Lisa Regan has done it again! She has crafted another tautly structured mystery for Josie and her crew to solve. This time the adventure begins as Josie and her husband Noah are driving back from the airport after returning from their long awaited honeymoon. The foggy roads lead them to pull over and wait for the fog to burn off. As they wait they hear a horrible scream which leads them to discover an attack in progress. One young woman is left dead and another has managed to escape her attacker … but where did she go? The actual perpetrator is not hard to discover but discovering the motive is much more complex! Nothing is routine about this new case as the Denton police unravel a complex mystery that leads the reader on a wild ride!

A solid four star read in the Josie Quinn series. Great premise. Well written. Good characters. Page turner. Plenty of suspense to keep me guessing. Would definitely read her next novel. Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for the chance to review it.

Just when I was starting to give up on thrillers, along comes this book that had everything I love in a thriller/police procedural.

The writing flows wonderfully and the pace is quick!! I have only read a few books in this series but it worked perfectly as a standalone.

Detective Josie Quinn and her husband Noah are just returning from a well earned delayed honeymoon. They are traveling on a fairly quiet road in dense early morning fog.

The next things happen in a flash; they see a man attacking a teenage girl and another girl run away. They pursue but aren’t able to find the girl and the attacker leaps into a river not knowing if he will live or die.

The rest of the plot revolves around the WHO, WHY AND WHAT of this novel.

1.Who are all the players involved in this multi-layered plot? Why did this seemingly “average” married architect try to kill two girls?
2. What is the seedy underside of this hotel’s operations?
3. What is missing that is worth killing over?

Josie, Noah and their team work basically around the clock to find the girl and the man who attacked them. It’s too late for one girl, Dina!! The missing girl, Alison, is her best friend.

The plot is multi-layered, I thought I had it figured out, BUT THERE WAS ALWAYS A PIECE OF THE PUZZLE MISSING!!

If you can guess that before it’s revealed, you are a SUPER SLEUTH!

This was really so good and it’s always fun to watch Josie at work, amazing at her job but also described well in her personal life – we need more people like Josie!! I plan on reading more from this author and I hope you do too. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

I received an ARC of this novel from the publisher through NetGalley. It was my pleasure to read and review this title.

This book is set to publish on August 11, 2022

Looking for a dependable crime series with dynamic character lines and a fast moving plot? Look no further. Another great Josie Quinn novel and like almost all books in this series, it can be read as a stand alone. Regan offers an intriguing, multifaceted storyline with plenty of surprises. Loved it.

Thank you to #NetGalley for the ARC of #LocalMissingGirl which was read and reviewed voluntarily.

Noah and Josie have finally had a wonderful honeymoon in St. Thomas. They are heading home after their long flight. Josie is driving the long mountain roads back to Denton, PA. They are both exhausted and a bit cranky. To top it off, the weather is horrendous. Fog is dense and the drive is slow going. Josie knows the road well but some spots are slick and the road is narrow with a long drop down. Coming around a pass both she and Noah are certain they see lights. To avoid crashing into a stopped vehicle she pulls over to a tourist parking area. The ground is slick. Now they both swear they hear music playing. Noah stays at the car with the phone and the police radio. They are not far from Denton so help would be available should there be an accident. She sees car lights, hears screaming. Josie quickens her step and calls Noah to alert the problem. He begins trekking toward her. Footsteps fly down the road in front of them. A teen female is crying and running away leaving a horrible sight in her path. A man is straddling another young woman, strangling her, forcing her head and neck into the pavement. Identifying themselves as police, they yell for him to stop. When he finally ends his actions he stares at the approaching duo and takes off running into the woods following the teen.
Thus begins the latest Josie Quinn novel from Lisa Regan. It is another exciting suspense story in the Denton Police Department series. Excellent, another page-turner. Local Girl Missing will be published on August 11, 2022 by Bookouture. My appreciation goes to the publishing company for allowing me to read and review Lisa Regan’s latest Detective Josie Quinn, #15 in the series. Her fans as well as myself were anticipating another gripping chapter following Josie, Noah and the cast of familiar characters within the mystery series. It’s an excellent read to capture a weekend. Do Enjoy.

