I'm always a fan of Sarah Morgan and especially enjoy her Christmas books. This one was no exception - I thought it was a great read!
It's about a woman named Lucy who is facing Christmas alone as well as the prospect of losing her job. She has plans to try to land a big business deal with Ross Miller. She shows up at the Miller family home, a little before the holidays, hoping to deliver her business proposal personally. However, she arrived just in time for a huge snow storm to hit, leaving her stranded with the whole Miller family.
And speaking of the Miller family, they had their own issues. Glenda, the mother, just wanted everything to be perfect when her now grown children came home for Christmas. And Ross and his two sisters have secrets that they want to keep from their parents. They were just trying to get through the holidays, now with Lucy as an added guest.
I really liked the setting of a big family home in the middle of a winter wonderland of snow. I loved all of the family dynamics - the complicated relationships as well as the love that ultimately bonded the family together. It took place in the days leading up to Christmas, which I always like. The secondary characters were great and once again, there was an adorable dog that got my attention! Overall, a great holiday read to add to your lists!
Escape to the Highlands this Christmas with the queen of festive fiction - and this truly is an escape! Sarah Morgan never disappoints, her books are truly heart-warming, thought provoking, and festive (or summery!) in equal measures.

Ross, Alice, and Clemmie Miller all have one thing in common despite their vast differences as siblings - it's to help one another this Christmas to avoid the hard hitting questions that their family will ask. Ross Miller, while very successful, isn't married, much to his family's dismay. Alice is bringing home a boyfriend for this first time, and Clemmie is hiding a major life-altering secret. Meanwhile Lucy Clarke is finishing up her work for the holiday season, but really needs this last minute business deal with Ross Miller to secure her employment. She has to delivery the business proposal to his family's home and then leave. However, when Lucy arrives, Ross isn't there yet, and his family mistake him for his new secretive girlfriend he is supposed to have, according to his sisters. Before Lucy knows it, she is involved in this "lie" and a snowstorm is coming straight for the Miller household in the Scottish Highlands. This will most certainly be a memorable Christmas. Sarah Morgan's Snowed in for Christmas is a sweet family drama that will warm your heart for the holiday season.
All three Miller siblings were actually enjoyable, which can be difficult when sharing the various points of view in a novel, but Morgan did a good job with it in Snowed in for Christmas. I was equally interested in each sibling's story, including Lucy's awkward entrance into the Miller's family Christmas. Ross is your typical successful businessman, overly concerned with work, and Alice is a bit anxious to bring home her new boyfriend. Her boyfriend, a surgeon, wants to settle down and get married and Alice isn't sure what she wants, so this only complicates things further. Then there's Clemmie who is hiding a major secret from her family and on top of it, she wants to leave London and her job and return home to Scotland. The Miller family will have a house full of people (and drama!) this holiday season and on top of this already stressful family dynamic is Lucy's surprise entrance.
Poor Lucy goes to the Miller's family remote house in the Highlands to deliver a very important business deal. Not only is Ross not there yet, the family mistake him as Ross's new girlfriend that the sisters casually mentioned. While there, Lucy tries to dig herself out of this hole, but meanwhile, she realizes how much she misses a family Christmas and especially her grandmother whom she was very close with. Just as Lucy tries to leave, an accident happens, which pretty much forces her to stay at the Miller's. Also, Nana Jean, is an absolute delight who stole every scene she was in. She says what she wants (usually the awkward truth), does what she wants, and I was here for it. She had me laughing out loud, especially with her take on some of the hilarious antics that ensue.
The setting of the Scottish Highlands in Snowed in for Christmas made this holiday tale extra Christmas-y. The remote setting, the incoming snowstorm, the adorable Scottish town, and the cozy house only accessible by a rickety bridge definitely added to the novel's holiday charm.
So, if you enjoy holiday reads that are filled with family drama in the vein of Hilderbrand's Winter Street, look no further. Let me know if you a fan of Sarah Morgan and if you have you read Snowed in for Christmas. Is it on your TBR list? Let me know in the comments below.
Sarah Morgan has quickly become a holiday favorite for me, so I was really excited to read Snowed in for Christmas - and my excitement was totally justified! This book exceeded all my expectations for comedy, romance, and holiday vibes. You could just FEEL the huge family Christmas vibes!
Lucy is trying to save the company she works for and decides to deliver a pitch wrapped as a present to the family home of Ross Miller in Scotland. Ross and his siblings are just trying to survive a family Christmas and come up with schemes to avoid questions from their parents. Unfortunately for Lucy and Ross their parents mistake Lucy for Ross's girlfriend and a snowstorm makes travel impossible. Ross and Lucy are thrown together by the snow storm. What they discovers surprises them.
I always look forward to Morgan’s annual Christmas book. I am very late reading this one but it’s very cold right now so it put me in a better frame of mind to get into, the book.
