After the end of book one I really thought this was going to be about Luke and Annis (Declan's sister), so I was a little thrown off when I first started it, but I quickly got over that. Overall these two were pretty cute (although there was a while there where it was getting a bit too close to cheating trope for me), although what really hooked me was the McGraff storyline - I need his book like yesterday.

(also had to make a note that the French in this was like...ridiculously wrong. Like using homonyms that very much do not mean the same thing. And then after a few chapters the French was just forgotten? Super strange.)

I loved Double Dog Dare!

Luke Kessler is known for his seasonal arm candy by the team during the football season and he has his new one already selected that won’t get serious. But meeting Summer Pearson while walking his rescue dog Monty before visiting his grandmother at Sunset Glen retirement center might be changing his plans.

Former social media star Summer Pearson is hiding out in Milwaukee taking care of her beloved grandmother’s dog Milli but meeting Luke Kessler might get her out of hiding with a little help from their families to play her cello again.

I was thrilled when Tracy Solheim decided to write more sports romances because I have been a fan of the Out of Bounds series and A Numbers Game the first time around where you get to meet coach Heath Gibson.

P.S. I loved Monty and Milli!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Double Dog Dare by Tracy Solheim is the epitome of an excellent sports romance! There were so many things that made me think, plot items that made me wonder how I would feel. I love books like that!

Very quickly, Luke is afraid of love, Summer's confidence is broken, and they are perfect for each other. This book has big emotions, sexy times, 2 spectacular dogs, and pro athletes. Swoon!

The additional characters and their relationships are what really got my brain thinking. What does it mean to be a family? What does it take for children to feel unconditional love? How can unconventional families find love with each other? When someone has dementia or Alzheimer's, can they find a second love? Can their partner? Fascinating ideas!

I received an advance review copy for free from NetGalley, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I have to confess that (horror), I am not a football fan. But after reading the reviews of book 1 , I decided to give this one a try. Glad I did.
The story centers around Luke Kessler and Summer Pearson.
Summer is a concert cellist, but after a disastrous concert was blasted on social media, all she wants is to forget her career and hide away far from everything and everyone. What better place than in Milwaukee, where her grandparents live.
Meanwhile, Luke Kessler, a Growlers wide receiver, is known to date a different woman a per season and has no interest in getting serious with anyone.
What he never expected was Summer. Though they seem like opposites, their is more to them than what’s on the surface.
At times funny, this is a story about family, challenges in life and love, as well as second chances in life and love.
An unexpected delightful story.

I guess Luke's dog is one of those "so ugly only your mom thinks that you are cute", kind of dogs. Poor thing. Double Dog Dare, is a very funny book. I enjoyed reading it a lot. It has quite a bit of family drama that is on the light side for the most part.
