I must admit I was slightly concerned when right at the start, we kept getting Casey referencing that she needed a change of direction in her life. I get that you need to set up this aspect, but honestly it became tedious rather quickly.

So how did the rest pan out? Truthfully it was okay, nothing more and thats reflected in my rating. I felt the book didn't quite know where or how it wanted to identify itself. Thriller? Crime? Romance? Sci-Fi? While it had all these elements, it wasn't something where it really tried to nail itself into a genre specifically. Of course often we have multiple genres within stories, but usually they're firmly shown. These were often vague and meandered from one to the other.
The elements of a lot of repetitive information wasn't as much as initially with Casey, but it was still there with her character and tended to creep in, to a lesser degree, elsewhere. I feel slightly tighter editing would easily have removed that element for me.
So did I enjoy any of it? Yes. It was okay. The characterisation overall was solid enough and that allowed me to care enpugh to finish the book.That wasn't to say it was the best book for me out there, but it also isn't the worst. Others would probably get more from it than I did personally. I just found it wasn't as engaging as other books I've read. I might read more from the author if I see something offered, but otherwise, I would say this isn't a total bust, so if you get the opportunity to read this, then do.

Royals, A Reporter and A Designer Against A Supervillain . . .

Honestly, I didn’t know what to expect from this book or author as this was my first read from Jenny Frame. The book is somewhat a continuation from previous novels, but can be read as a standalone, thanks to the author filling in gaps; Though there is a lot that occurred before that will make you want to read the previous Royal Romance Novels. Just know this story is set in a fictional country in the not to distant future, so technology is advanced but people and politics are similar to today.

A lot of book was based on what had previously occurred, especially concerning the Queen, her consort and the very evil villain. The MCs for this story were essentially Poppy and Casey. Poppy is just trying make the world a better place and hopes to help by using her talents as a designer, but first she has to finish her design classes and maybe find love. Meanwhile Casey is coming out of deep cover work, her whole life has been about becoming other people to get the story and now she finds the story may cost her more than her cover it may cost her heart.

Overall, I did enjoy reading this story but now I really wanna read the previous stories too. Poppy and Casey were frenemies to lovers, and their immediate chemistry was just sizzling though they try to really deny it. I loved their back and forth repartee, and it left me hoping for their HEA. Casey was by far my favorite of all the characters and I was happy to see she finds a home and love. I will read more from this author, and will need to read the first couple books concerning the queen and her consort, because they definitely grow as a couple and as individuals in this book.

The Royal Exposé is definitely worth the read! I LOVE royal romance books and this may be one of my new favorites. The characters were fun and cute and the story was really entertaining. I’ve never read any of Jenny Frame’s other books, but I can’t wait to now!

This series is one of my favorites and I've read most of the earlier ones a few times. The characters in these are predictable and the romances are insta-love but they take me to that ideal world where the good guys are good and the bad guys are bad but there's always a happy ending. They are an enjoyable escape and I'm here for that. I loved that we are starting to see the next generation from this series, I loved Poppy in the first go round and she was great here as well. Casey was a great addition to this crew and I loved the new scenes with Roza and Lex. If you're in the mood for a fun escape this is it, if you're looking for a more realistic relationship and romance maybe skip this series.

The royal romance series is one of my favs but I still love, and read, Georgina’s story. It’s like Jenny’s initial book in a series is fire and then as she starts introducing new characters and the series moves along then there are too many POV’s shoved into too small of a book. Someone always gets robbed of telling their story and sometimes it’s the MC. This book was well written and I would definitely recommend it.

Casey is an investigative journalist with a promising career and her biggest story ever freshly published, but mostly she is tired. So when her Boss approaches her with another undercover offer, her first reaction is to refuse. However, an evening next to the closed case file later, she finds herself enrolled in a business school and on her way to befriend the sweet Poppy, sister to the Queen’s Consort and her in ticket to a potentially huge political scandal. The problem? Poppy isn’t what Casey expected.
The Royal Expose is a fun and quick political love story set in a quaint fictional European country. The characters are compelling and have a lot of back story, which gives them depth and dimensionality. The plot has a lot of potential too, but the story is told from three perspectives: Poppy‘s, Casey‘s and the Queen’s. All of their storylines are amazing but the book is much too short for them to reach their full potential. It had amazing commentary on pressure and Leadership, relationships, and press which was just sadly not given enough space. I think this book wanted to say more than it could in the space it had.
I do recommend it for a fun sapphic read with a bit of action, royalty and enemies-to-lovers.