It took me quite a while to catch onto the rhythm of the story. Things improved when everyone descended upon Miller Lodge for the holidays and got snowed in. It forced Lucy to pitch a proposal to Ross. It forced Clemmie to come clean with her big secret, at least one of them. It forced Alice to be very honest with Nico (who I lusted after). It also made Douglas and Glenda take a hard look at their lives.
My favorite was Nana Jean. I liked her pithy comments, fact of the matter outlook and Sage insight. Wisdom does come with age so her grandkids should listen to her more.
It’s a good holiday, lose yourself in the story kind of book.
I loved, loved, loved this book! I have read quite a few Sarah Morgan books but this one has been my favourite so far. It is definitely in my top books for 2022!. This book made me laugh out loud many times while at the same time encompassed all of the holiday feels that you want. The ending was poignant enough to bring tears to my eyes. What I like about Ms. Morgan's books is that the families are not sweetly sick perfect families. They have their struggles with outside influences and each other but always at the base is their is deep abiding love. I loved every character in this book and what each of their personalities bring to the story. That being said, I think my favourite is Nanna Jean, her wit and wisdom are epic! Pick this book up, I guarantee you will not be disappointed!!
Sarah Morgan is an auto buy for me and this Chriatmas themed novel did not disappoint A warm and witty look at romance during the holidays. Everything a holiday romance should be!
I really love Sarah Morgan’s books especially those centered around the holidays. Snowed in for Christmas is both a family holiday story as well as three short romances. It gives you all the warm fuzzy vibes of the season combined with the excellent dialogues, funny and poignant plot and extremely lovable characters ( I heart you Nana Jean!)
Seriously good! This book was a fantastic romantic comedy, made even better with the holiday spin. I loved it!
Pour yourself a hot cup of cocoa, tea or coffee and cuddle in for hours of laughter, tears and holiday fun! Families are all individually unique and there are times that you don't want your family dynamic exposed to the world and times where you have no choice! Three siblings on the cusp of life changing decisions and the weight of parental and grandmotherly approval and potential disapproval are intertwined during the Christmas season. As each sibling tries to hide their own secrets while also trying to help their siblings out leads to misunderstandings and identity confusions when a stranger gets thrown into the mix and stranded among them during a winter storm. If you don't fall in love with this book, then your heart is made of stone and Santa is bringing you nothing more than a lump of coal for Christmas! Hallmark, if you are reading then this is your next holiday movie! It would be an absolute hit! I don't typically give lighthearted romance stories 5 stars as they always end in the happily ever after that you all expect, this one was an exceptionally well written version and as such deserves the reward! I can't wait to investigate and find other stories by this author!!
This is not the first Sarah Morgan book I've read, and it certainly won't be the last. She is great at setting the Christmas mood, and her books are well written, with excellent character development.
I recommend this one if you are ready for a lovely Christmas story. 🎄🎄🎄
This is a Lovely example of holiday feel good books. The Miller family will be together for their tradition celebration at the family lodge in the remote Highlands. But before the three adult children return to the family abode they confer to discuss how to deflect parental curiosity and expectations. Meanwhile. Lucy, a social marketing exec with no family swings by to drop off a business proposal. A snow storm and confusion ensues. Sarah Morgan does a wonderful job with characters and settings. I especially loved Nanna Jean.
Thanks to NetGally for a review copy on this title.
I loved the setting and the family characters in this one! Each side plot was relatable and fit well in the family dynamic. But….the dialogue. It was SO over done. Both inner and outer just dragged on….and on. I found myself losing interest and started skimming. It could use a good edit and then it would be a 4 star read for me. It was festive and full of family fun! I loved Nanna Jean and her witty comments.
Snowed in for Christmas
Sarah Morgan
There’s nothing that says it’s the holidays like a Sarah Morgan Christmas tale and this year is no different, Snowed in for Christmas gives readers a fabulous story, unforgettable characters, family drama, romance, a home really decked out for the holidays and some laugh out loud humor. She will draw her audience from the very beginning with a fantastic plot, flowing narrative, fabulous backdrops and of course the cursed Christmas blizzard that turns out to be a blessing in disguise. So many characters stand out in this novel for so many different reasons it’s hard to pick just one. Nanna Jean is a hoot, a comedienne without trying, outspoken and sincere, Glenda is a great mom, Douglass is the typical clueless dad, Clemmie is a heart-warmer, Alice and Ross are workaholics for different reasons and Lucy needs a Christmas miracle. Whether It’s your first Christmas novel or the last of this season don’t miss out on Sarah’s 2022 holiday tale.
Lucy Clarke hasn’t liked Christmas since she lost her beloved grandmother two years ago and now this year the company she works for and loves is in trouble. So what she would love to do is deliver a signed contract for the highly profitable Miller Active to her boss. And since she’ll be on Scotland on other business she’s going to deliver a holiday wrapped proposal off at his family home and hopefully he’ll be intrigued enough to look it over.
