As a fan of this series I felt disappointed with the latest addition. It’s starting to feel played out and forced.

Thank you to NetGalley for allowing me the pleasure of reading the latest installment with Dr. Scarpetta. Patricia Cornwell did not disappoint with the latest installment of the Scarpetta series. I have enjoyed each book and have grown to love the characters. I enjoyed the story greatly and followed the information with great anticipation. I loved how the story unfolded. The only item I would like to have seen improved upon is the end of the book seemed to move too quickly. I felt that I was so very rushed in the end, but PLEASE do not let that keep you from reading this book!

I usually like the Kay Scarpetta books, but Livid: A Scarpetta Novel by Patricia Cornwell had me struggling to get through the story. There was a lot going on in the storyline to keep track of, and there were times I rolled my eyes at some of the unbelievable things happening in the story. In the beginning, the courtroom drama was a bit much to take. How could a judge allow the prosecutor to be so brazen and out of line?

Lucy was a great character, and I would like to see her featured more, but I don't think I will be reading any more Kay Scarpetta books; it may be time for her to retire and to put this series to bed.

×First, I can't thank Grand Central Publishing enough for this approved eARC!
PC and her Kay Scarpetta series is what started my instant love and obsession with mystery/thriller novels. I've read every single book in the series and to this day it's still one of my favorites.

(I won't go over the synopsis on this review because I just want to talk about the Author and this book)

Livid is book 26 in the Kay Scarpetta series by Patricia Cornwell and she delivers another captivating, most intriguing story yet.

I have no clue how PC does it... But damn she does it every single time.
Ok, so I have to admit one of the many reason (but my most favorite) I love this series so much is because of the characters! Kay, Benton, Lucy and of course Marino. I've grown with them, cared or them and truly loved them (may sound crazy) but it's the truth.
Scarpetta, is hands down one of my favorite long time running character ever.

Livid is fast, dark, thrilling and extremely twisty.
This book took a hold of me right from page one and kept me held until the end.
As always the author keeps us guessing and turning the pages quickly.
An amazing forensic, suspense/thriller, I really loved the aspect of the story, all the characters including the supporting ones were so important.
This book was really entertaining, very engrossing and all the time I was thinking about what's gonna happen next and how it would all end.
As a avid reader of mystery, suspense thrillers, this novel delivered so much more.
Great storyline. Strong characters
There is always great depth to Patricia's writing and this is no exception.

I must say Patricia Cornwell is the best author in the forensic thriller genre I don't think anyone can beat her the way she writes is totally breath breathtaking.

I enjoyed this book. It’s interesting and tightly paced throughout. The characters are believable and it’s a frightening story in that it might happen. #Livid #NetGalley

I have been a loyal follower of the Kay Scarpetta series from the beginning. I have seen her work her way through difficult and unusual cases plus deal with office politics with bravery and resilience. This case is one of the weirdest yet.

If you are familiar with the term Havana Syndrome then you are aware of government officials claims of being bombarded by unseen rays of some kind. A group of home grown terrorists have perfected such a weapon and are not afraid to use it.

An exciting ending draws everything together and saves this story. I personally think it may be time for Kay to take a break.
