Thank you NetGalley, Ames Russell and Sara Quessenberry for this copy of Hot Honey Cookbook. I was unaware of hot honey when I requested this cookbook, but now I know how good it is. It is written for AR’s Hot Southern Honey, but I used a local hot honey instead. The book includes lots of great pictures and recipes.
Like the combination of hot and sweet? Hot HoneyCookbook: 60 Recipes to Infuse Sweet Heat into Your Favorite Foods is a great cookbook to add to your recipe shelf. Whenever a company puts out a cookbook, it usually contains especially good recipes, so that the readers will purchase their products over and over. This excellent cookbook is no exception. The recipes vary from breakfasts, appetizers, side dishes, mains, and desserts. And the recipes are mouthwatering – actually recipes that people will want to prepare. There is also interesting information on the history of AR Hot Honey.
The recipes are written in the traditional manner, so they can easily be followed by beginning to advanced cooks. They call for ingredients that are easy to find, including the AR Hot Honey which is available online if it isn’t found at your local grocery store.
There is a beautiful photograph of every recipe, making it difficult to decide which recipe to make next. Every time readers peruse this cookbook, they will find new dishes to add to their queue.
All told, this is a fun cookbook with plenty of southern and mainstream recipes that everyone will love. The recipes work well, and have obviously been tested before being published.
Special thanks to NetGalley for supplying a review copy of this book.
Thank you to Net Galley and the Publisher for the opportunity to review this book by sending me an advanced reader copy.
The things I liked, the book has a very nice layout and there are plenty of lovely color photos of the finished dishes, and the instructions are clear and well written. Sadly thats about it.
The whole book is basically one using the brand of Hot Honey the author sells, just marketing for the honey.
The recipes aren't anything original, in fact many of them are just your normal American recipes just using his hot honey.
Hot Honey Cookbook is short and sweet! I honestly love honey so I wish there were more recipes but the book is excellent with easy to follow recipes and instructions.
Full disclosure I’d eat a green bean if it had hot honey on it. And I despise green beans. When I saw this cookbook I knew it was for me. There are so many different uses for hot honey that I never even thought of!! This cookbook was delightful. I do wish there were a few more pictures. The ones included are gorgeous.
A great collection of Southern dishes elevated with spicy honey. Measurements are by volume and only listed in imperial units. Standout recipes include biscuits and a glazed tofu. An irritating amount of the work of each recipe is hidden in the ingredients list - read carefully before embarking.
The Hot Honey Cookbook has so many yummy recipes, I'm more than a little bummed that I don't yet have availability to the product.
I love honey-infused all-the-things and I am always looking for more recipes to add to my weeknight repertoire, so it was really a no-brainer to snap up this cookbook.
The book covers breakfast, appetizers, sides, mains, desserts, and cocktails. Although I am gluten-free and would be exempt from many of the dishes, it is easy to extrapolate how to use the hot honey in the recipes or to switch out some gluten produced for non-versions.
This book honestly had so many great recipes and the spin-off of what you could do to modify certain fruits (etc...) for another has the potential for so many more recipes than just the 60 provided. The pictures were clear and made my tummy rumble. The instructions were concise and even the ingredients were pretty easily attained at your local grocery store.
I am definitely adding this to my paper-copy book list for Christmas.

Delightful book,,, hot honey can now be seen on shelves in stores so this book definitely gives you an idea on how to use it. I can’t eat spicy but I love recipes made with honey. I don’t think the authors will mind if you use regular honey either. A delicious cookbook for incorporating honey! Five stars! I love it!
HOT HONEY COOKBOOK: 60 Recipes to Infuse Sweet Heat into Your Favorite Foods.