The Miller siblings are heading home for Christmas but this year they have made a pact to avoid their parents and grandmother prying into their lives especially this year when they have so much to hide.
Dr. Alice Miller is comfortable in the ER where she confident and able but when her longtime boyfriend pops the question she’s a fish out of a water about what to say.
It should be enough that Ross Miller runs an uber successful activewear business, but no his father makes him feel guilty for not taking over the family’s Shortbread business.
Clemmie Miller has made some major decisions she’s quit her nanny job and is moving home permanently and since the man of her dreams only wants to be friends she’s decided it’s time to go to a sperm bank to have a baby.
This is a Christmas tale of delight. Lucy Clarke works for a London-based marketing agency that feels more like a family than an employer. Unfortunately, the marketing agency is going through a rough time financially with the potential of layoffs looming. Lucy decides to make a bold pitch for a major account called Miller Active, which is a sportswear company led by CEO Ross Miller. Lucy decides to personally drop off her wrapped proposal to Ross' family home in Glen Lodge in the Scottish Highlands. Meanwhile, the Miller siblings (Ross, Alice and Clemmie) meet to discuss and plan their visit home for the holidays and how to avoid their mother and grandmother Nanna Jean from meddling in their personal lives. They create a fictional girlfriend for Ross named Lucy. Alice neglects to mention that her boyfriend Nico has asked her to marry him. Clemmie is getting ready to move back home and start a family, potentially by herself. Needless to say, best laid plans often go awry. When Lucy arrives at the Miller home, she is mistaken for Ross' fictional girlfriend, which combined with a snowstorm that prevents her from returning to London, sets off a chain of events which culminates in her becoming part of a family celebration full of tradition. This novel broaches topics such as grief, loyalty, friendship, parental expectations and relationships. This was a wonderful read with well-developed characters. I look forward to reading more by Sarah Morgan.
This book was a bit different than I was expecting. Based on the description, I thought this story would focus on Lucy being stuck with the Miller family and the resulting relationship that begins with Ross. While that was a portion of the story, there was also a large focus on Ross's other siblings and their own romantic relationships as well. While I loved the development of all three storylines, it felt like a lot for one book. The switch between multiple narrators took me out of the story from time to time. I almost wish that this had been broken up into three separate books, so that I could get a deeper look at each sibling's relationship and character growth. Regardless of that, I did enjoy the holiday theme and it was a nice, quick read.
Brilliant. This is the word I would use if I only could use one word. I loved everything about this book. The setting, the season, the people. This was both a women's fiction novel and a romance, I love when both happens at the same time. A story of new friendships and old. A story of family relationships. There is a dog and lots of snow. And a quirky grandmother. It's one of my favorites this year!
Are you ready for a Christmas trip to Scotland? Then this book might be for you. In order to save the marketing company for which she works, Lucy travels to Scotland right before Christmas for a photo shoot and also to drop off a proposal in the hopes of landing a large account for the company. As a Storm Scrooge sails into Scotland, along with family dramas and mix-ups, Lucy winds up staying with the Miller family for Christmas. Lucy gets more than she bargained for as she becomes involved in the family dramas of the Millers and seeks her own resolution, romance, and a Happy Christmas.
Once I started this book, I could not stop reading. I felt as if I was part of the Christmas family events and right there in Scotland, snowed in with Lucy and her new family. The characters were well-developed and spirited, and the setting evokes the feeling of Christmas holidays in Scotland. The ending wraps things up nicely, but in the process leads the readers through twists, turns, and tears. There are a few adult intimate scenes that are well integrated with the plot and characters.
I received this novel from the publisher and from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed here are entirely my own.
Snowed In for Christmas by Sarah Morgan is a wonderful Christmas contemporary romance that is full of family mayhem and memories. The story in Snowed In for Christmas is one that is told by changing the point of view between the various characters to show all sides.
It is almost Christmas and the Miller family is holding their big holiday get together with the three adult children coming home to their parents home to celebrate. with all three siblings, Ross, Alice, and Clemmie living in London they do get together quite often and during one of their dinners before returning home they contemplate giving Ross a pretend girlfriend to please their mother who worries of his dating life.
Lucy Clarke is very good at her job in marketing, so good in fact that she was featured in a magazine article, the very same article that the Miller siblings plucked the name of Ross’ pretend girlfriend. Little do they all know that pretend woman plucked from the pages of a magazine will show up at the family home looking to join Ross in a business venture surprising everyone for the holiday.
When I first saw Snowed In for Christmas by Sarah Morgan I knew that I just had to read it having loved several other books I had read from the author before. Sure enough once I picked this one up I fell right into the snowy Christmas magic that came alive from the pages. I loved that this one featured not only the romance but the whole family and all of what came from each of their different paths in life. Definitely one that kept the pages turning right until the end.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.
