I liked where the story moving towards. Would love to read the whole story.
Thank you Netgalley for giving a chance to read this preview.
Can I get more of this?
Pretty please and thank you!
I love her books and how she mixes characters, races and romance in the most reliable and genuine fashion.
After reading the first five chapters of On The Hustle by Adriana Herrera all I have to say is wow. Alba is everything I want in a strong FMC, she does not take Theo’s shit. On The Hustle a story about the Personal Assistant for a strict heir to a Real Estate Empire who also happened to be an ex-Olympic medal swimming champion and her making a career transition to focus on her interior designer business. The reader is thrust into Alba’s role as a Personal Assistant for a strict employer and you see fast all the sacrifices she makes for her loved ones. What I didn’t expect was how shameless Theo was at pursuing Alba. He knew he ran out of time and he hit the ground running to try to win her back. In the sample the banter was grade A, Alba called Theo Mr. Ganas just to provoke him and he did the same. He called her a different name, to be specific she talked about over sharing and revealing all the names her family had in common with her. Not only was Theo listening but he had the good sense to use her real name when it mattered. Alba does not swoon when Theo uses the renovation show to work with her, she gives it to him and he loves it. It’s evident that the chemistry is there, she just cannot see it—yet. I cannot wait to finish reading this book. This will be passionate and fiery I could see already. This sample was a five star read for me.
Thank you Netgalley for the preview of this book. It follows a story of Alba and Theo (her former boss). They will join forces for a series in streamflix. I just thought they were acting little immature.
Adriana Herrera is bringing the fire with On the Hustle! Five chapters in and I'm ready to beg Carina Press for the full ARC. The chemistry between Alba and her former boss Theo sizzles in the first few chapters of this workplace romance. Did I mention Theo, former Olympic swimmer and heir to a real estate empire, has been secretly pining for Alba ever since she started working for him three years ago? *Swoon!* He comes all the way to Dallas to win her heart AND help her gain exposure for her interior design business through a reality show. I cannot wait to see how their love story unfolds.!
This 5 chapter preview had me hooked and very excited to read the rest of the book.
So far we've seen:
*a go-getter heroine deep in denial in regards to her feelings
*a stern, grumpy hero who is pining so hard
*an exciting reality show set-up
*several fun side characters
*snappy writing that kept me "turning" the pages
I think Alba and Theo are going to have such a fun romance - a little forced proximity (outside their usual dynamic) might be just what they need.
4 stars for the preview - with a strong feeling this could be closer to 5 stars upon reading the entire book
This has all the basics for a great story! I really liked the reason why Theo did not want to tell Alba how he feels. The power difference can be a little murky so i’m glad he waited till she left. I also really love Alba. As the first daughter in an ethnic household, I relate a lot to her fears and motivations. Can’t wait to read the rest!
This book feels dated with certain references which isnt always the best thing. Theo was hardly charming and Alba made her chapters feel a bit immature unfortunately. I may try the full book later on to see if it changes my mind but these 5 chapters didn't convince me to read it.
Really enjoyed the preview chapters. I like the dual POV cause we saw a totally new side of Theo when we finally got his perspective. These first 5 chapters pulled me in right away. I'm anxious to see where this goes!
On The Hustle was an absolute treat to read. I devoured it and cannot wait to read it in it’s entirety.
This five chapter preview was FANTASTIC. I will DEFINITELY be reading this whole book. I already love Alba! Her personality really felt like it jumped off the page in her chapters. I also loved every interaction with her friends and family. Strong secondary characters always make books super special and I already love all the people in Alba and Theo's lives.
THEO'S CHAPTER WAS ALSO FANTASTIC. I was SCREECHING. I love a dual POV story, so I can't wait to dive into the full book!
Very intrigued! I love that Alba was not an immediately likable person, it brings so much depth to a story. Looking forward to the reading the whole book!!
