Great continuation of series

Police officer Josie Quinn and her new husband come across a horrible scene while returning from their honeymoon. A young woman was killed, another took off running, and a man with an infant daughter is accused of the murder. Josie knows there is more to the story the story, but, because this is fiction, manages to avoid getting killed and the red herrings until the bad people are caught.

This was an excellent book, one that kept me reading until I was too tired to really absorb the end. I liked it enough to re-read the end so I remembered it correctly.

If you haven't read any of the earlier books, this works just fine as a stand-alone, but is best appreciated as the latest installment of the Josie Quinn series.

Local Girl Missing is a whirlwind of a ride and Josie, Noah and team are racing against time to find the missing girl.

Another is dead.

Someone is hiding a big secret and people are getting killed over it.

No one is safe.

Local Girl Missing is full of twists and turns that I thought I had followed cleverly but Lisa Regan once again had the final twist I did not see coming.

I love this series and I will be patiently waiting for book 16 in the series. No pressure.

Thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for a page turning read.

This was a fun, twisty mystery. You can read the book as is or as a series. I didn't read it as a series and I was able to understand. Great story.

The only let down was that it was slow at first but then everything took off.

Thanks publisher and Netgalley.

Teenage naivete and organised crime come together to wreak havoc in the city of Denton in the latest book of the Josie Quinn series and I am so stoked to have grabbed my copy of this adrenaline-packed ride.

Josie and Noah are thrust into the midst of a case even before they are fully back from a much-delayed and well-deserved break/honeymoon, when they come upon a murder scene. With one teenage girl dead, another one missing and a killer on the loose with no clues regarding the motive of the crime, the Denton Police Department have their work cut out for them.

Every time I read a Josie Quinn novel, I claim it to be the best in the series, but honestly, this time, for sure, this one is hands down my favourite. From the action-packed chase scene right at the beginning to the gradual unraveling of the mystery - that only plunges both Josie and the reader further into confusion - this plot promises to be an absolute page-turner. The best thing that I enjoyed about the book was how impossible it was to guess the motive and the mastermind behind the crime.

The author balances the procedural drama with snippets of domestic scenes - this does not take away from the thrill of the narrative, but brings to the forefront how much Josie's life and personal relationships have evolved from the first book.

Overall, an action-charged read with an exhilarating climax. Thanks to Netgalley and Bookouture for providing a digital copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Lisa Regan has done it again! The Josie Quinn series is one of my favorite series of all time! Every book is better than the last! This is a cast of characters I have come to feel like I know personally! Where I live in Florida we have Sheriff Chitwood and he is who I always picture when Chief Chitwood is mentioned! Thanks again for another amazing read and when is number 16 coming out?

It’s always a delight to return to this series! As always, I raced through this book in one sitting and couldn’t put it down. The author is adept at ramping up the suspense and I loved this one. It was fast paced, shocking, and full of the characters I’ve grown to love. I can’t wait for the next in the series!

This newest Detective Josie Quinn story is certainly something! A body of a teenage girl, Dina, is found in the forest and her best friend, Allison, was seen running for her life from the scene, current whereabouts unknown. They know who attacked them, as Josie runs him down at the scene, but can't understand how on earth he's connected to them and why he would want to hurt them. All they know is that he frequented the hotel the girls both worked at. The man is recovering in the hospital, appears terrified, and won't say a word to the detectives.

They naturally investigate at the hotel, but find more questions than answers. Then, one of their top suspects becomes a victim and they realize this case is more complicated than they ever expected. It turns out, Dina had something that wasn't hers and someone is going to great lengths to get it back, taking down anyone that stands in their way. But without Allison to tell them what it could be or where it is, Josie and her team are at a loss.

The plot is twisty and intricate with many characters that at first seem unimportant but then are revealed as crucial to unraveling the mystery. You'll start to formulate your own ideas as to who the killer might be and why, but then suddenly it's like you don't know what's really happening at all! It's the best kind of story and it will have you racing to get through it to figure out how it all comes together. You won't be disappointed!

It is almost impossible to put down any of Lisa Regan’s “Josie Quinn Crime Thrillers” and “Local Girl Missing” is no exception. There are multiple stories in this book that are so skillfully interwoven that I was totally frustrated that I couldn’t put it together on my own. While this can easily be read as a stand alone I recommend reading a few others in this series to enjoy the progression and character development. Most of the characters we expect to find in a Josie Quinn crime drama make an appearance and they are on top of their games. This crime is taking all of their resources and still the headway is slow. We get a good look at police procedures and how each clue has to be followed. Despite a prevailing police presence crimes are spiraling out of control, witnesses are threatened and worse and the pieces are just not fitting together. The plot has as many tentacles as an octopus, the settings are so well described that you can envision the thick fog, hold your breath during the flight and fight scenes and nod your head in understanding as Josie and Noah parse out the details and put it all together while they manage to remind you how much they love one another.

