Thank you Jessica Hatch and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I would rate this 2.5-3/5 stars.

I thought this book was just good overall. It had cute moments and a good, happy ending. However, I really struggle to continue reading a book where I do not like the main character as much. The main character is so selfish in my opinion that I don't think she really deserved all that happened for her. Overall a decent read.

5/5 and would highly recommend. Hatch’s writing has a way of drawing you in, making you want to keep reading.. even when it’s definitely time to go to sleep!
Everyone’s dream would be to win the lottery. But win the lottery to have your dream wedding? Yes please.
But what happens when you find out your partner has been cheering and you’ve split up.. all before winning the lottery? A nightmare.
I absolutely loved following Bea on her journey to find a husband. I won’t give anything away but her journey was brilliant (if you can say that!) and made me laugh all throughout. With plenty of funny and cringey moments, this is the perfect book for a romance lover who will read from start to finish in one sitting.
I can’t wait to get my hands on a physical copy!

At first glance, this novel should be a bestseller. The idea is great but the execution is unfortunately off for me.

Bea is not likable and I struggled finishing her story as I really didn't care for her or any of her "love/ wedding interests". Most of her relationships/ friendships seemed unhealthy to me, mostly forced.
The book is about selfish Bea, more than it is really about finding the love of her life to marry him.

I was so excited to read this book because who wouldn't be excited to? A wedding with no groom? It sounds like the perfect set up for an amazing rom-com. Sadly, I was disappointed by the story and characters.

When Bea Corbin wins her perfect wedding it may seem like her life is falling into place. Except for the fact that she no longer has a groom after being cheated on and dumped. Bea sets her sights on a new groom, cute office guy Andrew, but their blossoming relationship faces several problems along the way including Oliver, an unsupportive best friend and Bea's no so excited mother. With the help of Bea's #1 co-worker/bff Lucy can Bea really pull this marriage off?

Despite my usual love of any romantic comedy, this book just didn't hit the mark for me. The start was pretty slow paced and lacked the personality you usually see in a book like this. I did love the office romance in this but became more disappointed as I read on and Andrew & Bea's chemistry didn't quite hit the mark. Additionally, I can't really get behind the love triangle trope and honestly felt that neither Oliver or Andrew was going to be the right choice. The best part of this book was for sure Lucy & Charlie! Their side romance was so lovable and their ending to the story was absolutely perfect!

Overall, I just found so many faults in these characters that I found it hard to root for any of their happiness and couldn't commit to the story that was being told.

This was enjoyable enough but the relationship was not developed at all. I obviously knew she was going to end up with charlie but the writing to get to that point was terrible. They did not spend enough time together for that the be believable. Also andrew is such a piece of trash.

I received an arc through netgalley.

OK, my thoughts!

1. LOVE the cover. 5 stars for the cover!
2. This premise is everything I want in a summer, beachy read.
3. I enjoyed it, but didn't love it and here's why:
4. I never connected with the characters and didn't believe the chemistry.
5. It felt like the pacing was really off.
6.However, this was a quick and easy read if that is what you're looking for.

This book follows Bea, who wins a competition for a free wedding. However, she does not have a husband. The book follows Bea on her journey to find a husband in just under 9 months.

This book was a miss for me, I did enjoy parts of it but it felt a bit long in some parts.
Bea, the main character, was just not the type of main character I like, she was self obsessed and unable to see how she was hurting people.

Oliver and Lucy were probably the high part of the novel, they both were honest and open and told Bea exactly how they felt in most situations where she was being selfish and ridiculous.

I rated this book 3 stars.

Thank you NetGalley for sending me a copy of this book in exchange on my honest opinion.
I feel like it’s the kind of book which has a great plot but wasn’t written for me. Bea, the main character, was someone I understood and may I say, connect with, but seriously annoyed me by the end of the book. It was the same with the other characters, they were touching at first, but when you started reading more, I wanted to yell at them.
It was truly a cute book, but the pace was a bit to long, and I hated the ending. It was predictable but also too quick.
Otherwise, I guess you could say it was a nice rom-com.

What a fun, humorous premise! This book started off as a light, amusing read, but unfortunately, I wouldn't fully immerse myself into the story. The characters were not relatable, nor did they have any chemistry. However, I did like how the wedding ended up at the end (and I loved the adorable cover!).

In “My Big Fake Wedding”, Beatrice is just getting over a traumatic breakup with her long time boyfriend when she finds out that she won the dream wedding giveaway she entered several years ago. Now, she has 6 months to find a groom and get him to her dream wedding.

This book was a cute summer read, and I enjoyed parts of it. However, I was really not a fan of most of the characters. The friendship between Bea and Lucy was very toxic. Lucy constantly blamed all her problems on Bea. Additionally, while I enjoyed the guessing game of who Bea was going to be up with, it was disappointing to read the whole book, get attached to Andrew and then at the last second he bails, and suddenly Oliver is in. It just seemed like a very rushed ending. Also, i still don’t really understand what GUM does.

If you want a cute book that doesn’t make you think very much, you might want to give this book a read.

Overall, I gave it 2 out of 5 stars.

Please note: I did receive a free ARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review :)

Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for giving me an ARC of this book to review!

I would overall give this 3.5 stars out of 5, not 3 (but Goodreads doesn't have half stars sooo). I liked the concept but I feel like the book needed a little more excitement -- the work drama and relationship drama just felt a little bit repetitive. It was still an entertaining read though, so I would recommend it.

