I loved this book and raced through it, I enjoyed the narrative between Thailand and England and the fast paced writing. There were plenty of twists throughout that kept me guessing what would happen next.
It’s the perfect beach read and one that I’d strongly recommend.

Finished this one last night and it was amazing!!! It will be released in September. I read the first 20% of it Monday night and finished the rest of it at 2am last night (this morning). I was completely sucked into this book. So many little twists and information that you slowly learn. I couldn't put it down. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Copied from my GoodReads review under Raymie
This book was good! I had an issues in the first couple chapters with the UK format and language but once I got going it was amazing.
I was really drawn into Hayley’s story and travels through Thailand.
It was so easy to keep the flash backs and present days separate and still know what was going on.
And the ending… 🤯🤯🤯🤯
No one is who they seem. One surprise after another.
Thank you Ruth Heald and NetGalley for letting me review.

Loved this book! Thank you NetGalley for the advanced copy. Sometimes the back and forth isn't written well. but this was done great. It's like the chapter before was set up for the next and it flowed really well. The suspense was good and i powered through this book. while I did guess some of connections and shocks, there were plenty that shocked me. Great thriller!

“The Nanny” is a psychological thriller by Ruth Heald. It’s told in two timelines - one back in 1999 and the other in present day. In both, the reader follows Hayley - in the 1999 timeline as a nanny and in the present timeline as a Mum juggling work, a household, and caring for her elderly mother. I read this book in one day - the storyline sucked me in. I am not a fan of unreliable characters and while I cannot say that a number of folks were unreliable, there were a lot of secrets being kept by so many people that it became almost a game to figure out who wasn’t hiding something! It was easy to keep track of the two timelines, which I appreciated.

This book was sent to me by Netgalley for review…thanks to the publisher also…some likable characters…some not so much…secrets…family…second chances…family dynamics…from a baby to an elderly mother…needing help…the story moves quickly…protecting family members…finding out the truth…which
person is really the person he/she claims to be…aliases…one thing that is somewhat bothersome is that there are so many themes in this book…so many issues to be addressed…somewhat confusing…however, the author is talented at writing a cannot put down book.

Easy and relatively enjoyable read. I wouldn't say that there were any major shocks in this book but I think have read that many of these type of books that most of the 'twists' have been done. However, there were all the traditional components e.g. flashbacks to the past, everyone with secrets or suspicious behaviours. I enjoyed the setting of Thailand for part of the book having been there myself.

The Nanny by Ruth Heald is another winner from an author who never seems to miss the mark. I was riveted by this twisty narrative from the very start.

Hayley is travelling in Thailand in 1999 and, finding herself short of money, accepts a nannying job with Brit ex-pats Julie and David. Her three charges include the couple's newborn daughter Chloe, whose care falls almost exclusively to the young and inexperienced Hayley. When the baby goes missing, Hayley knows that she must get back home to the UK before she is persecuted for a crime that she claims she did not commit. Life moves on, and Hayley marries and has a daughter of her own who is the centre of her world. But the memories of her past are never far from mind, and consequences have a way of bearing out just when you think you have dodged them for good.

This is another brilliant read from the talented Ruth Heald, and it is guaranteed to keep you turning the pages late into the night.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Bookouture for an ARC.

In 1999, Haley Taylor was working as a nanny in Thailand when she was arrested when the baby she was caring for named Chloe McFarlane had gone missing. She was later released since there was not enough evidence against her. Fast forward to the present, Haley is now married and has a daughter of her own named Alice. Haley lives with her mother who has dementia and her husband's business is currently struggling. They decide to take in a flat mate to help with their financial situation. The young girl’s name is Johanna. Johanna has a resemblance to Chloe's father, David. Could they be related? Is Johanna really Chloe grown up? I don't want to say much more, there's a lot going on here.

Told in past and present timelines, this made the book very entertaining. One of the twists I did figure out early on, but the others I did not. This was a quick and easy read. I did enjoy it, and at times felt bad for Haley as she struggled to keep a very big secret. Overall, a very entertaining read and hard to put down. I am a Ruth Heald fan!

I am a fan of psychological thrillers but haven’t found myself gripped by one for a while now. This book changed that, and I read it in one sitting.

The storyline was intriguing for me because, as a nanny for a long time, I know how hard the job can be. However the job itself wasn’t the main focus of the story. There are so many twists and turns I almost couldn’t keep up at times. This book drew me in from the first chapter and kept me there till the last.

Many thanks to Bookouture and Netgalley for providing a copy.