I love Jenny Frame's royal books and was excited to read this one. The storyline was interesting as always and the premise was very original. However, while the depiction of Roza and Lex's relationship several years down the line was interesting to read, the airtime given to them was a lot, and coupled with the third storyline about the villain Thea, meant that the romance between the two main characters wasn't as prominent as I would have liked and there wasn't enough room for character development. Still, it was an enjoyable read and I look forward to the next book in the series.

𝗕𝗮𝗱 𝗯𝗼𝘆.

Jenny Frame's stories remind me of the classic hetero romance novels I use to read when I was still in school but set in a world where queers are a norm and the couple pairings are always butch/femme. Not everyone likes stories written like that but if you pick one up and like it, chances are you'd probably enjoy most of her books.

But don't start on this book if you're not prepared to invest some time in Frame's Royal Romance series first. There are four books in that series but the most important one is Royal Rebel because its characters, Queen Roza and Crown Consort Lex, have a huge presence here, like maybe half the story. I like them and quite enjoyed their story although it seems Roza and Lex's relationship has now hit a rough patch due to security issues and tabloid scandals.

The story of the main characters interested me a little less and I think it's because one of the main characters, Casey, has a "bad boy" butch attitude that I didn't like, so I couldn't really get into their story even though I tried. Casey is an investigative journalist tasked to get a scoop on the Royal family and the easiest way is through Lex's sister, Poppy, whom Casey tries to get close to and succeeds because "bad boy" is apparently Poppy's type. To her credit, Casey has been reluctant from the start to do her job this way so there are at least some bonus points for her integrity.

I'm half-half about this story. Loved the Royals and found myself entertained by what they were going through but didn't like Casey and Poppy's story as much. But I'm a fan of the Royal Romance series so I'll definitely be following this new Royal Generations series religiously too since it's a spin-off.

A good offering by Ms. Frame. This is a fast romance and fast paced mystery. Two stories are told in tandem, Lennox and Queen Roza as well as Poppy and Casey. It is a one sitting read with descriptive love scenes.

Royal series for the loyals continues
Okay, I am a sucker for all things royal. So a new addition of prolific writer Jenny Frame who has written some terrific romances with a royal or aristocratic setting was for me a must read. I loved that the story of Roza, now Queen, and Lex, the royal consort, is not only interwoven into the story but an integral part of it. The exploration of their „older“ relationship which hits a rough patch gives depth to the story and is in some ways the counter part to the new love story unfolding between Poppy and Casey. Poppy may be a bit over-the-top sweet and Casey over-the-top biker-bad-girl, but the attraction and soul-searching esp. of Casey are believable, if a bit drawn-out.
The threat to their lifes though and its inclusion in the narration didn‘t convince and grip me as much. It felt a bit fabricated and very black and white.

I had the chance to read an ARC (thanks to the publisher!) and can only hope that there will be a thorough final proofreading because the host of niggling mistakes was annoying.

An interesting read that merges royalty with advanced technology. I read this book as a standalone but I imagine it would be a nice follow up on the secondary characters for those that read the previous instalments. Poppy wants to change the world one t-shirt at a time and Casey’s impact is a little more obvious, more in your face as she uncovers conspiracies and makes criminals visible to the justice arm as an investigative reporter. A fast read that kept me entertained.

Poppy wants to make a mark in the world and Casey who has done everything to expose the horror is questioning who she is. Casey decides to do one more assignment to figure out the truth but this time she investigating as herself not someone else and she gets closer to Poppy who help her realize theirs more to life then imposing the truth. I enjoy this read I like how the author intertwined previous characters without overshadowing the two MCs. I like how both characters want to do the right thing even when it could hurt people you love.

I absolutely loved this book. The plot was very interesting. While it was a bit on the short end and the ending could have been a bit more drawn out I liked the pacing of the two main characters relationship. The side plots were also interesting, at time even more interesting than the main one.

There’s only a few authors I like that do the whole MC and revisiting old MCs from prior books in a series, and Jenny Frame is one of them. I usually like all the pages being about the main characters but I never feel like I’m missing out on their story when other characters have chapters. It’s almost like a little catch up and revisiting characters and the author does a good job of using past characters in a relevant way to move the current storyline along. I really do wish this book was a little longer. I felt as though there was potential to expand on a lot of things. With saying that though, the pacing was nice but did feel a bit rushed in some places. For instance, the ending. Just like BOOM! then it’s a happily ever after. I would have liked a little more insight into the aftermath of a particular incident near the end. If you’ve read the other books in this series, I would suggest checking this one out.
