Laurel and Hadley have a tumultuous history. Laurel, afraid of being hurt again, opts to pursue a convenient marriage. Hadley has other ideas. Would recommend as a quick read with a lot of story in a compressed package.
Thank you Cerise Deland, Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley for allowing me an advance copy for my honest feedback.

I received an Advance Reader Copy from the publisher, via NetGalley. This in no way impacted on my view.

After falling for Hadley, Viscount Grey, hard, and then finding herself jilted, Laurel Devereaux will never put her heart at risk again. Declaring she will only marry for security or to have a family, she is shocked when Hadley returns in her life, and vows that he will win her back. Hadley knows he made a mistake leaving Laurel, and winning her back is all he wants. However, it's far more difficult that he could ever have expected, and rather than having to compete against another suitor, he needs to break down her walls, and convince her that she has, and will, always love him.

I always enjoy stories such as this one, full of second chances and past mistakes, and because of that, I think this was my favourite of the series! Hadley and Laurel's romance was not an easy one, and because of her heartbreak, she was vulnerable, and not ready to risk her heart again. Laurel took some time to realise that Hadley was the only person she could ever imagine being with, but it was hard for her to come to that conclusion, and when she did, her stubbornness refused to make it easy. Hadley was patient with Laurel, and allowed her to come to the conclusion they were right for each other at her own pace, which was refreshing. A fantastic ending to the Naughty Ladies series.

After finishing an amazing historical romance last night, I was really looking forward to this one. The synopsis made it sound like it would be so fun! But sadly, this wasn't fun. Despite its short length, it still felt like it was dragging on. And I never felt the chemistry in the romance, it was very bleh. Everything about this book existed, but none if it was particularly compelling or memorable

Thanks to Netgalley for providing a free copy in exchange for an honest review

Honestly I have no idea where I saved the e-arc of this book but I cannot find it anywhere on any of my devices, Also historical romance isn’t really something that can easily impress me

Laurel Devereaux and Hadley Sherbourne, Viscount Grey were in love and engaged to be married when his manipulative father promised him in marriage to a girl in his home village. He broke off the engagement with Laurel and went home to deal with his father and his proposed marriage. Unable to break the agreement, he had to wait for their fathers to pass, so the contract would be void and the young woman was able to marry her love and he could return to Laurel. Laurel was devastated and miserable for two years before Hadley arrived back in her life, determined to win her back and her forgiveness.

This was a simple second chance romance with just the right amount of angst to keep it real, but not painful. I enjoyed Laurel; she made no excuses for the way she still felt about Hadley and his ability to win her back. Hadley was determined and persistent in his pursuit. I did think that some of the more intimate scenes were a little hokey, but I was able to look past them for the most part.

This is the third book of the Naughty Ladies series and just might be my favorite so far. This is Laurel's story, the third Devereaux triplet. Once upon a time she had fallen madly for Hadley, Viscount Grey. But now she doesn't trust any man, especially Hadley, after he left her and broke her heart. Hadley is back after two years, and wants nothing more than to win her back. Except Laurel has built up barriers and has no interest in risking her heart again. Mere flowers and poetry will not get Hadley far in wooing Laurel and winning back her love. Hadley is not arrogant and knows he needs to work hard to win back her trust. This story captured my attention and heart from the very start and kept me captivated till the end. The author did a wonderful job of developing the characters and giving them depth and personality.
The story was engaging involving drama and some intrigue and it kept my interest all the way through. I found this to be an enjoyable story and a great addition to the series. I received a complimentary copy from Dragonblade Publishing via Netgalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

The pain of unfulfilled love. Laurel loved Grey, they were to be married. Then he left her, his father had promised him to another. Years have passed and Grey has returned, determined to win the live he lost. But how does one love without trust?
The heartbreak is palpable, the bitter pain of love clearly conveyed through these words. Well-written so you feel every bit of regret and every hint of hope. A wonderful conclusion to the Barry sisters, all happily settled in love.

I have really enjoyed this series about the trials tribulations that happen to the Devereaux triplets. Thank goodness Cousin Cass has come into their lives to guide them amongst the ton. Brighton is a wonderful place to enjoy the ton during the summer and so far, two of the three sisters have found husbands. That is why Laurel feels that she has been overlooked. She is the oldest and left home alone with her cousin. It really is no fun wading through the waters by yourself. I enjoyed the concept of her trying to find a soul mate and coming to realize that she could put the pieces of all her sister's lives in order. Wonderful series that I enjoyed.

