'Never Make a Giant Mad: Felix and Calcite Book 2' with story and art by Artur Laperla is a graphic novel about a young boy, his unusual friend, and a missing robot dog.

When Felix's toy robot dog goes missing, he finds himself in the land of trolls asking his friend Calcite for help. They track the toy until their path gets blocked by Garganto, a rather resolute and cranky giant. How will they get the toy back?

This was an imaginative tale that younger readers may enjoy. I found the art fun and the characters likeable enough.

Cute fantasy romp with vibrant drawings and enjoyable characters, with a plot that progresses clearly from one point to another and holds all the elements together. There's also a certain whimsey or uniqueness in the drawing style that I've seen in other European comics, and is always fun to go back to.

This is a story about a boy looking for his robotic dog in a fantasy land. It is presented in cartoon form. The story is interesting as Felix meets new characters in his quest. I felt the vocabulary could have been tightened (like leaving out the blatant reference to how to buy Book 1). The illustrations were fun but most of the characters seemed to be too similar. The artist could have had a little more fun with them. Lots of reds, yellows and browns are used. Definitely worth a glance.

This is a cute entry into a new early reader graphic novel series. The art is vibrant and the story is light and silly. A good read for a young reader.
