Thanks to NetGalley and Simon & Schuster Audio for the ALC of this audiobook.

There are so many cults, and if you can find me one that isn’t just about a white man who wants to have sex with and power over a bunch of women, then I’m in! If you’re looking for a background and stories from many different cults, this is a great resource. I’ve found that most cult books either analyze their patterns or cover a specific cult. I enjoyed that this book talked about many different cults.

I love this podcast and the book has compiled and dug a little deeper on some of the cults they cover in the podcast, and I found it very interesting. It’s available now wherever you get your books.

This one was just okay. If you like their podcast you may enjoy this book but honestly it was nothing ground breaking or new. I read another cult book recently (Cultish) and was given the same information about the same cults. While this one is easier to access since it written more conversationally and less like research. I didn’t learn about any cults I hadn’t already heard of which I was disappointed in. A lot of this seemed like they were just scratching the same surface as has been done previously. There is nothing bad or off putting about this book just not new info.