Lady, No More by Cerise Deland is number three in the Naughty Ladies series. This is an entertaining second chance romance featuring Laurel and Hadley Sherborne. She had loved him but after declaring for her and seducing her, he left and she had not heard from him since. Thank goodness her cousin Cass had appeared to help after her grandfather had died. She had loved him but he was a rogue of the first order, being an art thief and fence. There were tons of paintings and other forms of art hidden in his house and in a warehouse by the river. Some his, some not. Some in saleable condition, some not. Now her sisters were married and she was determined to marry. She had had her taste of love and didn’t expect that again. Maybe for the best. A pleasant, amiable man would suit. Then Sherborne, Viscount Grey reappeared. Why? What did he want?

Laurel had her secrets. Grey didn’t realize he had any. He thought the letters he had written her explained everything. But, she hadn’t gotten them. Laurel was a good character, well-written and very human. She had taken care of her sisters and herself as well as she was able. Grey was a good man, had left her to take care of his family, in the wake of a useless father. That father had managed to wreak havoc and it had taken a while to repair the damage. He was an honorable man. After two years he had appeared to reclaim what was his. Another well-written character. The reader (knowing what would happen) cheered both of the on the entire book. It was a very entertaining story with twists and turns. A good read.

Second-Chance, Regency Romance

She loved, once, and she trusted him, but he abandoned her. How could she trust him again? It turned out, there were secrets and hidden truths. Would Laurel give Hadley a second chance? He would have to convince her, and he would have to be persistent. Why did Hadley leave when he loved Laurel, and what would convince Laurel to give him a second chance? If you like steamy, second chance, Regency romance, you might enjoy this story.

Oh, the mischief that Cerise DeLand gets her Irish lasses in! After a failed love affair, the last of our triplets has determined she will never love again and will happily (famous last words) remain a spinster. Laurel Devereaux is more determined than ever to keep to that plan when the man who broke her heart re-enters her life, but he is just as determined to make her realize that he never gave up on her. Ms. DeLand puts this love torn couple through the wringer as they make their way make together and I absolutely loved it!

I received a copy of this from NetGalley and this is my freely given opinion.

I think this is my favourite of the three Naughty Ladies books. This is the story of Laurel Deveraux and Hadley, Viscount Grey. It was implied that he and Laurel had a relationship and he broke off their engagement, in the previous stories, breaking her heart and her trust. This is the story of what happened and his attempt to make up for the past and win her back.

Laurel had been a more free spirited and frolicsome young lady when the two of them met and fell madly in love. But just when they are in the midst of their passionate love affair, anticipating being married, it turns out that Hadley has to break his engagement to Laurel and leave Ireland because his father had already contracted a betrothal for him with the father of another woman, and is not willing to breech that contract. Laurel is left broken hearted and broken in spirit.

She joins her sister on the husband hunt in Brighton, but a logical plan to find a mate for friendship and security, rather than passionate love, like she had and lost in the past, since that could not be trusted. But Hadley is in Brighton too, now free to try to win Laurel back, as he did love her and regretted losing her.

I am a sucker for stories of heart ache and angst I guess, because I was intrigued by the hints of Laurel and Hadley's stories in the first two books and was looking forward to finding out what the deal was with them. I found this quite satisfying to the curious cat in me because it gave the back story, and then the current story of his attempts to regain her trust and love, and her conflict in her attraction and residual love for him, versus trusting him after how he broke her heart. I am glad to see that he was not arrogant in his assumption that he could win her back, nor manipulative considering her previous love affair with him, but also her family circumstances with the shifty fencing grandfather and the rather iffy will. He set the right tone in earnestness I thought.

3.75 stars out of 5.

This was my first book from Cerise Deland and the first time I'd encountered her Naughty Ladies series. The series focuses on the three Devereaux sisters as they each attempt to find husbands during the social season in Brighton. This is the third book in the series, focusing on the eldest of the triplets and last to get married, Laurel. The book dives right into the story, with minimal rehashing of the previous books. Usually, I would enjoy this lack of summary, but having not read the two books that came before this one, I was a bit lost. If you're interested in this book, I'd recommend reading the proceeding books in the series first.

What I Liked:

- This was a fun, fast read. Deland did not try to fluff up the length of this story, which I appreciate. I felt that the number of pages was adequate for the story being told. If this were a standalone, more background could have been added, but as a part of a series it is just fine.

- There is a lot of historical detail that I appreciated. I am by no means an expert in any era of history, but this at least felt more accurate than many other romance books I've read. There was a lot of attention to the customs and clothing of the time. The dialogue also felt "of the time" so to speak.