I bought the cookbook made of paper and ink because there are many mouthwatering and delicious sounding recipes. I initially viewed this on my phone and the photographs of most all of the recipes are delectable. I wanted a cookbook hardcover that would keep the photos and it is a bit confusing on my phone to match up most of the photos with all of the recipes. I need to get an iPad because my computer isn't compatible to the Net Galley Shelf Application.
The format of this cookbook is easily arranged into six categories. They are 1. Breakfast. 2. Appetizers 3. Sides 4. Mains 5. Desserts 6. Cocktails.
There are quite a few recipes that I want to try. I have always loved honey so I think adding a kick with the Mild Hot Honey is what I will try before getting the Hotter Honey which the owner of the Hot Honey said can be purchased easily.
There are so many to try--but for the sake of this review I will name only some. I had my kitchen remodeled three years ago and my youngest son and I threw out everything. I still need to restock some basic things that most people already have.
In the "Breakfast" Section: I would like to try Everything Biscuits, Cornmeal Blueberry Brown Butter Muffins, Bourbon Pecan Coffee Cake, Yogurt with Almond Clusters and Blueberry Compote, and Toast with Fresh Ricotta and Strawberries.
In the "Appetizers" Section: I would like to try the Corn Fritters with Avocado and Hot Honey, Whipped Feta Dip, Ricotta and Peach Crostini with Hot Honey and Spicy Candied Pecans.
In the "Mains" Section: I would like to try Smokey Barbecue Ribs, Hot Honey Rosemary Chicken under a Brick, Sausage and Pepper Pizza, Broiled Barbecue Salmon with Dill Cucumbers, Grilled Chipotle Chicken Cobb Salad with Candied Bacon.
In the "Sides" Section: I would like to try the Hot Honey and Cumin-Roasted Carrots, Charred Hot Honey Corn, Cornbread with Hot Honey Butter and the Hot Honey Focaccia.
In the "Desserts" Section: I would like to try Grilled Pineapple and Coconut Sorbet with Lime, Hot Honey S'more Brownies, Almond Bars, Caramel Apples with Vanilla Ice cream and the Peach Cake.
With many fresh fruits and Vegetables in season I will get to trying out those first as where I live there are really only two months of Summer. There is a fruit orchard nearby that allows me to pick two kinds of peaches from the trees and Blueberries and other fresh fruit. As you can see with all of the many recipes, I want to try that this Cookbook has already paid for itself. There is also a Kindle version, but I love the colorful photographs so I splurged and got the hardcover Edition. I will come back with updates on which everyone loved and also my favorites. There are a lot I didn't list with 60 recipes to choose from.
A Huge Thank you to Good Read's friend, Laceey, whose review you should look at because she has already tried some of these recipes and they are a big hit with her and her family.
Publication Date: August 2, 2022. Available Now!

