I am no longer a beginner at knitting. I can safely say that with the number of things I have worked on in the past one month itself. It is a learning process, and I am mostly self-taught using some video assistance. Recently though, I have been finding books and their printed patterns more helpful than the written section. So much so that I even bought a complete design guide from the library sale.
I would have appreciated a book like this earlier in my learning experience. The author walks us through all the requirements in a step-wise manner. Everything is clear, and the projects provided incorporate a range of experiences and designs, meaning that as one develops the skill, one can continue to use this book.
The book does say it provides instructions for left-hand knitters as well, something that I did not need, so I cannot talk about, but I have not seen it in too many other books I randomly pick up at the library.
The best thing that I can say about the book is that it delivers on what the blurb promises. I would highly recommend this to anyone who is considering trying the hobby out, and I would recommend trying the hobby out if you have the time, it's highly addictive!
I received this book as an ARC thanks to NetGalley and the publishers but the review is entirely based on my own reading.

This is a great intro book for knitting, with loads of good photos and types of projects. I especially enjoyed the varieties of yarns showcased as well as the many types of stitches, including cable stitches, they provided instructions for. It made for a more complete book. That being said, it is very much for the beginner and doesn't lend as well to anyone moving towards patterns with an intermediate complexity.

Super Easy Knitting for Beginners is a great book for any person wanting to learn or develop their beginner knitting skills. I’ve been able to do basic stitches for awhile, but have been wanting to learn some more knitting skills. The book included pictures that detailed the steps for each process.

I really enjoyed this guide book! It breaks down knitting into very managable steps, and there are plenty of good illustrations! The best thing, however, was probably the inclusion of level appropriate patterns to use throughout the book!
I would definitely consider buying this to have since I'm still learning a bit to knit! A great tool to have!

Informative and easy to follow! This book is helpful to the beginning knitter as well as a learning tool to your further knowledge for a lesser novice in some aspects. I would recommend it to anyone skilled as less than intermediate for sure.

This book is a nicely illustrated guide for the beginner knitter. It contains detailed instructions for all the basic techniques, along with photos of each step. The projects are diverse, not just the usual hats and scarves--there are patterns for a knitted bath rug, as well as some lacy knit curtains. As an intermediate knitter, I'm not sure I'd be brave enough to tackle the latter. Felting technique is also included in a couple of the patterns. Overall, it's a good guide, with lots of interesting patterns to get one started.

Overall such a great introduction to knitting! Really liked the descriptions, steps and photos! Great for a beginner or if you've been knitting awhile. Definitely recommend!

**Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for sending me this.

While this book had a lot of helpful skill tutorials with pictures, it really seemed to jump around from basic beginner (garter stitch scarf) to not really beginner (one item with increases/decreases and multiple colors) without a lot of pacing or thought. Not sure why circular needles or a rectangular, striped bath mat would be *after* a complicated piece like that? The placement of projects could've been more thoughtful so as not to be intimidating. Also, many of the projects were a bit old-fashioned and not really my style.

An excellent introduction to knitting and the skills needed to move on to larger projects. Definitions are clear and the "swatch" knitting exercises provide easy ways to try new skills. A good selection of interesting projects that people will want to make. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy.

"Super Easy Knitting for Beginners" by Carri Hammett is a great beginner book. I loved all the pictures showing the step by step movements needed to knit. And the instructions for each project are very thorough. There are a variety of different projects, so you would have your choice of knits to make.

I've been trying to learn to knit for years and sadly nothing clicked. I just couldn't understand the mechanics but this book changed that! Now I didn't go from nothing to a full scarf but I can now understand what is happening and get things started. This is the perfect book for beginners and anyone that needs some help with how to knit. I especially loved the pictures that guide through the different parts of how to do each aspect.

This book is literally what it says in the title, so for someone who has never knitted but would like to learn, or who has only done the absolute basics, it is absolutely perfect.
It gives you information about the different knitting needles there are and any other tools you may need and talks about the types of yarns, including a glossary of the different terms used when speaking about yarns.
There are step by step, illustrated, simple and easy to follow instructions to get you started and take you through the basics. Then there are small projects for you to try and these gradually increase in difficulty as you gain skills working through the book.
A great introduction to this craft that is perfect for any beginner.
My thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this book in return for an honest review.

All the basics of knitting are covered here with clear photos and fun projects. Beginning with yarn types and reading yarn labels for needle size and gauge, this book will have you knitting in no time! An explanation of knitting terms will help you read your first pattern. Plenty of photos will help you cast on your first project. Both the English and Continental (my preferred) method of knitting is covered. After you learn to make a knit stitch, you will make a Garter Stitch scarf knitting every row. Learn the purl stitch and you will move on to Stockinette Stitch, knitting one row, purling the next. From there you will learn about circular and double pointed needles to knit in the round. A felted Christmas tree is even included to learn about increasing and decreasing. Some of the projects include a hat, bag, mat, and shawl. It even covers slip stitch and lace for curtains. Of course mistakes will be made and the books ends with troubleshooting those pesky twisted, dropped, and mistakenly increased stitches.

I got the crocheting version of this book as well, and I have to say, I think I like this one more, only because I’m more of a beginner at knitting so it’s more helpful. I love that I can refer to this book for pretty much any part of the knitting process, and how it teaches you how to do more stitches!
