broad-spectrum in its scope for a true beginner to the topic, but it is all good information to have on hand for when it is encountered.
As a beginner in the world of crochet, it is difficult to find a book that is genuinely for beginners; many of them are full of jargon without explanation, have a lack of photographs, and require previous knowledge. This title, however, is a beautiful example of a true beginner's guide. It was easy to follow, full of wonderful photographs, and had projects that advanced in difficulty as readers progressed through the book. With the added bonus of "tips and tricks", I could see this as an instant favorite for those venturing into the world of crochet and a fun challenge to work through each chapter. I myself have already started one project from the book and intent to hone my skills to make the more expansive projects toward the end. Will be recommending for purchase for my Library.
Very basic with projects that offer nothing new, same old granny looking items. Sure they are easy to make when learning. The instructions are clear but being left handed useless for me.
I’ve not had a lot of luck with crochet books in the past but this one has some of the best illustrations that I’ve seen. Actual simple projects are written out in words rather than abbreviations which was very welcomed. I can’t wait to finish my first project!
I would like to thank Netgalley and Quarto Publishing Group for a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
Looks good and I hope it will help me as I learn to crochet. The crochet patterns themselves don’t look very interesting.
Thank you to NetGalley and the Publisher for giving me this eArc to review.
I like crochet but often need a book to reference and this was perfect. It was easy to follow and I liked the images that were in the book that helped guide.
Thank you for my earc of this book! I have tried knitting (v briefly) and wanted to try crocheting too. This was such a nice reference to have at hand when learning. I can’t wait to finish my first project!
A very good beginners guide to crochet with a few excellent and fun patterns to try out and easy to follow instructions.
A simplistic guide with easy patterns for beginners or those who prefer easier projects- as well as more intricate ones. Includes projects for bags, slippers, and other accessories. This book touches on theory such as the need for creating swatches.
This is a solid book to use to learn how to crochet. I especially like the troubleshooting information.
This book is a very good book for beginners who are learning to crochet. It has tones of simple patterns which beginners can try out. The book has some great illustrations too.
Thanks to netgalley, the publisher and author for this ebook.
I love this book. What a great book for teaching crochet. I have tried many time to learn and each time I give up.
I’ve gotten the furthest I have with this book and it’s step by step instructions. It covers all the basics and for when I’ve improved and got my confidence it has some great little projects to try.
A great introduction to crochet, different yarns and different stitches. Brilliant for any beginner.
Myself I am a keep knitted but love the variety that crochet offers.
Super Easy Crochet for Beginners: Learn Crochet with Simple Stitch Patterns, Projects, and Tons of Tips is the absolute beginners guide to learning the craft of crochet. It is the perfect introduction that provides step by step instructions for getting started and learning progressively harder stitches and techniques. There are lots of pictures and photographs and the instructions are easy to follow. There are ‘swatches’ to have a go at for each new skill followed by a project pattern to try it out properly. There are tips and tricks throughout the book. Overall a good beginner tutorial guide.
I want to thank the author for gifting me the ebook. What a cute book. This book is actually stuffed full of patterns. I found some really great ones that I cannot wait to try. The author does a great job explaining crochet. Highly recommend!