I was super excited to read Local Girl Missing (Detective Josie Quinn Book 15) by Lisa Regan. I am a huge fan of Lisa Regan and the Josie Quinn series.

The Josie Quinn books are a police procedural series featuring Josie Quinn, a detective. The police procedural elements in Local Girl Missing are quite authentic, and the book reads well.

Detective Josie Quinn finds the body of a local teenage girl, and so the story begins and doesn't let up. I flew through this story; it was page-turning and exciting. The plot was well done, and once you start reading, you don't want to stop until you find out what happens. Lisa Regan is a great writer; the stories are well written, and the characters are likable and authentic.

The ending was a bit quick, but overall, the book is well written and a great addition to the series.

I would highly recommend this book, this author, and this series. Do yourself a favor and start at book 1 and enjoy the ride!

would like to thank netgalley and the publishers for letting me read this amazing book

quinn and noah are on their way back from their honeymoon when the fog and the mysterious girl running to save her life ended their romantic little bubble.....

and it was go go go right from the very start....you didnt have time to draw breath and the action never stopped

who was that girl and why was she running so fast and then in the next scene they stumble on a man straddling another young girl shouting at her "where is it?" whilst he had his hands around her throat..... and you have to wonder how much more high octane can this book get.....

this book will leave you breathless and jaw dropping as each page turns, there is never a dull moment, the shocks just keep on coming

one of the best books in this series and they are all good but this one is exceptional and being book 15 you have to hand it to the author for keeping this series as exciting as if its the first one in the series, its a very high standard of achievement

Every now and then, a novel grips me from the first sentence and just won’t let go until the last sentence ends. This was one of those novels. “She is eight years old the first time she hears all the different ways bones can break”. What a compelling start!

I typically do not jump into the middle of a series if I can help it, but I did with this one. This was my first Josie Quinn novel, and I found that I had no issues picking it up and understanding what was going on. It really could be a standalone novel. The only thing missing is character backstory. This glimpse into the world of Jose Quinn has me hooked, for sure. I will definitely be going back to read the rest.

This novel starts out explosively, with the majority of the remainder spent following the burning embers, to find where it all started. There are many twists and turns, unexpected characters and really unexpected situations. It keeps you guessing from the beginning all the way to the end.

Overall, this novel is incredibly well written. The characters are well-developed and believable. The story is compelling and hard to put down! Whether this is the first JQ novel you read, or if you are following the series, I think there’s something in this novel for every fan of a good police detective novel.

This was the first novel I've read in the Josie Quinn series which may have impacted my review. While this certainly is a stand-alone, sometimes I felt like I might have benefited from reading the previous novels in the series.

I enjoyed the characters, writing and plot line, altho from my personal POV I could live with a bit less on the domestic front, but that's my taste. There were some unexpected twists and turns in the plot line that I certainly did not see coming.

Overall an enjoyable read that I finished rather quickly.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Detective Josie Quinn and her husband Noah only wanted to beat a hurricane home and enjoy the last day of their belated honeymoon but instead found themselves knee deep in the case of a runaway girl, a murdered girl, an unlikely suspect and a whole lot of weird happenings. The team rallies together to solve this case, chasing dead ends, shady characters and a whole lot of drama. A wonderful addition to the Josie Quinn series, a must read thriller!

ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for honest review.

Local Girl Missing (Detective Josie Quinn Book 15) by Lisa Regan Another great addition to the Josie Quinn series. More focused on the cases in this edition with many twists and a surprising ending. Looking forward to the next book in the series, they just kept getting better and better.