Let me start by saying that from cover had me salivating. What is there not to love about chicken wings?! or honey?! The book synopsis starts by saying "Hot honey elevates the flavor palate of any meal with its perfect union of sweet and spicy" this is something that really peaks my interest as I love the mix of flavours.
The cookbook has 60 recipes which includes both different foods and drinks and shows how versatile an ingredient it can be.
I love to cook and have try new ideas. The images in this book were great and shown alongside step by step methods of the recipe. Making it very simple and easy to follow. I have to say everything looks and sounds amazing. So far the Korean-Style Chicken Wings have been my favourites but I excited to try out some more recipes in the book.
This extended advert for a specific brand of “hot honey” – squeezy honey with chilli flakes in, basically – is at least a decent, attractive and sensible one. And lots of people would have the nous to adapt the recipes to just include honey, or to have some kicking sprinkles as well, meaning the proprietary brand (probably US-exclusive, anyway) is not needed at all. Things can be adapted the other way as well, of course – your favourite honey roast carrots timings can be used instead of those here if you want to level up. This is funky home fare, from breakfasts to pork medallions to your own blue cheese butter ready for a nice steak night in. It’s balanced, with salads, and cocktails at the end, so there is something for everyone – and even more so, of course, if they’re buying into the brand. Less than half the dishes have photos, but at least you get less of the verbiage once you skipped the article from our product creator.
My tummy rumbled as I paged through the 60 delicious recipes in the Hot Honey Cookbook. Yum! The recipes sound amazing and the photos were gorgeous and now I have plenty of wonderful new ideas for sweet hot scrumptious meals. Highly recommended!
I had never heard of ‘hot honey’ so I was intrigued to see what it was and how it is used, so I really enjoyed reading the background and then subsequently the recipes.
Hot honey isn’t a product that I have ever seen in the UK, but I’m pretty sure you could use ordinary honey and add chilli flakes/powder to your taste in the recipes instead.
There are lots of fabulous sounding recipes in this book, and I would definitely like to try some of them out.
A great recipe book that has something a bit different to the others I have read.
My thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and the author for allowing me to read this book in return for an honest review.
Hot Honey Cookbook: 60 Recipes to Infuse Sweet Heat into Your Favorite Foods by Ames Russell and Sara Quessenberry is currently scheduled for release on August 2 2022. The condiment that’s getting all the buzz these days, hot honey, can enhance the flavor of any meal, and no one knows this better than Ames Russell, the founder of AR’s Southern Hot Honey. From drizzling to incorporating hot honey into marinades, glazes, dressings, sauces, and cake batters, the 60 mouthwatering recipes in Hot Honey Cookbook—inspired by Southern, Asian, and Latin flavors—are guaranteed to bring the sweet heat all day long, from breakfast to cocktails. Some of the recipes include: Bourbon Pecan Coffee Cake, Korean-Style Chicken Wings, Smoky Barbecue Ribs, Roasted Sweet Potato and Corn Tacos, Shrimp and Grits, Grilled Chipotle Chicken Cobb Salad, Baked Beans, and Strawberry-Rhubarb Cobbler. With Hot Honey Cookbook showing all the ways you can enjoy this versatile condiment, you’ll only need to decide whether to choose mild or hot, or a little or a lot.
Hot Honey Cookbook is coming out at the perfect time for me. I just had some timing changes and am back to being the main cook for the family, so trying new recipes and ingredients is on my to do list. I have always loved using chili and honey together, searching for that perfect balance of sweet heat, but if someone will make that balance for me and then suggest recipes to try it in, well I am all for it. I had never bought Hot Honey before, just adjusted a combinations of the flavors for my own cooking needs, but now I am pretty excited to give it a try. I thought the recipes were well written and easy to follow, organized in sensible groupings. Some of the recipes were very much not for me, but others had me shopping my grocery app and updating this weeks shopping list. I think there is a little something here for everyone that likes sweet heat.
🍯🔥
I discovered hot honey a couple years back. Loved it, but I only had one recipe for it - grilled salmon. A recipe we still use today.
But when I saw this book, it was my opportunity to discover where else I can use this little known, spicy delight!
Last night I made Hot Honey Rosemary Chicken under a Brick. Oh my gosh, absolutely delicious! I’ve made brick chicken in the past. But the drizzle of honey at the end absolutely put this dish over-the-top!! I will definitely be making this one again… or as we say in my house, "this recipe goes in the rotation!"
Next up is Chicken and Cabbage Salad with Ginger Dressing and Crispy Wontons. Can’t wait!
Also on my list to try:
🔹spicy Korean style chicken wings
🔹Hot honey and cumin roasted carrots
🔹sweet heat baked beans
The recipes are easy to follow and so far the results have been more than what I hoped for.
The pictures are all mouthwatering and the results look exactly like the pictures!

This is a lovely cookbook with easy to follow recipes for a hot honey that the author sells. I didn't try any of the recipes but most of them sounds delicious

This book gets 2 stars because it is basically a marketing tool for the brand of Hot Honey the author sells. Kudos to him for his success with his Hot Honey but as far as the cookbook, I'd have to say save yourself the money since the secret to these recipes is...you may guess what I'm about to say...add X tablespoons of author's hot honey to the recipe.
The book has a very nice layout and there are plenty of lovely color photos of the finished dishes, and the instructions are clear and well written. However the recipes themselves are run of the mill southern-inspired recipes with some amount of hot honey added in.
Oddly, or I suppose not since it would seemingly defeat the purpose of the book, there are no recipes for making hot honey. Had the author included a recipe for hot honey, I'd probably have given the book 3 stars.
I bought hot honey for charcuterie and was delightfully surprised to find a cookbook devoted to it! It definitely starts off strong with Nashville fried chicken breakfast tacos and biscuits. I was thoroughly surprised when I saw a recipes for Bourbon Pecan coffee cake. Overall the cookbook had beautiful images and innovative recipes that covers a wide range of foods. I will for sure try to make Hot Honey and Cumin-Roasted Carrots!
This was a delightful little cookbook. There are several recipes I will be trying like the everything biscuits. It really made me think about different ways I can incorporate hot honey into my southern cooking.
Disappointing.
This is essentially about product placement for a honey hot sauce.
Here's a generic recipie - put this sauce on it.
