Refreshingly different. This book shows the dangers of stereotyping. none of the characters are wholly good or bad. Some of them have made wrong decisions in difficult circumstances.
So many excellent red herrings. I had no idea who was the culprit and was shocked by the truth. So many unexpected and explosive twists and stunning cliff hangers kept me glued to these pages. I sped through it unable to put it down. So good.
This ARC was provided to me via Kindle, from HQ and #NetGalley. Thank you for the opportunity to preview and review. Opinions expressed are completely my own.
Brilliantly woven mystery with the right amount of suspense.
R.M. Ward branches out with her first adult thriller.
For a ‘psychological’ thriller it was missing the psychological component for me. I didn’t feel the tension or angst that I crave from a good thriller nor did I particularly care about any of the characters. Although, I unintentionally read the entire novel in an afternoon because I couldn’t put it down.
Despite the unrefined writing I loved the unique protagonist Kath. The author captured the loneliness of ageing to perfection. The desire to be seen and feel appreciated. The ailments of a weary and wearing body. The psychological scars we gather throughout life. I couldn’t help but feel sorry for her.
The fast-paced plot was driven by short punchy chapters and the multiple points of view added to the suspense. As each chapter ended on a hook, I began tearing through the pages to get back to each protagonist needing to know more from each of them.
There were so many suspects I didn’t know who to believe.
I was kept guessing to the very end.
Thank you @netgalley & @HQStories for my ARC
This book was in the middle for me. I didn’t not like it but I didn’t love it either. It was a bit predictable and slow, but I still would recommend.

BOOK - 4 stars
Kath, Sandy & Mina and Den. Characters in this novel all play their part in making this a great read.
I thoroughly enjoyed this story and was swept along with the stories given by each character. Who is telling the truth? I recommend you read the book and find out. The twist and turns with plenty of ooo's and aahh's.
I give a 4 stars but it should really be 5 stars.
This is story about bereavement, loneliness, ageing, bullying, deception and a lot more.
I WANT TO THANK NETGALLEY FOR THE OPPORTUNITY OF READING AN ADVANCED COPY FOR AN HONEST REVIEW.
Safe With You by R.M. Ward is a gripping, unputdownable read that I devoured in a single afternoon. This is a new to me author, but one who is now firmly on my radar.
Kath is a lonely eighty-five year old woman who lives alone in an apartment. One of the bright spots in her day comes when young Mina, her neighbour next door, returns home from school and taps on the wall three times to let Kath know that she is home safe and sound. It is a comforting routine, but one day the wall remains silent, and Kath knows that her sense of responsibility for the child will draw her out of her solitude, and that she will do whatever she can to find young Mina.
This is a brilliant read, and I look forward to much more from this author in the future.
Many thanks to NetGalley and HQ Digital for an ARC.

Wowsome 5 🌟
Kath has lived on the same London estate for decades. Lately she’s become friendly with the little girl next door, who is often left alone for hours at a time while her mum is at work. They have a system. When Mina gets home from school to the empty flat, she knocks on the wall three times. Knock, knock, knock. I’m home safe and sound. But one day Mina’s knock doesn’t come. Kath raises the alarm and the police begin the search. Kath was the only person looking out for Mina – now she might be the only one who can bring her home.
I adored it.
Thanks to NetGalley and HQ for giving me an advance copy.
