Another great story featuring Bree Taggert. Well written and keeping you on tenterhooks as to what is going to happen next

I really like this series. This latest installment was just as good as the others. Bree is called yo a scene of a murder. The victim was heavy in online dating. The scene is pretty gruesome and so it begins. I like how Bree and Matt work together and have formed a strong loving relationship. I am pleased that Todd is healthy and back working. I like the paring of him and Matt's sister Cady. I was surprised as to who the killer was, and I like it that way. I am really looking forward to the next book. I thank Netgalley for the advanced

Book 6 in the series and still as captivating as book 1!

When you are able to get your hands on an ARC of a series you have been reading and an author you love it is bliss. As with any new book out in a series, you cross your fingers and hope it has all the elements that have led to you bing such a fan and this book delivers.

A great mystery that you won't automacitally be able to pick the correct suspect who spurred by jealousy and a need for payback quicly escallates and becomes more unhinged by the hour. You are on the edge of your seat as you wait to see if they can save her loved one as they discover they are the next target, hoping there will not be more tradegy in the lead up to the one year anniversary of Bree's sisters death.

On the key charachters, we see the continued development of Sheriff Bree Taggart and Matt Flynn relationship. Chief Deputy Harvey returns to field work for the first time since he almost died in the last big case and finding ways to mange his mental wellbeing, I look forward to seeing more on his relationship with Cady. We start to get glimpses of Adam connecting more with his family and that he does have a life outside of his paining. I see many more books in this series as we see the relationships of all these characters develop.

Interesting and well written I just personally couldn’t get into the story. Just a little slow and unbelievable at some points. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I loved this book. The writing is great, the characters are developed and interesting and the mystery was superb.
I hadn’t realized that there was a series, and I will be going back to read the novels before as I think it will help make sense of some of the backstory.

I can’t recommend this book enough, everyone should read the series and enjoy the strong female lead!

I love Melinda Leigh and all things romantic suspense. The Bree Taggert series is one of my favorites and I'm pretty sure they just keep getting better and better with each new release. There is always enough twists and turns to keep you invested. Action packed, edge of your seat kind of suspense with a little romance thrown in. I love reading about Bree's family and the relationship she has going on with Matt. I liked that we got to see a little of Todd and Cady's relationship as well. I'm already looking forward to the next one in this series!

Lie to Her, by Melinda Leigh, brings back the interesting and very lovable characters from the Bree Taggert Series that we love to read about. Juggling a stressful and demanding job as Grey’s Hollow sheriff with her sudden parenting duties, Bree is confronted with new crimes to investigate, with the help of a very cooperative team, including civilian consultant K-9 handler Matt, now publicly known as her boyfriend. This is well written, with very likeable characters you’ve come to know and love: Bree and her family and friends, Matt, and the staff at the station.

I love, love, love this series!!!! Great characters, always a new case to solve, and there is murder, mayhem, twists and turns, evil characters, and just a hint of romance.

As expected, another great continuation of the story of Bree and Matt. I have loved all the books by Ms. Leigh that I have read and appreciate how each new story jumps right in at the conclusion of the one previous. Thanks to Net Galley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this one early.

First of all, in my opinion the name and the cover of the book could have been a little better.

Coming to the plot line, the premise of the book was interesting and the main story kept me engaged. But because I've not read the previous books in the series, I couldn't connect properly to the back story.

The readers who are following the series will love the characters and enjoy their journey more, but it'll fall flat as a standalone book read.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing me an ARC copy.

Fantastic nail-biting story about a serial killer with a mission. At the start, there is shock with the first crime. You begin to guess the killer's identity - I even cheered her on to some extent. But then the story expands to include other random events that come together quickly to a shocking and unexpected ending! The characters are people with problems, and this just makes the story more easily come to life off the page. Leigh knows how to write in a way that immerses you in her world,. The story will have you on the edge of your seat, and you won't want to put the book down until the conclusion. Incredible thriller!

I read the previous book in this series and was impatient for this one. In my opinion it was even better than the last. The characters are easy to care about, the plot moves at a steady pace with enough twists to keep me reading. I'm now back to waiting for the next book.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book via NetGalley and publisher, Montlake. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Rating: 4/5 Stars
Publishing: January 17, 2023
Series: Bree Taggert #6
Pages: 304

I love Melinda Leigh as an author and all things romance and suspense with her stories. Sorry to say that I have not read any of the other books in this series, but this was downright a very good read.

"Lie to Her" in this installment publicly introduces Matt as Bree’s dating other and her dealing with her nephew and niece coming to terms of experiencing a Christmas without their mother. It is unfortunate that being the Sheriff, duty calls her to a murder. An investigation is done on the dead man and it is discovered that he has a history of mistreating women and may have ruffled the feathers of a few or it could be a long lost brother. But when another victim is found dead later, Bree realizes that it could be the act of a serial killer.

The author has a well-written story and a knack for keeping me guessing who the killer is in the book. Well, who I thought was the killer was surprisingly someone different in the end. There are plenty of twists and turns and this story is not hard to follow as the plot is very good. In addition, I really liked the characters, Bree and Matt and will have to read the others in this series to see how their relationship has developed to this point. Here’s to going back to the beginning. An enjoyable and very nice read.

Melinda Leigh has become one of my favorites lately. I can’t get enough of the Bree Taggert series, and this latest installment more than lived up to my expectations. I love that these books give you a little of everything from police procedural to family drama to murder mystery to romance and there’s always a twist. I feel like these stories and the writing get better and better. I can’t wait to see what happens next.

Thank you to NetGalley and Montlake for the ARC!

When a man is found murdered in his own backyard - hands bound and face smothered in plastic wrap - Sheriff Bree Taggert and Matt Flynn are called to the scene. The investigation focuses on the man's dating app profile and the word liar carved into his forehead. When another victim is killed the next day, Bree and Matt know they have a serial killer on the loose.

I have not read the other books in the Bree Taggert series, so I came into this with no background knowledge of these characters. I did, however, enjoy getting to know them and seeing them develop through this story. Lie to Her is a story about revenge, fatal deceptions, and how lies can come back to haunt you.

Very enjoyable read.

I enjoyed reading Lie to Her by Melinda Leigh. It is the 6th book in the series. The character development through the series has been done very well in my opinion and is a big part of what keeps me coming back for the next book!
In this installment, Sheriff Taggert (Bree) and her Criminal Investigator (and significant other), Matt Flynn are trying to solve 2 murders that happened in as many days. The case goes thru a lot of twists and turns and has a close connection to Bree's family. I love all of the rescue animals in these books too.

Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC E-book! I can't wait to read #7!

I love this series and this was no exception. Bree is a great character and has grown so much. I love her and Matt together both personally and professionally and we get to see a lot of both in this one. I admit the mystery took me by surprise. I didn't see it coming at all! Which I loved. These books are not predictable. I got sucked in from the beginning and couldn't put it down.
