This book was interesting because it followed multiple family members' stories of trying to get to Christmas together via road trip. The book was well written and enjoyable, but the ending just seemed to happen to quickly.

Also, stop calling people in their 40s old, because they just aren't.

This was a heartwarming and festive novel that captures the spirit of the holiday season. The story follows a group of individuals whose lives intersect in a small town as they navigate personal struggles and find unexpected joy during the Christmas season. Roberts' writing is charming and filled with seasonal cheer, blending romance, family, and community in a feel-good narrative. The book's strength lies in its endearing characters and its ability to convey the warmth and magic of Christmas. A delightful read for anyone seeking a cozy and uplifting holiday story.

I do love Sheila’s Christmas books but this one fell a tad flat. The characters weren’t my favorite and the sisters were just so whiny. I did love the Grandma and Grandpa though!

There’s some romance with a lot of family drama mixed in. I will still continue to read her holiday novels for sure!

I have had this book on my kindle since last year (maybe earlier), but I finally started to read it over Thanksgiving.

The book started off at thanksgiving and then carried on through the days leading up to Christmas, so it made this the perfect holiday read.

I am usually a fan of Sheila Roberts books, but especially her Christmas ones. The Road to Christmas encompasses three generations and their trek from the west coast to Idaho to all be together for Christmas.

Each pair goes through some road blocks along the way. But I found myself tied to the pages to see what was going to happen next. I really enjoyed this holiday story!

Thank you Mira and Netgalley for this copy to read and review.

Roberts' layered, multi-generational tale is a heartwarming story of second chances and forgiveness, set on three separate drives to the quintessential family Christmas. The magic and hope of Christmas (and some family drama, of course) draw these family members together through turbulent travel adventures, humor, and Christmas merriment.

Sheila Roberts is a new to me author.

I love multigenerational plots, especially those set at Christmas.

Julia and her new born baby and her parents Max and Michelle are the characters in the book.

There are different themes: relationship problems, meeting again on a special occasion, and there's a festive, cozy atmosphere that I really liked. Plus plenty of food.

The writing is tight and quickly paced and I was eager to find out how the plot would unfold.

I did wonder what was in Julia's old room. There was a kind of locked room mystery feel around why the room was not used.

Thanks to Sheila Roberts and MIRA Books for my eARC in exchange for an honest and voluntary review.

3-3.5 stars

Sheila is one of my favorites, especially when it comes to her Christmas books. I look forward to them each and every year.

This story takes us on a journey with Three generations, on a road trip to spend the holidays Michelle and Max's daughter Julia and her new born baby.

Along the way, each set of travelers experience their own internal journey as they come across sets of circumstances! Three different adventures, and one memorable family Christmas!

Highly suggest that you dive into each one of Sheila's books. Enjoy!

Nothing brightens up the holiday season like a new Sheila Roberts novel and this much-loved women’s fiction author is back with a new book that is simply fabulous: The Road to Christmas.

The holidays might be fast approaching, but Michelle and Max are feeling far from festive. Their marriage has hit the wall and their relationship seems to have gone beyond the point of no return. With even divorce being mooted, the last thing Michelle and Max feel like doing is celebrating, but with their youngest daughter Julia inviting them over to her house in Idaho, they just have to grin and bear it – and try not to murder one another while sharing the guest room!

Their other daughters Audrey and Shyla are also invited and they’ve plans to find a sexy rancher for single Audrey along the way. However, finding themselves stranded on a ranch while driving to Julia’s wasn’t part of the plan! What are they going to do now? Their grandparents Warren and Hazel are also invited and although they’ve the shortest drive over, Hazel cannot help but feel apprehensive. But is she just worrying too much? Or are she and Warren going to have an adventure they will never forget?

These three sets of travelers are certainly going to have quite an eventful journey on their way to Idaho which will culminate in a holiday they will always remember!

Sheila Roberts is at her absolute best with The Road to Christmas. Warm-hearted, witty and so enjoyable readers will not be able to put this book down, The Road to Christmas is a funny, emotional and sparkling tale about family, second chances and fighting for what you really want that delivers on all counts.

Sheila Roberts can make her readers laugh and cry often on the same page and she has once again penned an absolute winner with The Road to Christmas.

I started this book and found that I really could not connect with it. I feel like it may have been one of those “right book wrong time” situations where it wasn’t what I needed, but I chose to put it down. Therefore, I cannot give a true star rating.

This is the if it can go wrong this Christmas it did! A family traveling from three different directions and they all had their own trial and tribulations trying to get to Julia's new house in Idaho. Now think about it Idaho for Christmas yes there will be snow so that has to mean there will be travel problems. Michelle and Max known as mom and dad are going but they are not really happy. They haven't been happy together for years. If they can just get through the holidays then they can proceed with their divorce. Sisters Audrey and Shyla fuss and fight along the way mainly because they are like oil and water. But their car problems happened in the perfect town and they met the most hospitable family with two single sons! And then there is Grandma and Grandpa traveling on their own. Grandpa has a health scare that delays them from getting to their holiday. After much difficulty and some adventure they arrive to celebrate a Christmas like none other. Lives were changed on each of their Road to Christmas.

What a perfect Christmas story!

The story is focused on a family all trying to get together for Christmas with each taking a road trip to meet up. Every road trip has their own trials; am I right? It is lighthearted and meaningful depth to the character building and growth throughout which is one of my favorite things an author can do.

I loved this easy read. Sheila Roberts does not disappoint. Although this is my first read by her, I will be returning to her Christmas gems year after year. Thank you @netgalley and @uplitreads for the ARC.

The Road to Christmas is a novel about family, set over the Christmas holiday. Three generations of family all travel to visit each other. You have the parents, the Grandparents and the three grown children. One sister moved away and wants her family to come visit her new home. Her two siblings makes the trek in one car, her Grandparents make the journey in another car and finally her parents, on the brink of divorce, agree to drive together in another car.

Each journey was interesting in its own way. I liked the way everyone eventually got to their destination while encountering bumps along the way. I often enjoy stories about family and this one was good. It was an easy read that flowed nicely and I actually managed to read about 80% of it in one day. It was more about family than Christmas in my opinion. While it took place around the holidays, it was more about the family growing as individuals as well as together. I also thought that the recipes included at the end of the story were fun!

If you're looking for a quick holiday read, this one's good!

What a great holiday family story. This family is in shambles due to health concerns, miscommunication and the failure to forgive. The author takes every character through a virtual road trip and their own life's road trip to come out on the other side. As each character groupling makes their way to a family members home for Christmas, they all face trials and tribulations, however by working together each group finds their way to happiness. This is a great story that holds your interest from start to finish and you find yourself cheering for each of the characters to achieve a happy ending and like all good holiday stories they do!! If you are looking for a good family based holiday read then you should pick this book up!

This is my second by the author and I am a big fan of her heartwarming, uplifting, clean romance, holiday reads.

This book features a road trip with three different stories as three pairs are traveling to another family member for Christmas. I could absolutely see this as a Hallmark Christmas movie too!

I loved this book and making the magic of Christmas come alive. I’m from Idaho so the premise of traveling home for the holidays immediately drew me in. I loved how everyone was able to work out their issue by the end of the book. It was a big holiday hug b