However, I did like the characters a lot! I wish we saw more of Oliver; I think seeing him and Bea interact more would have improved this book a lot. Lucy and Charlie were really good characters as well, and I liked seeing side characters who have their own storyline instead of being there solely for the purpose of supporting the main character.

I just wish there had been more build up to the ending -- everything that happened just felt rushed. I'm going to put spoilers below this so stop reading if you don't want those!!!

SPOILERS

Everything with Bea's breakup with Andrew just felt so sudden, and it was kind of jarring. They had a few small problems which I would have expected but the fact that he just decided to move to Austin and leave her alone? I was glad it happened because she definitely shouldn't have been marrying him so quickly but I feel like Andrew just suddenly became a much less considerate character. Through most of the book he was good to Bea given the situation she put him in, so that's what made it feel weird to me that he would just leave and not even give her an indication that that might happen.

I also just felt like Bea and Oliver getting together happened too quickly. The entire book I could sense that she was going to end up with Oliver, but I really needed to see more of them getting closer to that point. Because they were fighting for a couple of months, Oliver wasn't even in the book that much, so it was hard to see his dynamic with Bea. I could tell immediately that he was in love with her but for Bea to be heartbroken and then suddenly get together with Oliver was a little too much in a short time frame. I like them together and I liked the ending, but there just needed to be more build up to that.

Also I was shouting for the last third of the book once I found out that Charlie did want to marry Lucy for Bea to give the wedding to them, so I was SO glad when Oliver did make arrangements for that to happen!

DNF.

Just couldn't get into the story. Bea was annoying and childish. The concept seemed interesting, but a fifth of the way in and there are no love interests. Seemed very slow moving.

I rounded up to three stars, but this is more of a 2.5 if I am being honest!

I feel really bad giving it such a low review after reading the author’s note. She explained that she wanted to write a romantic comedy about the quirky best friend, who normally gets overlooked. While I love the concept, the book just fell short.

Bea, was not a protagonist that I rooted for. She felt very juvenile and at times was super annoying. She fixated too much on finding a groom instead of a true partner, just because she won a prepaid wedding. While it is true that many people worry about hitting milestones by a certain timeframe, Bea’s journey seemed too far fetched.

Overall, the writing lacked depth and the characters needed more development. In theory I love the concept of this book, but in execution I did not.

Special thanks to NetGalley.com and Bookouture for allowing me to read this book in exchange for my honest feedback.

A fun, flirty read, but unfortunately not for me. The entire concept of the novel was very much intriguing, but I felt as though it fell flat around halfway in.

Unfortunately, I am DNFing this ARC at the 60% mark. I found it hard to care about most of the characters, especially the main character. I found her to be insufferable. I don't mind insufferable if the character is interesting, but she is not. She is selfish, and it is no wonder she has to use a scheme to get married. I also had a hard time with the main love interest. You know she won't end up with him, but the person you know she will end up with is barely on the page. There is no chemistry between any of them.

I liked the idea of this book, but the execution just didn't work for me.

This Romcom is centered around Bea, a young woman in an active search for love. The twist? She only has eight months to find it! Indeed, she has the wedding all planned out, but... no man to marry!

This book sounded so promising to me when I first read the blurb on Netgalley. Unfortunately, it did not deliver.
I found Bea to be difficult to like. She can be self-centered and not only neglects her friends, but can sometimes be mean to them.
I absolutely loved the supporting characters, Lucy and Oliver. They were very well written, endearing and funny. Although, they deserved more from this story, and more from Bea. It felt like they were constantly the ones having to compromise and forgive Bea for her behavior.

The narration wasn't as fluid as I would have preferred. Bea overthinks absolutely everything. Which, I completely get because I have a tendency to do that too! Except here, it tended to make the narration heavier and slowed down the story.
I did really enjoy the little To-Do Lists at the end of each chapter. They were always a funny momentduring my read. Besides, it really helped to keep track of the timeline, which I really appreciated.

I don't want to say to much about the ending here so I don't spoil the story. But I will say that I enjoyed this unique ending. It made me bump the rating to 2 stars here (and 2,5 with my personal rating system).

A feel good rom com! Finished this in one sitting. It is quite easy to read and the initial chapters are quite interesting and pull you right in.

Loved the concept of wedding planning but in reverse. Bea enters the lucky draw for her perfect wedding. When she is picked as the winner she realises she has everything but her boyfriend/husband. And then commences the hunt for the right one. Loved the friends to lovers trope and the context. However, found the character to be a little unreasonable at times where she takes time to grow on you. A decent one time light read. Go for it if you are looking for a summer read that is relaxing.

I enjoyed this book. I read it in two days! The writing style was fun and it was a quick and easy read. I really liked the incorporation of the to do lists. I'm a huge list person so that made me happy. I also enjoyed that it had the friends to lovers and fake dating trope. At times, it made me very frustrated with how self centred Bea was and how oblivious she was to her friends issues and feelings. Things also felt quite rushed towards the end but the ending was cute so I'm not too mad at it.

Overall, it was a funny and cute rom com read!

Lovely book but ultimately not for me. The concept of the story was interesting but it did not deliver.
No viable chemistry and it did not hold me in the story. Nearly dnfd it.
Woud not be recommending it but also not telling people not to read it.
1 star unfortunately.

I didn't like this at all. I found the main character bea very selfish throughout the whole book so I didn't have a lot of sympathy for her. The idea of winning a wedding and having to find a groom in 8 months was what interested me but I feel this could have been written so much better.

I really did want to enjoy this but I was left cringing throughout which I don't want with a book.
