This is a domestic thriller. It is creepy in places. The story was quite disturbing due to service control.
It is well written
Thank you Quercus Books and Netgalley
A very dark read, but great. Kept me hooked and I didn't want to finish, but had me guessing until the end. I didn't want to put it down or finish it.
Paul and Lauren, along with Paul's young children Margo three and Jesse four are moving to the countryside. They have only known each other for a year and Lauren is excited to start a new life in an impressive architect designed house.
Lauren had been involved in an accident, she was referred to psychotherapist Paul as she was suffering with amnesia and mental trauma. They slowly become close and she eventually moves in with him.
Lauren struggles to adjust to motherhood and her fears grow that she will never live up to the ghost of Paul's first wife or that Paul will never get over the grief of his wife's tragic death.
Things are not as they seem and this story will get worse and things are about to get very creepy.
Thank you to Netgalley for my copy in exchange for an honest review.
This is a great read that has you guessing until the end.
Dark in some places but a page turner and difficult to put down.

What a great domestic thriller!
Lauren moves to the countryside to be with Paul and his 2 children - are things ever as good as they seem?
Wait till you read about this family.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, the twists and turns were unexpected.
Thanks go Netgalley and the publisher for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This is a rollercoaster of a thriller. Absolutely immense with the twists and turns. A brilliantly tense build up to a crashing finale left my head reeling at what I had just read.
Loved it!!
Growing up as part of the famous Freud family, Emily has utilised an understanding of human psychology to create a chilling and vivid story. That you can’t help but get caught up in. The twists and turns are always surprising and the writing superb
A fantastic read, very difficult to predict and the ending left me stunned. Can't wait for more from the author.
I found it hard to get into this book at first but then when I did, it all came together. This book kept me engaged and I loved it. Even though I predicted it, I still really enjoyed this book.
a thriller that I just could not put down. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of this book.
An amazing book. So well written with a storyline that just carries you away with it.
Really well thought out characters that translated well on the page.

What a phenomenal thriller! Fast-paced and full of suspense, the author has done it again. I was glued to this book from start to finish and couldn't put it down.
Yet again, this author had me stuck like glue reading this book and not being able to predict the ending. Great storyline.
What She Left Behind is a phenomenal thriller from start to finish. Filled to the brim with twists and a captivating plot, this one is sure to keep readers hooked. The characters are well-developed. I was a bit slow to get into this one, it started to unravel more around half way thru. I did think I had most of the plot figured out so was quite surprised and pleased with the ending although I think there could of been a liitle more explanation to it. Overall a good bit of suspense but just a bit slow and repetitive in parts.
Thanks to Netgalley for the Arc.
read this and already reviewed, not sure why it was sent to me again? Good book, thriller. Niave main character at times. tension.
.
This is how thrillers should be written! Angsty, messy, psychologically paranoid. I absolutely loved trying to figure everything out. This was the perfect read. Just when you thought that the plot was heading towards a certain direction, the author then simply decides to flip the coin on the reader and make you question everything you've been reading up to that point. Makes you question every character, even making the narrators so unrealiable, that you can never trully trust anyone. Perfect for fans of J.P. Delaney, if you enjoy a rollercoaster of a ride, then this is for you!
What she left behind is a book that will crawl under your skin and make you feel incredibly uncomfortable
well written and enjoyable!!
A really gripping and at times unsettling book! At times I found it a little far fetched but overall I enjoyed it and I didn’t see the end twist coming. An interesting read.
