The Bread Shop series is such a fun cozy series, and this book was no exception. I love the characters and their interactions. The setting is wonderful, and I really enjoyed the plot of this one!
A regular who used Yeast of Eden as a workspace, Josh Prentiss always turned heads with his startlingly good looks and thousand-watt smile. But Ivy can’t help noticing one morning that he seems distracted and off his game. Later, during a visit to the park where she and Miguel plan to hold their engagement party—with plenty of baked goods on the menu—her rescue pug, Agatha, sniffs out Josh lying in a bed of poppies…scone cold dead.
Ivy just can’t help herself she needs to solve the mystery.

Ivy is busy planning her engagement party that will feature a “Bread Wall” Olaya is creating. But when a regular customer is poisoned and the word is that it was done by Olaya’s bread, Ivy has to add finding a killer to her list. With quite a large pool of suspects, Ivy has her work cut out for her.
This is another great addition to this fabulous cozy series. Every visit to Santa Sofia delivers a solid whodunit filled with red herrings and suspects that keep you guessing until close to the end. With a sweet pug and the smell of the ocean, you’ll have the perfect get away for awhile.
I've enjoyed this series throughout but this wasn't my favorite entry. I just couldn't lock in to the story. A little boring. Thank you to NetGalley for the advance read.

Ivy the photographer is a character I can relate to as she is pointedly curious, not perfect, and has a sense of humor. Olaya and her bakery Yeast of Eden are the other side of the Pacific and Equator of Corinna Chapman and her shop Earthly Delights. Olaya's other mission is to empower marginalized women through making and promoting the breads of their home peoples. But now someone murdered a regular customer and some unruly elements have targeted Olaya as a poisoner. Let the sleuthing begin! Solid mystery with more than enough motives and suspects, plot twists, red herrings, and suspense. Loved it and the series, too!
