Love love love this author and let me tell you her books just get better and better! This is such a beautiful read and I absolutely loved it!
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book. I have chosen to write this honest review voluntarily and it reflects my personal opinion.
I have not read the first in this series but this book can easily be read as a standalone. However, the beautiful setting and lovely characters have made me realise this is a series worth investing in, and it is so well-written that every page was a pleasure. The romance between Hannah and Will is a slow burn, with a drip feed of what has happened to Hannah to make her so wary of settling down so there is plenty of opportunity to get to know other characters while the romantic theme bubbles under the surface. Will's daughter, Beti, is a precocious delight, so realistic as a child brought up by a single parent who absorbs adult words and phrases and repeats them, sometimes out of context making the book hilarious in parts. A really good read to evoke thoughts of summer!
A brilliant read and one I really enjoyed. The characters are loveable and varied, the plot is one that is engaging and medium paced. I found myself completely drawn into the story and enjoyed the writing style.

STARTING OVER IN CARIAD COVE
BY
DARCIE BOLEYN.
This is book two in Darcie Boleyn’s cosy series set in Cariad Bay.
Starting Over In Cariad Cove, can be read as a stand alone story, but I’d always suggest reading a series in order to get the best from the book.
The Plot: Hannah is a successful travel writer, who finds herself in Wales, staying at Cariad Cove.
Hannah has never felt at home anywhere and has had a tough time growing up.
Seduced by the charms of Cariad Cove and its inhabitants, will Hannah stick to her plan and move on to her next assignment? Or will Hannah finally find a place to call home and the love of a good man?
My Thoughts:
There is nothing not to like in this heartwarming story.
It’s well written, with some delightful characters.
I truly felt for Hannah. She’d had a tough life.
It was good to catch up with old characters too.
This book has the nicest of settings. Wales really is that lush!
Over all, this is a heartwarming tale, that will make you smile and feel all warm and fuzzy.
Delightful!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Out now on all formats.
With thanks to Netgalley and Canelo for a digital arc of this title.
This is a good book. The two main characters are Hannah and Will. Hannah is a independent writer and Will is a s teacher and dad. There is an instant attraction. They each have issues but together they work them out and fall in love.
Another in the Cariad Cove series and yet another winner. This book has it all, lovely characters, love and romance including all emotions. Great read 4 stars
Thanks to Netgalley and publisher for this ARC
Starting Over in Cariad Cove by Darcie Boleyn is a charming feel-good story about a woman desperately searching for a place to belong. Hannah was a travel writer and a good one. Having to family or anything to hold her back she was ready to go at a moment’s notice so that made her really appealing. She is in West Wales having taken over this assignment from someone who was pregnant and too ill to travel. She was not totally excited about it but it was good to be near the sea. Shortly she met Ffion, the daughter of the owners of the hotel and a lovely young woman who had grown up her in Cariad Cove but had left for a number of years. She seemed a little sad but very happy. Hannah wan’t really sure why. She coaxed Hannah to start running again and through her Hannah met Will and his daughter, Beti, with whom she fell in love immediately. They became friends and since Will was a teacher, they both had the next six weeks off for the summer holiday, so Hannah joined them on some of their excursions.
Hannah was a complex character: her mother had died when she was ten; she lived in foster homes where she managed but did not thrive; she went through a period of drinking and partying and accidentally got pregnant and miscarried before she’s even realized she was carrying a child. It broke her and her life was changed completely. Will’s partner had left him when Beti was a toddler and he was over her, but he wasn’t really over the situation. They were perfect for one another, if only they realized it before she had to leave Cariad Cove to return home. It was a gentle romance and an inspiring one. I enjoyed it.

Another wonderful book continuing the Cariad Cove series. Again, the characters feel true to life and portray incidents that happen in real life.
I loved every minute of it! Just absolutely beautiful. Loved, loved, loved this amazing book. Poignant, heartbreaking and yet joyful. A wonderful book…
Tried and failed to finish this a few times. There was to much information overload and not enough plot for the first 17% and then when the MCs finally met, the chemistry was bland and I couldn't connect with the male character, too subdued for my liking. I will try again in the future, but for now I'm afraid it's a DNF for me.
I didnt realise this was part of a series, I dont think it took anything away from the book but there is back stories I didn't know, the characters are well written, not a massive page turner but if you a looking for something easy and not to taxing, this is the book for you
Not my first Darcie Boleyn book and it won't be my last. A nice read. I know that will sound boring to some, but it's what I wanted. There's little drama, just some emotional angst, which did get a little repetitive at times. That said, the angst didn't hold the two main characters, Hannah and Will, back for too long. It was a gentle romance. The ending was satisfying. I loved Beti. What a gorgeous girl. Loved the dogs, loved the description of the place. One thing I did roll my eyes at was a plot development for a character from a previous book. Really? It was too quick. Also, this same character became best friends with Hannah so quickly, too quickly I thought. But maybe that's the cynic in me. Recommended. With thanks to NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Absolutely loved this story and all it brought. There was enough mystery in there to keep you wondering what had happened previously whilst the whole emotional journey was running to being friendship and love together.
Hannah is an independent journalist but has never settled down anywhere preferring to travel.
After losing her mum when she was younger and being in foster care she finds it hard to trust or get close to anyone until she goes to write a piece about Cariad Cove in Wales where she falls in love with the area and the locals, a father and his daughter in particular
A lovely read
I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is a wonderful story. I loved the main character and the plot kept me engaged the whole time!
What sweet, cute read. I did enjoy main character of the book and connected with her throughout the story.
Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.
I loved reading the previous book. The characters from that book, make an appearance in this story.
Hannah, who travels to different places and writes pieces for publishers, and we also meet Will, who has a little girl named Beti who is so adorable.
The characters were well developed, and relatable. It felt lovely meeting the characters from the previous book.
It was lovely to see how both Hannah and Will handled each others story, as each had baggage of their pasts. Will found it hard to handle how he was left and that maybe he wasn’t doing enough. Hannah, had still not overcome the childhood she lived and her secret.
But, as they embraced what each one went through, they were able to heal.
Recommend this book.
I like Darcie Boleyn's stories and this one was poignant and sweet.
Hannah is a sort of drifter terrified by losing someone she cares for. Cariad Cove is the place where her fears are challenged.
I liked the characters and the story made me smile and move.
I cant' wait to read the next one
Recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine
A charming romance with some very sweet characters. No huge traumas inflicted on anyone, no massive misunderstandings, nice happy endings all round. A pleasant way to while away a couple of hours. Many thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the chance to read and review.