- The spice! This book had some wonderful (and sometimes unexpected) spicy moments that were quite fun. Though there was some writing in these scenes that felt a little stuffy or awkward to me, the scenes themselves were overall enjoyable.

- The chemistry between Laurel and Hadley. Their relationship was founded on common interests and a genuine connection. Not only was it clear they were both physically attracted to each other, but their personalities were complimentary. I liked that Deland was able to show this compatibility well in such a short page length.

What I Disliked:

- Hadley was a confusing character for me. At times he was quite dashing, charming, and agreeable. Then his mood would switch suddenly. Laurel often described him as displaying anger or frustration in situations that didn't make sense to me. His anger never manifested in any bad actions, but he just felt very hot-and-cold.

- Laurel's change of heart also felt strange to me. Information is revealed to give her more context about Hadley's actions and I enjoy that this does not immediately make her change her mind in regards to him. However, the two "pivotal" moments that seem to cement her decision just did not feel convincing. One of them occurs primarily off page, leaving the reader to fill in what Laurel was thinking and feeling in that moment. Seeing this scene could have made the next moment more convincing. The second moment simply felt very run-of-the-mill and anti-climactic. There was a delay been the first and second moments that made her sudden decision to pursue Hadley after the second moment feel odd.

Overall, this was a fun little read and I would pick up another book by Deland gladly.

Lady Laurel Devereaux fell hard for Hadley, Viscount Grey after a magical night of piano music. Laurel was devestated when Hadley broke their engagement to return to his estate, supposedly to marry a young lady his father had betrothed him to without first telling Hadley.
It has been two years and Hadley has come to Brighton to see if a second chance is possible with Laurel.
I enjoyed the characters and Hadley was very attentive to Laurel. I was surprised Laurel did not immediately demand an explanation, but realized that may be how Laurel responded to seeing Hadley in her life again.
I would highly recommend this sweet romance.

A second chance story of a jilted lady and a Viscount who had to save his estate. The lady refuses to listen to Viscount's excuses of why he had to leave her. The Viscount always loved her and meant to come back after he straightened out the mess his father made of the estate, and the agreement of the betrothal to a woman whom he thought of as a sister. Sometimes, you have to start at the beginning again, so that you can explain what was in the past. The story is an amusing read with some witticism. Personally, I wouldn't have cut him when he reappeared. I would have demanded answers, then decided whether to cut or forgive him. I guess ladies don't do that or authors like writing their women wish-washy or weak-willed. I know Laurel was trying to protect her heart, but how can you protect your heart if you don't know the full truth?

Laurel and Hadley are my historical romance dream couple. I just loved this story so much. I honestly got lost into the whole romance of the story. I enjoyed that the story was precise and focused on the point to the story. I really enjoyed reading the parts where Hadley worked on finding ways to win back the love of his life. Laurel is a smart woman who didn’t walk around with her head in the cloud. I like how she asked questions to get to the answers that she felt were owed and due to her.

Lady Laurel, one of the Devereaux triplets, has had her heart broken and refuses to allow Viscount Grey to enter her orbit again. Unfortunately, the family owes him a debt and she finds it impossible to avoid him altogether. Worse still, the feelings she previously had for him are very much alive, but she determines to ruthlessly squash them. Hadley is very aware of the fact that Laurel's heart had been broken and despite his repeated attempts to explain himself, he discovers that there is more than one force working against the star-crossed couple. Refusing to give up, Hadley pulls every trick out of his bag, but it would seem that his efforts are wasted. Fortunately, when Lauren examines her heart she finds the truth buried deep inside and the novel comes to a happy conclusion. I received a copy of this lighthearted romance as a gift through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Laurel Devereaux, one of the Diamonds from Ireland, doesn't trust Hadley Sherbourne, Viscount Grey, after he broke her heart and their engagement. Separated by his father's manipulation, Grey is back after two years to win Laurel back to be his wife. Wooing her with poems, music, flowers and kisses, it's one step forward and two steps back. Frustrated with his progress, should he give her an ultimatum? More angst than intriguing events or chaos, it's waiting for Laurel to make up her mind. Very interesting eccentric secondary characters.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

She is grateful he helped rescue her sister. She will be polite. Then he can leave, and she will never have to see him again. Laurel was (and is) in love with Grey, but being jilted puts quite a damper on romance. After two years of hearing nothing, he is back in her life. He wants to explain. He wants to win her back. Will he be able to do it? It certainly won’t be easy. This is a delightful second chance story. The characters in this story and the series are charming and engaging. An enjoyable story.