Lisa Regan ups her game with each installment and I I am relating this series to the potato chip syndrome where you just can’t stop. A million thanks to Bookoutre and NetGalley for a copy.

I’m a true Detective Josie Quinn and Lisa Regan fan - I’ve read the entire series and loved each of them. While my faves remain 9&14 (and kinda 5), this latest addition, book 15, “Local Girl Missing,” is a crazy thrill ride from the very first sentence to the last. Lisa keeps you guessing, re-guessing, thinking you know exactly what happened and who dunnit, until you realize you know absolutely nothing and it’s not even close to the real story!

She throws in a few chapters of a character’s background, which keeps us guessing even further, and to throw us off. This was a fantastic ploy to look at all the characters with more scrutiny, and think harder … and still not see some of the other clues in other chapters. A re-read is definitely going to have everything front and center but all of Lisa’s typical, fantastic writing leads us in other directions until the truth is revealed. I loved that this book was longer than the others, to build up the suspense even more.

Another brilliant thrill of a time with Josie Quinn and her team, from Lisa Regan. I highly recommend this winner to absolutely everyone who enjoys detective novels and police investigative thrillers, and who-dunnit novels that keep you guessing until the end. 4.5-stars enthusiastically rounded up to 5!

I received an advance copy from NetGalley and Bookouture, and this is my honest feedback.

Another brilliant book in this great crime series.
Josie and Noah are travelling back from their honeymoon and hit some nasty fog. A girl suddenly runs out in front of them so they pull over, only to find a man attacking another girl.
When they get back they get everyone out looking for the girl and try and work out what was happening.
The other girl doesn’t make it so they can’t get any information from her, just a car that was abandoned seems to belong to the man involved.
This is a fast paced crime thriller with lots going on throughout the book.
Josie and the team really have their hands full with this case.
Another great read in this brilliant series.
Thanks to Bookouture and NetGalley for the opportunity to read this book.

In the fog on their way home from their honeymoon a figure runs in front of the car. When Josie and Noah go to look, they discover another girl on the ground and a man runs away. Josie runs after the man only for him to jump off a cliff. And so begins another installment of Detective Josie Quinn. Murder victims piling up, people missing, no one giving straight answers. This sums up how the investigation goes. Mett and Amber were on a mini vacation in the beginning so play a very tiny part of the investigation. This mainly involves Josie, Noah and Gretchen. There are also some chapters in the book, from a girl talking about the different things she learned as a child. Trinity and Drake make a brief appearance (can't have a Josie Quinn book without Trinity at least). Still love all the main characters in this series. Thank you NetGalley, Bookouture and Lisa Regan.

Another amazing chapter in the Josie Quinn saga!! I have said it before but I must say it again…this author sure knows how to keep us guessing. Some authors give away the “killer/murderer” way too soon but Lisa keeps us guessing right up until the reveal. I was sure I had it all figured out and then BAM here comes the twist! Also theses characters have become a family and they feel like family to us readers who have taken this journey through 15 books now. They feel familiar and that is a testament to Lisa’s genius. She has created this world tho scary at times makes you wish you could visit in real life!

Yet another stellar book from the fabulous Lisa Regan! This time we're delving into the murder of one teenage girl and the fact that the other seems to have vanished into thin air. I'll be honest, this story did not end up where I thought it would! Absolutely wonderful read.

Local Girl Missing is a mystery/thriller that is hard to put down! I was intrigued from the first chapter until the very last. This was my first read by this author and it has made me want to read her other books as there are many others in this series.

If you are looking for a book that keeps you on your toes throughout and will keep you guessing than this is the book for you!

Thank you to NetGalley for giving me a chance to read this book before it is released!

This is a real action packed thriller. It’s exactly what you’d expect from Lisa Regan and her Josie Quinn series!!!
Josie and Noah are returning from their honeymoon. They stop and pull over as the road is foggy. Josie gets out and tumbles onto an attack taking place on two teenage girls. One is left dead but the other manages to escape.
Josie, Noah and their team now set to work to find the missing girl and the man who attacked them.

If you haven’t read the other books in the series … why not! However, this can be read as a standalone too.

Thank you to the author, publisher and NetGalley for this .intensely thrilling ARC.

This is an action packed thriller, right from the very first page until the last. I really enjoy this series of books featuring Josie Quinn and book 15 finds Josie and Noah returning from their honeymoon when they encounter a roadside incident involving two young girls. The plot is very clever and the characterisation is excellent. The twists are numerous and the suspense mounts until the dramatic and unexpected climax. It can be read as a stand alone and I would highly recommend jumping on the rollercoaster journey! My thanks to Net Galley for this very exciting read.

A fast paced thriller with a very twisted plot. The unravelling portion was going around in circles and it felt like the detectives were chasing their tails. The beginning was intriguing while the conclusion was less so.