I think this is one of the twistiest plots yet in this very enjoyable series. Our favourite characters, Detectives Josie Quinn and Noah Farley are finally married and have been able to find time away for a honeymoon. Unfortunately, their restful break away from work is about to come to an abrupt end. On their way home from the airport, driving in thick fog, they see a teenage girl run across the road in front of their car. Stopping to see what she was running from they find a second teenage girl being attacked by a middle-aged man before he too runs away, leaving the contents of the girls bags strewn across the ground, suggesting he was looking for something.

It seems a lot of people are looking for the something that is missing, even though most of them have no idea what ‘it’ is or who it belongs too. Josie and Noah have a hard time trying to work out what is going on and how it all connects to the two teenage girls, who were best friends on their way to work at a hotel when they stopped because of the fog. Throughout the novel, we also hear the voice of another girl called ‘Pea’ whose father seems to be a villain of some sort but it’s not clear who she is or how she fits in to the plot until very near the end when everything falls terrifyingly into place. I thought the plot was very well done, gripping and intriguing without giving away too much until the climax, making for a very wild ride indeed.

Josie And Noah are driving home after their honeymoon in the fog. They can’t see so they pull over and end up at a crime scene with one dead body and one girl missing. Bam! That’s how you start a book as you are intrigued instantly to find out what led to this.

I love her books because they are so fast paced and full of action. You just need to clear your schedule as once you start you won’t want to do anything else. You have no idea where this story is going but you know twists are coming so sit back, relax and enjoy the journey.

How does this author conceive such a variety of in depth storylines while staying true to her characters? This is not a rehash of an oft done plot as Josie and the rest of the group defy lack of leads to an unforseen conclusion
Thank you netgalley and the publisher for this arc

The fifteenth book to feature Josie Quinn and her team and what a wild ride. One young girl is found dead and her friend is missing. Another nail biting, race against time to save the girl and catch the killer. Full of misdirection and sprinkled with red herrings. I devoured this book in one sitting and finally turned the last page at 2.am. A real rollercoaster of a crime thriller and thoroughly entertaining. This author has done it again and another MUST READ in this gripping and very addictive series.

Josie and Noah are returning from their honeymoon when, in a heavy fog, a girl runs in front of them. They stop to try to help and get involved in their next case. I love the Josie Quinn series. A great thing about it is you can start at any book and don’t need to start from the beginning of the series (very good if you are just discovering Josie as this is book 15!) Josie is a very relatable police detective along with Noah. I love the relationship between Josie and Noah and I can see a long future for them.

Another brilliant read from Lisa. The story involves the trails of Josie and Noah and the Denton police force. The reader is hooked from the start to the end. Many heartstopping moments.

4.5 where is Alison stars

Intrepid Detective Josie Quinn is on her way back home to Denton after a belated honeymoon with her love Noah. They don’t even make it all the way home before they are sucked into another murder investigation. This time they find a young woman being strangled by the side of the road. Another woman was with her, but she has disappeared into the fog.

Josie, Noah, and the whole team are on the case to determine why the women were attacked, one fatally. Where is Alison and what was the man looking for? Did someone catch up with her or has she successfully gotten away? As they dig into the girls’ lives and workplace, a local hotel, we know something very dark is at work in Denton.

This one was very focused on the police work although there were some brief moments of joy with Trout, one of my favorite dog characters! I was not on the right track with my detective work in this action-packed one, but I enjoyed every minute of the read.

Lisa Regan is one of my favorite authors and when she’s got a new book out, I drop everything else to read it first. This series keeps delivering and I can’t wait to see the next case for Josie and team. I would highly recommend these and although you can read this as a stand-alone, I would recommend the whole series and you can start with the first and have some great reading ahead!

This might be the best in the series. Josie and Noah are returning from their honeymoon, in the fog, when they see someone run in front of their car into the woods. This is how it all begins. What a story of twists and turns that will keep you guessing right up until the end. The series never disappoints and wants you to continue with the series. I can honestly say that there is not 1 book in this series that doesn't disappoints you. This will keep you reading and you won't want to stop until you finish it. Thank you NetGalley for the ARC!
